  1. I just don't understand RnR, it's not shortening queues it's just restricting rerides and stopping people getting on everything they want. It doesn't work, though tbh I think a large part of the extra wait is fast tracks fault as per
  2. Aww yeah fair enough don't blame you! Yeah we managed to get all our mazes done early so Blair witch was no trouble!
  3. Blair Witch wasn't RnR, it was a walk on for is at the end of the night, went on twice and it was fantastic
  4. So happy I've got everything organised for tonight- RnR is horrific but we noticed we were able to reserve all day and have done Studio, Cabin and MBV and are now in the queue for SAW Alive, we've been lucky though, no more reservations can be made now- the system needs some serious tweaks if they're dumb enough to use it properly
  5. RnR currently saying per 3 hour queues and it's not even 1 yet surely that's a glitch
  6. Yeah I can't figure out how to do that :/
  7. Anyone know how to reserve for more than one person from one phone? Maybe I'm being dumb but I can't figure it out
  8. Wow such mixed reviews but your day sounds like it was good! I've decided to take the plunge and go tomorrow- hoping for a day as good as that haha xD
  9. So who actually managed to do more than 2 mazes today then??
  10. RnR needs to go or they need to chill and make it some sort of fast track alternative. The queue free theme park will never be a reality
  11. The site is saying everything is an hour and a half or unavailable???
  12. I assume RnR is trialling today??? Let us know how it all pans out on the mazes tonight, still debating bothering to go tomorrow if RnR really ruins it :/
  13. Past 2 years I've been on Nov 1st and 2nd and it has never been too bad, but bear in mind that at the time I think they were Fridays- now they are a weekend! Halloween would obviously be the worst day and perhaps the day before. Thorpe have once said on twitter that- in general- Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to be the quietest in the week. Though that wasn't specific to fright nights I don't see why it wouldn't apply!'
  14. Never been on a coaster outside of the UK (that's an adventure for next summer!), but still: 1)Nemesis: undeniably amazing, super fast, a classic, the only coaster to still somewhat frighten me. Theming is fantastic and only looks better with age though I miss the rivers of blood. Love the soundtrack and the way it interacts with it's landscape. 2)The Smiler: Kind of a love/hate ride I've noticed but I really love it, theme is very imposing, very disorientating, well thought out, not overly intense but very very fun! Genuinely can't stop laughing and smiling when I come off! 3)Stealth: not ashamed to admit I've ridden this almost 40 times this year alone! :') fave ride at Thorpe and since I live pretty close by I re-ride a LOT! Super fast, intense, good views from the top, overall very thrilling! 4)Oblivion: nothing beats the feeling of suddenly dropping over that edge! Very imposing, builds excellent tension, car released from the top at varied times, never seems to have too bad a queue- very re-rideable! 5)THE SWARM: first drop is fantastic (especially at the very back or forward facing seat 5), backwards rows are very intense, forwards rows show some excellent near misses so it's win win really. Very smooth, nice elements such as fire effect and water squirting from the lake. The theming is elaborate and thorough. 6)Colossus: intense and forceful, excellent airtime in places, feels so much faster than it is, some brilliant inversions, beautiful theming, soundtrack is amazing! Roughness really doesn't bother me. 7)Thi3teen: despite all the misleading hype around this before it opened it's an excellent family ride. Love the spooky theme, smooth and fun outside section, relatively intense backward inside section, trick track is unique and exciting. Love the inside of the station particularly! 8)Nemesis Inferno: a worthy "sequel" to Nemesis, though like all sequels it doesn't quite live up to the original. Seems to be getting better with age, nice smoke effects and water spurt, some intense inversions, very disorientating and AMAZING at night! 9)Rita: this ones a controversial one! I don't find it at all painful, the speed is consistent and exhilarating, not sure the theming has ever really suited it, but it looks okay in places. Very fast, some nice airtime, takes your breath away, always come off laughing! 10)Vampire: ride itself is really showing it's age but theming (especially that MASSIVE station) is on point and the theme song remains my favourite ride theme to date, it really gets you geared up. Moments of relatively high speed and intensity despite no inversions, long ride time, good interaction with landscape, swinging effect of trains is very thrilling. My first "proper" coaster so very nostalgic. That was just coasters, if I had done all rides, Detonator would have been fourth, no kidding xD
  15. Worst ever theme park visit: Thorpe Park earlier this year, midway through the second week of the Easter holidays. The day we FINALLY started to get some warm weather after months of rain and cold and EVERYONE seemed to have the same idea. Had I known about the heat wave I wouldn't have gone but of course I didn't bother checking the weather. My boyfriend and I have annual passes so this wouldn't have been a huge problem for us alone but we were with 2 friends who were paying on the day. Didn't actually manage to get into the park until 11:30 despite arriving at about 10:10 due to my friends buying tickets. The queue to get in was insane! Busiest I have ever seen the park, busier than in the middle of summer, busier than fright night and that is seriously no exaggeration! We managed SEVEN RIDES. All day. From 11:30 until six we did 7 rides- 3 were flats. Initially when we went in we wated 35mjns for stealth running 2 trains- not too bad. Then we queued an hour for THE SWARM- it only goes downhill from here. 40mins for Detonator, 40 mins for VORTEX! VORTEX HAD A HUGE QUEUE! I felt like I was in hell xD So then we go to get lunch but the queue for that took us around half an hour on it's own. due to my friend forgetting her purse and the fact we'd all had to scrape together money for her ticket earlier in the day we could afford 2 Burger King meals between the four of us. Our fault, but still added to the awfulness of the day. By the time we finished eating it had just gone 3. After milling about applying sun cream, we headed to our next ride. I wasn't even going to attempt SAW's alleged 100min queue- I don't even like the ride very much and find queuing in that particular area unbearable. That queue moves so f-ing slowly, it's unbearable on a hot day and the cattlepen style irks me so much. Anyhow despite my protests to queue for Colossus and/ or nemesis we ended up waiting over 2 hours for SAW by the end of which we all wanted to kill each other. After that were gonna ditch the park and go home but thought 5 rides was kinda pathetic so at about 5:30pm, we headed to rumba rapids, then managed to hop into the nemesis queue at 5:55... All we did was complain the whole way home. Oh- and I got viciously sunburned thanks to not checking the weather. I was hungry, sunburned and disappointed xD

    Rita

Haha you don't have to appologise xD I agree- stealth is better!! I love stealth so much, ridden it am unholy amount of times this year whereas I've ridden Rita once. After I've ridden Rita it somehow magically tricks me into going 'oh that was good, that was longer than stealth so it must be better...' but then when I get back on stealth it's like 'NO I WAS WRONG I'm SO SORRY I bETRAYED you!!!' xD

Nothing I have ever ridden is rougher than Colossus, but SAW is a close second. I mean I LOVE Colossus its one of my favourites and I reaaallyy don't care if rides are rough or smooth so long as they are somewhat intense. But Rita has always seemed fine to me- a little rough in places, yes, but far from horrendous. I like it, its a good launch coaster and while it is by no means my favourite on park (that title goes to Nemmy <3) it is clearly very popular.
  18. Thanks!! just trying to work out some sort of contingency plan for visiting this weekend haha xD Hoping things go okay, never done RnR before so it should be interesting to see how things go!
  19. Bit of a noob here but a few things I don't quite get about RnR 1) am I right in thinking normal queing doesn't happen? 2) can you reride on reservable attractions? 3) does it increase queue length? 4) surely this means that little trick of jumping in a queue right before park close doesn't work? Or do virtual queue lines close at park close just as normal ones do? Or do they only allow you to join if the queue will be cleared by close?
  20. Thanks for the help! Just got to decide what to do now haha xD
  21. Thanks! What day was this and what time did you arrive on park?? This is so irritating, ive looked into it and apparently its only annual pass tickets that have to be collected, standard tickets can be printed at home. DId you do this this year? what day? going on a Saturday- would that be busier at the ticket office later in the day as well as in the park?
  22. Has anyone been able to print fright night tickets at home???? Only option is collect at attraction... That could be a serious time waster.
  23. Potentially the only other time I'm gonna be able to make it down is this Saturday but by the sounds of it, it's gonna be heaving so should I even bother?
  24. Does anyone know the exact dates that RnR is testing? Praying it's not on my visit :/
  25. Review of tonight- Minor Spoilers, but nothing people don't really already know! Studio 13- not really a fan tbh, preferred it to The Asylum cause the theming was better and I enjoyed the introduction. There was no real sense of fear though, not too many actors and we bunched up with another group at the end so no chainsaw. Didn't love it or hate it, it was okay, though I was never much a fan of The Asylum either, which I get is pretty unheard of but oh well gotta give it a 6 based on my experience though, expect it would've been better if it were quieter cause the actors and staff seemed to be really hurrying us through. Did anyone else find it REALLY short too? Like MBV short? Also what was with that woman doing your hair at the beginning? I mean I get why It was there but it just caught me really off guard and was just odd to me I just burst out laughing xD 6/10 My Bloody Valentine- different experience to last year- felt less like a chase and more like a casual stroll- but still didn't get to do the tunnel as it was stuffed full of kids who looked way too young to be in there haha xD got a bit lost walking round in circles for a bit and the Harry Warden characters had some good jump scares. I stand by what I said last year though- too short. Wayyyy too short, at least that route. 5/10 SAW: waited ages for this because the ratio of normal guests to fast trackers they were letting in was appalling. Loved the theming as always, got some good jump scares too. I actually got lost in the final scene which was so so odd to me as I never knew that could happen- we were just going round in circles for ages! So weird! But all round I was surprised by how good my run through was. 7/10 Cabin: still my undisputed favourite maze of all time. I love it. The free flow aspect really allows actors to interact with guests on a level that they just can't in the other mazes, they can really mess with you! My boyfriend and I were completely split up and I was held in one room for a long time! Found some new rooms and LOVED the added scenes. Ending was different too! More dark and disorientating in places, especially the final corridor where there was so much smoke you couldn't see your hand in front of your face! Really lively actors climbing walls, pushing us around and getting right up in our faces. Some great queue line actors too! Aside from the fact that the spinning tunnel didn't spin, I can't flaw it and ended up going in three times haha! May seem a little too kind but for me it really is 10/10. Sidenote- I really do find those people in white masks very very disturbing! Saw a few roaming actors and happened to bump Into Ollie Murs which was... Interesting, though I'm not a fan haha. Did SAW, Colossus and Nemesis in the dark- shame to see my beloved Detonator down for a bit overall fab event!
