I'm sure the announcements are something Merlin are bringing in to reassure guests. I took my daughter on Mia's Riding Adventure at Legoland and during the checks the op had to say "you're secure" for every single rider. Partaking in geekery since 1985

There are some great soundtracks out there, but my love for video game music came during the chip tunes era of Commodore 64 and later; the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis). A personal favourite of mine is Stage 1 of Streets of Rage: https://youtu.be/5bf-EGuMfag Partaking in geekery since 1985

It's too slow over the top hat to gain airtime even with a lapbar. Partaking in geekery since 1985

Visited the shop for the first time yesterday. I thought it was just a picture of Derren Brown on the wall so thought nothing of it. A couple of minutes later I Iooked up and he had moved and was glaring straight at me with a look of disgust! Freaked me out lol! Anyway, what a great shop. Love the fortune telling machine in the corner too. Partaking in geekery since 1985

Nobody saying "well done Thorpe, good job, really played a blinder there", people are just happy to see a second train in operation finally so they can queue for less time, there's nothing wrong with that.Or we could all just carry on in a grump regardless....... Partaking in geekery since 1985

People are like this everywhere. My dad has Multiple Sclerosis and got a snotty note on his windscreen when he parked in a Sainsburys disabled bay. Despite having a valid disabled badge this note writing idiot assumed my dad was fine because he didn't have a leg hanging off! As with a lot of disabilities he has good days and bad days. These people giving evil looks to disabled riders need to get some perspective. Yes, they'll have a wait in the main queue for a little longer, but hey, at least they have the luxury of yer know, NOT BEING DISABLED!! Partaking in geekery since 1985

Why don't they just call this event an "Annual Pass Soft Opening" or something, then maybe people will expect issues. Partaking in geekery since 1985

What? Is piggybacking not a valid medical practice? What the hell is wrong with these people! Jeez! Partaking in geekery since 1985

To be honest I absolutely adore this soundtrack. It fits so well! Partaking in geekery since 1985

Thing is, Thorpe have an apocalyptic theme on Swarm Island, they'll have a dark psychologically scary ride with Ghost Train, they have a horror ride ride with Saw and now possibly another horror attraction with Containment? If it was done in a large theme park with a darkly themed zone where all of these rides were located then it would make sense, but Thorpe is too small, and the positioning of these rides are sporadic at best! People had a problem with depressing warehouses and destruction before Ghost Train and Containment even came along. Personally I never saw it in that way, but Thorpe are pushing things a little too far now. I'm genuinely confused at where the hell they are heading with the park! I'm looking forward to Ghost Train, but this Containment idea is getting me a little concerned. It's honestly starting to shape up as the bleakest day out in Britain! Partaking in geekery since 1985

Nothing says "trying to capture the lost family market" quite like a scare maze eh? Welcome to Thorpe Park: A bleak island like no other......... Partaking in geekery since 1985

Uuurgh! The Mirror makes me sick in my mouth a little....... They seem to like putting "the" unnecessarily at the start of ride names, maybe I should do it with them, The The Mirror. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

You try and tell my four year old daughter and other young children that The Flume is terrible, they will beg to differ. Regardless of everybody's opinions on the ride quality, it DID bring something to the table and will be a fairly big loss. Edit: And while I think about it, she also really enjoyed the driving school and to a lesser extent Charlie. The only one she wasn't that keen on was Hex. It just goes to show, what the adults enjoy and consider important don't always reflect a child's point of view. Almost all of these closures, especially all together is a BIG problem. The youngsters are just as important and they are taking quite a big hit with this. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Last season as far as I'm aware Logger's didn't have an incident, however, both Rumba and Storm Surge had people leave the boat! Yet these will continue to run next season. Seems strange if it's a H&S thing. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Thorpe had better close Depth Charge and Storm Surge too then. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

While I agree that it's a lot of psychology, I have also seen him hammer a nail into his nostril. That's a flat out magic trick. His psychological stuff is pretty amazing though. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

The choice of coasters is small for my daughter (she's only 4 years old) but she loves a coaster and thinks X is "really fun". It would be a shame to remove it as it's so much better than its old backwards in the dark days. Longest queues on the park today too. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
