  1. So cabin is even better this year- darker and more disorientating with wayyyy more smoke it seemed. Love it- going in again in a bit haha
  2. If it's both press night AND there are fast tracks in play, my fingers are crossed that the weather/ work commitments will put a lot of people off going xD
  3. I'm so excited it's unreal haha :') entrance looks fab, I don't really care if it has asylums music or not- I like the concept, it's very different and the music will work just as well for it
  4. Okay thank you so much, very informative! We're currently just debating whether to go for the day too or just for the evening haha! Thorpe are saying on their twitter it starts at 6:30 this year, though the tickets say otherwise. maybe we start to get let in by 6 an then everything will be open and ready by half past?
  5. Off topic here- but does anyone know what time the official AP preview event starts tomorrow? I mean- the tickets say 6-10 but I realise the park is open all day; is that also just to annual pass holders? If not, how do they get everyone out who doesn't have a pass? So confused but trying to plan what time to get there! Any help would be fab
  6. ahhh okay then yeah I think I know why it happened to me! thank you!
  7. This is kinda off topic but when I booked my fright night tickets, the only option was collect at park instead of print at home. unless I'm missing something or the tickets just weren't available to print on that day for some reason, since fright night is a pre-book only event, surely that means thousands of people queuing to collect their tickets? Aren't there like, 4 windows from which that can be done? From my experience this takes ages as letters of consent, credit card details ect have to be checked and tickets have to be printed so this could take forever with all guest having to do it! Surely that can't be the case...
  8. I'd also be really interested in knowing this if that's alright? I went last year and it was my favourite maze, would be good to make it last long as possible haha
  9. Ahh I see! thanks for clearing that up wish I had seen it in those days, the inner nerd in me finds how these sorts of attractions have changed over the years so interesting!
  10. That's so true, the queue would surely have been alllll over the path, right?? haha I dunno since I never actually saw it in real life weird thing is- SO many people seem adamant that The Freezer layout worked better so there must've been some way of dealing with the queue that we just don't know about? so confusing ahaa
  11. It will be interesting to see if Studio 13 takes the Asylums route around the building or reverts back to going the original route that The Freezer took...
  12. If that's true theyre gonna have to change that pretty quick or there's gonna be some very confused tourists =P
  13. Actually, it says 'find it next to the SWARM' which could really mean any number of things, its pretty vague
  14. Some really really interesting ideas, would be interesting to see if the maze has had a total overhaul/ redesign. Going to the new island might be fun and would definitely make Fright Nights different to any experience people have had of the park before, would be great to have roaming actors specifically all over that area if they did use the island too =) I'm sure we'll see whats going on soon enough
  15. I am honestly so interested to see how on earth they're going to fit a scare attraction, plus queue line on THE SWARM island when it's already chalked full of elaborate pieces of theming and guests are always flurrying around everywhere cause its probably their most popular attraction what with it being the newest. Where do you think theyre gonna put it? any construction updates??
  16. I agree it would be good to see new music since its an entirely new thing but it would have to be good enough to beat the old soundtrack and create a good atmosphere! only reason I thought the old one may be kept is because The Freezer had it too
  17. What do we think are the chances of Asylums theme music being kept? Be nice if they kept it for Studio 13 but similarly it'd be nice if they created a new one equally as good. Thoughts?
  18. if youre looking for scare mazes outside of theme parks theres always Tulleys Farm in Crawley!! its like, a majorly critically acclaimed 'scream park' not too far from London, you should try it out =) still pretty overpriced though!!
  19. SAW was broken down almost all day on Wednesday, not that I particularly minded tbh, its probably my least favourite coaster there. That's not to say its all bad, the theming is great and the inside section is awesome... its just rough and unreliable and tbh the outside section and the main drop are slightly underwhelming. I swear it was a lot better when it first opened. I find it to be more painful than Colossus, though perhaps that's because Colossus has more going on and is tbh overall better IMO and it distracts you from the pain Either way- NOT impressed with an all day break down!
  20. YAY =) really disappointed it wasn't operating on my visit ='(
  21. I noticed this during my recent visit! Not only that, but we waited a good hour and a half to get in when the wait time was allegedly 40mins and when we got into the station we noticed that the attendants were just chatting and laughing away instead of regularly letting guests through, checking lap bars and- you know- actually operating the ride! This was honestly quite irritating to see, but other than that its a great ride as far as interactive shooters go (when everything is working!!) and actually my favourite in the country =)
  22. Is it just me or do the new IP mazes lack such consistent theming as this?? I mean, every room is so intricately detailed, now it seems the only remaining maze to this standard is SAW. Cabin and MBV had their moments of theming brilliance but seemed to be lacklustre in places with scarcely themed hallways and rooms that looked rushed at random intervals. Hopefully this is something they can improve on, but again it's just my own personal opinion =P

    X

Sad to say when I last went on X they had way to many lights on, and not just lasers and stuff... they had like normal lights on in places and you could see loads =O dunno why the did that but it seems to have been remedied =3
  24. Okay I'm insanely bored so: End of 2014 overlapping into 2015: - Removal of Slammer... it seems to be heading that way as it is. - Clean up of the park overall: repaints done where needed and effects maintained. Fire could maybe be added to Nemesis Inferno and brought back on Tidal Wave. SAW could get some more theming outdoors that you can see as you go round, just to make the whole experience as immersive as the inside section. - A new maze replaces The Asylum at Fright Night, potentially Texas Chainsaw Massacre if they're sticking with the IP's. 2015: - Storm Surge is removed and the area is cleaned up for future usage. - Themed areas become more apparent and are stated on the map- this could add to family appeal, as well as make the theming appear more organised and up to scratch. - Plans for the new coaster on the new island are revealed- it is either an intense Flyer or a Hyper (two things that would be equally great IMO) - New flat ride is bought to replace Slammer. It doesn't have to be big and flashy, maybe just a standard Top Spin or even a large Swinging Boat type ride (about the size of Black Buccaneer at Chessington) that is somehow themed to Canada Creek. A ride of this type would also add family appeal while still being somewhat thrilling. 2016: - Construction begins on the new rollercoaster. - Rush's restraints (or at least the few REALLY bad ones) are replaced so they don't wobble so much and make guests feel unsafe. - New Scarezone added for Fright Nights, in somewhere more central to the park. You will literally just wander through, no queue's (like the ones they do abroad). This could probably be You're Next, it would be a more effective use of it than just the roaming actors. 2017: - The new rollercoaster opens and everyone loves it and it looks amazing xD ... I really cant think any further ahead this is hurting my brain xD
  25. Yeah, Rush seems to have been on super short cycles... dunno if that's just me but I guess this is a discussion for another topic xD As for Vortex: went down to the park again on Wednesday and it's still going strong- had a super long queue too =O
