I've mentioned before on here, I rode it about 4 or 5 times in a weekend, I love the idea, and the layout and the power of the launch... but honestly had one ride front row on the inside right seat, and absolutely loved it... sat anywhere else (in particular noticed row 4 was considerably worse than back), and it was unbearable for me unfortunately and regret riding it, so much that I had to go back to the hotel and chill in the sauna and hot tub one afternoon afterwards. but you like blackpool pleasure beach rides... so you must enjoy the rough rides that chuck you about

everyone's opinion I guess... I mean yes rita is quite rough (and had the roughest ride ever in the dark at fireworks on it), but still baco is in a completely different league of intense vibration and shaking, it's quite frankly horrendous. I could happily ride Rita several times over Saw & Colossus to put things into perspective.

I'm intrigued to know how much Derren is pocketing from this attraction... Because 3 years and a high input on the project, plus being able to use his name and popularity to make the ride appeal to more people in the future... I doubt a contract is in place to give Derren money in the future... But if construction costs are around £20million then the other £10, I'd imagine a large amount of that went to him... And then there's marketing etc. (Future marketing costs too) which all add up to the total budget to make it sound good. You'd hope the higher the budget the better the ride and experience right? Based on Alton towers spending like £18million(?) on a glorified family coaster with scaffolding for themeing, I'm still not keeping my hopes up...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Star_(ride) They are great fun... Although maybe not the most comfortable seats and restraints!

or it could be receiving a refurbishment from now, and they hope to open it in time for summer?

I seem to be doing more and more visits every year... although not sure if quantity over quality is very good - I still had great fun, but needn't worry, as exploring California is on the cards for next summer! Thorpe Park - 18 Alton Towers - 5 Chessington - 4 Drayton Manor - 4 Legoland - 2 Oakwood - 2 Adventure Island - 1 Brean Theme Park - 1 Total - 37 Does long bank holiday weekends at both Crealy (Devon) & Woodlands (Devon) count... if so I'll add 7 more days spent at parks aha! Along with the London attractions which I've done several times, I've definitely got my moneys worth from my Merlin pass aha... 100% without a doubt renewing! Managed to go to lots of events which I'm glad of like Fireworks at Drayton Manor, Brean Theme Park, Legoland, Oakwood & Alton Towers, Halloween events at Thorpe, Chessington & Alton Towers (and a Halloween only event at Avon Valley Wildlife & Adventure Park)... And only 1 new park, but so glad I went to Adventure Island, was so much fun! My regrets would be not being able to make it to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, as much as I don't think the big rides are that special, it is still fun, and would have like to tried sky force... and still not managing to get to Flamingoland (and subsequently Lightwater Valley!), and I've almost given up hope on trying to get to Disneyland Paris... and can I say that fog meaning we couldn't really see Drayton Manor fireworks as a regret aha? Highlights of the year would have to be I'm A Celebrity preview night, Stealth behind the scenes tour, Terror of The Towers maze, and the best of all - Alton Towers Fireworks!

http://www.themeparktourist.com/news/20151110/30817/x-ways-seaworld-trying-fix-its-parks this is a good read, I'm unsure of the accuracy, but would presume it's pretty factual... so with the san diego, stopping the shows sometime next year. So looks like if they went ahead with the project for san diego which recently got accepted, they would create a bigger enclosure but would no longer be able to breed the whales or get any more, so essentially would eventually die out. So looks like they can keep the similar enclousres and remove the show while continuing to breed the orcas?

Closing the season on a weekday too!? No final weekend besides fright nights
-
Well the display certainly didn't disappoint!! The lasers and lighting was ridiculously good this year, and the fireworks were decent too. Their display is my single favourite thing every year, no lie, it's that good!! 2013 was still the best in my opinion though!

If the launch out of the whole track is going to stay.... I ask the question why? When I thought the whole point of the refurb was a new launch system, surely that warrants new track?
-
Ghosthunter.EDIT: sorry I mean Ghostrider
-
I think the question was asked thinking it was going to let people in every 13 minutes as it's as long as the experience lasts, causing big queues. So with the preshow and the ride section etc. The queue would be moving quicker than that. I wouldn't read Into it too much...

So it's been confirmed that the refurb will remove the mid course break run, and add new trains, alongside the retracking... I don't enjoy rough rides, but this refurb looks like it could make it a really enjoyable ride - can't wait to try it next summer!
-
I missed that aha!

the BIG question is... will Rock Rage/Ski Jump be there again this year... my single favourite flat ride experience ever, was crazy - wish I got to do it more than once!
-
The fireworks sounded like they could have been decent... But the fog mixed with smoke meant we could barely see anything makes for great night rides though!
-
All about them extending their opening of selected rides after the fireworks from 9 to 9.30... The park is packed today, I overheard a working saying 10,000 people so for a park this small is a lot! Can't wait for the fireworks... 10 minutes to go!
-
Those photos are amazing! It's now forecast to be foggy for me tomorrow night at towers... Can't wait!

Contains some spoilers... I'd recommend reading ScareTours review or look at the website I posted above to understand more about the mazes. Well I done Avon valley fear tonight... Thought it was great although went and left within 2 hours, and the place opened late and the mazes didn't open til around half 6, but the queues once opened did move quick! Started off with phobia which was decent but too dark in places, and managed to catch up with the scared group in front and then got lost in circles and another group caught up which ruined it a bit, the short outdoor section with the bridge was fun, and the ending was okay. Purgatory was my favourite, I really enjoyed how funny it was and different with the splitting up and crawling to escape the prison cells and then the outdoor section, the ending was cool too! And then I was hyped up for anarchy and found it so disappointing, it went on for forever inside but was too repetitive and no actors in a lot of sections, and then the outdoor didn't see an actor til the end just before the chainsaw ending which was just him blocking the exit, no chasing out. I'm going tomorrow again with a competition I won for VIP passes so will be able to try them several more times so hopefully will get some better run throughs

Merlins big hype investments are ususally a coaster... So metro are just presuming :/
-
I haven't had the pleasure of riding sub terra since the restraint changes...
-
Terror of the towers isn't too bad (unless it's worse this year)... Although the towers are genuinely creepy anyway, it gets ruined by staff standing by the stairs for h&s not even dressed up!
-
I'm being brave enough to try Molly Crowe... I'd rather not see and be by myself and know I got a rope to follow, than being by myself throughout the whole maze, I don't even like being at the back of a group in a horror maze, and refused to be at the front!
-
Looks like I won't be doing sub species then....
