  1. Yes, but even Unilad can't get anything right these days...

"Prepare to have your mind f****d, as Derren Brown has officially designed and opened the world’s first ‘fully immersive psychological theme park attraction"

It hasn't even opened yet? Also, the Telegraph Article couldn't spell Colossus correctly either. I know I'm being anal about it all but it frustrates me a little!

  2. Where have the posts gone?

I'm sorry but if Thorpe posted that picture then they can't expect it to stay offline, it is their own fault for posting it.

They didn't really "post" them though, did they. They weren't supposed to be for public viewing as of yet so it's fair that some posts on this discussion have been hidden. We're the official fansite so therefore still associated with the park, which means anything posted here does reflect on the park a little bit.

  3. Visited yesterday... Hate to say it but I was disappointed. Worst year I've been from when I started in 2010.

The Big Top - Very rushed. To anyone who hasn't experienced it yet, I hope you like black felt because the entire maze is made out of it. Everything felt a bit shabby and not finished. The first tent was entirely pointless, costumes were generally pretty bad, and I wasn't scared once despite being a very jumpy person. I was a bit nervous during the last few metres but only because I like having ankles. Also, the mirror maze? C'mon Thorpe Park, it was laughable. I won't ruin it if you haven't been inside but oh my was it atrocious.

Saw Alive - Also pretty bad. The sets inside are pretty damn good but the acting let it down completely, and the fact you still have to do it all in a conga line made it even worse. All of the actors (except one) just shouted "boo" at us and waved their hands in our faces. This to me doesn't scream quality halloween attraction, it screams primary school play tbh. Throughput last night was good on this maze though so I'll give them that.

Cabin in the Woods - This was actually good. Very dark and atmospheric, actors did a huge variety of things and some hid extremely well. I had one actor literally emerge from the ground in front of me which was terrifying so we really enjoyed this one. It was a good length too, not to short and not too drawn out. It was a bit too bright near the end though which needs some adjusting in my opinion.

As for the event in general...

Park was heaving with teenagers just there to cause a bit of trouble. Many trying to jump queues, many smoking in queues (even though some of them were literally about 13), lots of people throwing things in the queues etc. I also realised when queueing for the Big Top that I've never seen so many people wearing sweatpants and tracksuits in one place! Pretty sure there's a world record for that which I'm sure the park could milk for some PR. Park was quite clean which was nice. There were some bits of little but nothing major.

Samurai was open some of the day, however we left the queue when we realised it was just two revolutions each way. They need to bin that thing now and buy a new one, as that's not worth queueing for at all.

Overall, the day was entertaining but mainly not for all good reasons. Hopefully next year they'll bump their game up because in general the event as been dropping in quality from when I first visited (except for 2011, that was a good year.)

  4. Or track pieces [emoji57] (even though loads of people are telling me it's not a coaster)

Seriously they're telling you it's not a coaster because it isn't. 100% sure it isn't.

Hoping this thing is trackless, but due to the cost and the fact WC16 loads on the first floor and not the ground floor, I doubt it will be :(

  5. From looking at the twitter last week there were problems with the printing at home things

Any more detail on this? I printed me and my friend's tickets last week from home, does this mean they won't work? We're going on Saturday :L

  6. Once I do Slammer then I won't mind if it leaves, I've heard it leaves you with headrush or something! :/

Yeah it always gave me a really bad headache, and everyone I rode it with. I personally don't see why everyone worships it, but I guess it's just down to taste. Just because it's the last of it's kind, doesn't mean it deserves to stay in my opinion.

  7. Really? Ah that's good then I thought it was taken apart and hadn't been put back together! Samurai used to be amazing, Slammer has always been disgusting though in my opinion. I just don't like headaches together with my flat rides.

  8. YES it might finally be going! So with Samurai and this pretty much doomed, hopefully they can buy something new for either next season or 2017, although I'm not holding my breath.

  9. well let me go back to my star wars merch comparison.

I am buying episode 7 Merch whenever I can, I haven't seen the movie, I will be at an Imax midnight screening also.

I also remember what a trainwreck episodes 1 through 3 were.

so the answer is yes, they would. When people get invested in something they can be quite committed.

Like plus has said, you can't compare that to WC16. Besides there isn't really a name for the ride yet either, so if you wore the t-shirt and somebody questions you on it, you can't really say much because we don't know what it is and we haven't ridden it.

  10. Is this "traveller" issue a regular thing at FN? All the years I've been I haven't noticed any travellers, let alone troublesome ones.

During my visits it's always 14 year old chavs trying to jump queues...

Has anyone had any of these issues in previous years then?

  11. Thorpe Park are aware of this, so extremely nonspecific wc16 merch has arrived, and we will likely buy it.

But would that many people actually get a t-shirt of a ride they haven't ridden yet? I might be wrong but I thought the idea of a ride shirt was party to show off that you've ridden it and you liked it.

  12. One thing the Nottingham Goose Fair has taught me this week is that I really hate fairgrounds. I hate the atmosphere. I think it's the music they play, the weird words they repeat ("PUT YO HANDS UP UP UP UP UP") over the speakers and all the dirty people there.

Theme parks all the way for me!
