The cycle cant be changed by Thorpe, or at least I don't think it can. I believe that S&S can change some of the set up to make it slightly longer or shorter by 1 swing but they are restricted because of the air cylinders and how long they take to pressurise again.

I loose partial vision on swarm occasionally if its running very fast and it is stronger nearer the back on the left. The only other ride I get this on is millennium force on the first turn, that is much stronger and I can end up loosing all vision if I have low blood sugar.

"success" has been used in a funny context there. Saw being at 2 hours 30 minutes with 100% RnR allocation I wouldn't call success. When looking at RnR feedback you must remember that the people reviewing it are comparing that to exaggerated queue times. Most of them will have visited once before and queued 2 hours for swarm once when it was new and in turn they believe that all queues were 2 hours. Trailing it at fright nights should go ahead, if they are so confident it makes the park better why don't they use it when its most needed.

1. Millenium force - Really is a fantastic ride. Plenty of air time and amazing high G's on the first turn, but the first drop is just amazing. 2. Top Thrill dragster - Love launch coasters, the height the speed, the set up and of course the lap bars provide so much freedom. 3. Mean Streak - Couldn't get enough of the ride, everything about it was great and I feel its under rated in the world of coasters. 4. Maverick - its maverick, it talks for itself 5. Nitro - Great Airtime 6. Bizzaro (SFGA) - It was the only ride to surprise me for years. The elements and they way the flow is great. Don't see the point in no floor though. 7. el torro - Great airtime however a bit too smooth for what I want from a wooden coaster 8. kingda ka - Great like TTD but the set up/ theme is just wrong, and the through put is dire 9. Nemesis - Still the best invert coaster I have been on 10. gatekeeper - Best wing rider I have found but like all wing riders its a bit slow. Mantis and green lantern would be in there if you could get comfortable every time but there were rides where it was just pain.

Top Spins have 20 years at most but they were not designed to get sprayed with water jets everyday. The water jets have drastically reduced the rides life span hence its horrific reliability.

The 'Definitely 100% Totally Going to Happen' London Resort
Project LC replied to Liam T's topic in UK Attractions
Unfortunately the concept images showed that they would be using all of that land which raises a few concerns about expansion but hopefully they can utilise the space well and not just fill it with hotels and imax cinemas. Also were they not going to add a monorail from ebsfleet international to the park to make it even more easy access. -
Camera ban - does this apply just on rides or around the whole park?
Project LC replied to RJDG14's question in Quick Questions
The reason you cant use GoPros is because it requires the health and saftey inspector to check it off. To prevent him/her from always checking peoples cameras they just impose a full on ban. -
You are not allowed to remain in your seat while the train is in motion with the bars unlocked. Pretty sure that is in the regulations.

One thing I would like to know, is the swarm allowed to dispatch if someone hasn't left the station. I always thought that this was the situation but on my last visit they didn't seem to care to much.
-
You wont be able to re ride the mazes because of RnR what was a few hundred people per queue is now 100% of people among the mazes vitually. The Virtual waits will be hours long, if a single maze wait with RnR is below 1 hour 30 minutes I will be stunned.
-
Saw and X better than Nemesis and Swarm? Swarm is one of the best if not the highest meanwhile saw is useless.
-
I said my comment in the general sense, RnR only on mazes and being the only way to queue I think will work. You may struggle to get all of the mazes done as the wait times will be longer than if they were a standard queue but I guess people can put up with that.
-
According to Thorpe park guest services it turns out swarm operates on 1 train in the morning to, and I quote "In order to save energy we will remain on one train unless there is a demand for the second train." They did also mention that it is down to engineers schedules in why the 2nd train is added late but just so you know why 1 train operation happens on off peak and 40 minute queues form at least you know you are saving the planet.
-
I don't mind RnR trails at fright nights, I spend my time at Alton who realise rides lower queues not stupid gimmicks. Anyone who is fooled into thinking RnR makes them queue less overall I'm afraid is too stupid to realise what is actually going on.

Dispatching the train before the next train has arrived at the station does improve throughput but not as simple as some people imply. There will be a point in the track where dispatching sooner will have no effect. What needs to happen to get the max throughput is to dispatch the train so it reachs the top of the lift hill by the time the 2nd train enters the station. This can be worked out by circuit time minus the lift hill. If the lift is slowing down then really its been dispatched too quickly and could have been dispatched later. (That is excluding a few things which change that but that is the simplest I can put it).

As there is so many of them they arnt that bad at all. They always leave early and get there late so fight nights night part should still be good.

Its rather hard to keep the themed area's when someone goes and puts angry birds land in the middle of the largest area they had. Loggers leap area as I will now call it consists of 2 rides which are both dying and need some serious work. Slammer I have no idea where that belongs, its by itself as far as I can work out. Calypso quay is very hard to tell what belongs to it other than the rumba rapids which is in need of some serious serious work. I can see the rumba rapids getting an update but the return of themed areas is one I think they would struggle with.
-
They are keeping it when the hotel first opens but when the hotel is fully complete thorpe will have the option to ask to keep that many rooms on site or they will have to destroy it.
-
According to huss their top spins can do 1000pph along with the giant Frisbee so high throughputs do exist. Power tower can apparently do 1700pph so to say flat rides don't have high throughputs is entirely correct.
-
They need a nice flat ride with a good throughput. I'm sure mondail or huss can sell them something.
-
They have missed an opportunity, if you are having a ride you want guests to hear about it. If they had signs up during the summer saying something new was coming I'm sure more of them would return the following year. A late advertising campaign is never good. Also I know cultures are different but Cedar fair and six flags have already announced next years new rides to get people excited meanwhile Thorpe haven't said anything. Saying nothing isnt going to get anyone excited.
-
I'm sure stormsurge is the source of nearly all complaints about long queues so I don't think that will help. All of that measuring the other day and tagging trees was for fright nights, so where or what the 2015 investment assuming it exists is completely unknown. If Thorpe wanted to start building the hype, they have missed the opportunity.

Fine bit of theming there. Disney could learn a lot.

Maybe low numbers is a sign they need to get the thrillseekers back. They either need to convince back the market they had developed for years and the park is geared up to, or invest a lot of money in the family section. So re-theme the rumba rapids, do up the loggers leap area and add 2 or 3 family flats as at the moment there isn't enough to advertise and convince family's to go. However what I fear they have done is the way they are going to get back thrillseekers is advertise the park as the worlds first queueless park and entice family's with a rumba rapids re-theme and if we are lucky a new flat.
-
They have had a 2 low investment years in a row with nothing new for thrillseekers. They are approaching the point where they are going to have to do something. I think we will see a new flat next season opening the same sort of time as angry birds land did. I reckon it will be aimed at the sort of audience zodiac is aimed at. So good thrills but also family. Along with that they are planning a lot more side attractions like the music performances. So I wouldn't be surprised if a permanent stage was put up, like the one on the MTDP outside stealth.
