  1. The Pleasure Beach has announced on their Facebook page that the Log Flume has today been re-opened
  2. I'll be there for the most of it. But may have to leave part way through the Summer Nights part of the meet because of my train times
  3. Had a great time today! Thanks everyone and Peaj for organising yet another amazing day out Hope everyone enjoys the rest of MoS and the Cinema! Looking forward to Summer Nights now
  4. Yet another park in the Six Flags chain, it used to house the other S&S Sky Swat (Catapult) which was recently removed and currently has the world's tallest Sky Screamer, several wooden coasters and Bizarro. It's just been announced that just like Colossus at SFMM, Cyclone will be closing on the 20th July after 31 years of operation (opened in 1983). Does anyone think this will be given the RMC Treatment or is it just the end for Cyclone considering the park has a few other woodies?
  5. Finally an opening date for Marble Madness, the new coaster has been announced. Scheduled opening date is now 27th June. (From Pleasurewood Hills' Facebook)
  6. Oh yeah, sorry I didn't read it right
  7. I thought the CP Facebook page said that it was a Water Mains Break and they deemed it a health and safety hazard so were forced to close the park. "Early this morning, the City of Sandusky experienced a water main break on the main line that supplies water to Cedar Point. The City of Sandusky is currently working to repair the system. Without our normal water supply, and due to safety concerns, the park is unable to open today. All guest tickets will be honored on future dates this season. Please visit cedarpoint.com for the latest updates." - CP Facebook
  8. The operator of a KMG booster wheel has been struck by the ride while it was in full motion. This took place on a funfair in the Netherlands (Haarlem). The operator has survived with only a broken collar bone and his condition is stable for now. Footage of the actual accident (potentially distressing for some): http://www.dailymotion.com/embed/video/x1ybnrz Source: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/5670260/Fairground-worker-knocked-down-by-50mph-ride.html?CMP=SOC-Sun-Facebook-11_20_2013-191-0-0-0
  9. You say this but in addition to Ryan's post above, Cedar Point has a longer closed season and doesn't open each year until early May
  10. **Unearth's topic** Colossus has today been officially announced to be CLOSING on the 16th August this year! Thoughts? Perhaps we will see this given the RMC treatment... Or just completely demolished... A racing RMC could be quite interesting. Source: Theme Park Review
  11. This is the sort of thing that I still fail to understand.... What sort of sickening kick would a person get from doing this sort of thing, I mean why, what's the point? Have they got some sort of grudge against Dreamland? They definitely need 24 hour security staff around there now that the regeneration is beginning as who's to say this wouldn't happen again otherwise. By the sounds of it this could have been a lot worse and put a huge dent into the regeneration cycle of the coaster and park.
  12. An update on Falcon's Fury: "Busch Gardens’ new thrill ride Falcon’s Fury includes first-of-its kind design elements, systems and parts. Due to a delay in the fabrication of key component parts, neither the manufacturer nor Busch Gardens are able to complete the lengthy testing processes needed to open the ride to the public. The safety of our guests and team members remains Busch Gardens’ top priority and none of these delays involve safety systems. The ride has been safely operated in the initial stages of the testing process, and all other elements of the park’s newest re-imagined land Pantopia are now open to guests. Busch Gardens will provide updates on the ride opening as events warrant. We are committed to delivering world-class thrills and the best possible ride experience, and we look forward to the launch of Falcon’s Fury, North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower, later this summer" Source: Theme Park Guide/Busch Gardens Tampa Facebook page
  13. Anyone got a source for this? Was it an update on the website or something?
  14. For anyone interested, this project has just been cleared as "A National Significance" by the government Source and more info: http://www.leisureopportunities.co.uk/detail.cfm?pagetype=detail&subject=news&codeID=309298&sitecode=FB
  15. I'm not sure about whether the second drop is gone forever or not but if they're replacing the track then they'll probably do this for all the drops at some point so I can't see any reason for it not returning. As for the Roller Coaster trains, all they seem to have done is repaint them and put a new set of wheels on them so I don't get why it takes so long to bring them back. Maybe they just got rid of them seeming as it only runs one train mostly (usually the orange one)
  16. Thanks for an amazing day today, the day felt so relaxed and calm which was a nice change from everyday school life. Was great to meet those who I haven't before and the queues were minimal if at all existent most of the time! When the penguin from the Madagascar show chased ScaryCoasterBoy was hilarious too. Thanks everyone and for Peaj organising it, looking forward to the Ministry of Sound day meet
  17. That would cool but wouldn't the wood rot, and I think that'd be a worlds first... Unless there is a woodie with aquatrax somewhere
  18. But there's already an Inverting woodie going to Kolmarden Zoo in Sweden... So surely it can't be to do with inversions on a woodie??
  19. After checking at the train station and booking my ticket I can say that I'm definitely able to go to this now! Wooo looking forward to it
  20. I'm a maybe for this. I haven't been to Chessington since I was 6 so I'll try my best to get there as it depends on the trains. So for now I'm a maybe
  21. Don't know about anyone else but this had me on the edge of my seat and gave me chills. Its a bit old but it's the winner of the Best Short Film in the 'Who's There?' competition last year and its called 'Lights Out' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUQhNGEu2KA Do not watch if scared easily or the lights are all off in your house
  22. I mainly noticed it in the 2013 season, but the enthusiasm seemed weaker this season. New and younger staff were the more miserable and grumpy ones which is a shame
  23. Currently a FIVE HOUR WAIT! The line stretches all the way back to the Eiffel Tower thingy they have in the park. Source: TPR
  24. You say that but at least the staff at AI interact with the guests unlike most other parks I've been to. On all occasions that I've visited the staff have been brilliantly enthusiastic and helpful to guests (with one or two exceptions of course). Yes AI do have a rule that shirts must be worn on all rides at all times. As for the banning of that man, they did introduce a new strict policy about having to wear a top or shirt or whatever at all times while on the park. Their reasoning for this was because of the child-friendly family environment that the park is trying to maintain, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did (AI seem to be getting more and more serious and strict about everything each time I visit).
