  1. I generally enjoy Colossus, but my last ride was dreadful (I was in about row 4). I purposely left some space between me and the restraint for comfort, but during the first drop the harness just tightenend up way too much. This made the ride needlessly uncomfortable. So far, the only times I've enjoyed it this year are in the front row. This thing needs a repaint and/or a change of trains as it's only going to get worse, I honestly find it worse than Saw at this moment in time
  2. Currently I intend to start at Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro, followed by Superman and Green lantern, then go clockwise from there. Is that a good plan?
  3. I always saw Kanonen as one of those smaller charming little (big) roller coasters. I'm all up for them getting a B&M dive coaster but something just doesn't seem right about them removing Kanonen. However, I haven't ridden it, or been to Liseberg (or been to Sweden) so many opinion may not be very valid.
  4. Special thanks to Celia Mae for organising the BTS and the meet! Despite having done the tour before, there was a lot of new info I learnt which was rather fascinating (code platinum ). A not too busy day with decent weather with a few coaster geeks made up to an amazing day out!
  5. I recently had an obsession with Dodonpa (my favourite roller coaster name). I think this changed layout will reboot my obsession
  6. When I would get nervous before rides, the thing I would mainly be nervous for wasn't actually the part of the experience that scared me. E.g. When I rode Summit Plummet, my main worry was that I though I would fly off the front of the slide (as it is really steep) and the height I thought would freak me out. None of those worries were my issues during the slide, the actual scary part was the speed in which I was falling. Because of that, I found the slide more surprising than scary. Another example, when I rode Stealth for the first time. Before I rode it, I didn't really pay any attention to the idea of a launch so what I was nervous for was in fact the drop. That all changed when the launched freaked me out and the drop was literally nothing. My message here is that what you may be nervous for in a ride, may not be the aspect that actually scares you.
  7. 1 hour (with regular traffic) by car, sadly 4 hours from Towers
  8. Sorry for the double post, but as I've noticed that I have quite a lot of money left over from my birthday in August, I've decided that I will take part in the BTS
  9. The back row, inside seat is the least painful seat by far. Sure, you don't get a great view. But you are actually able to enjoy the ride
  10. Seeing as there are less seats per train, the throughput will be a lot lower than Stealth's (if running on two trains). Though I have seen Shambhala run on 3 trains before, so I don't see why this couldn't.
  11. Are those types of lap bars comfortable? I'm only asking because they look very similar to Skyrush's restraints which are said to dig into your thighs.
  12. When listening to any piece/song, the bass is one of the biggest features that stand out to me. Bass any day Arco or Pizzicato?
  13. Pancakes only just slightly Brass or woodwind?
  14. Will we be paying for this over this site? Or will we just give the money in on the day?
  15. DBGT's 2nd half visuals or the music video for 'Money for Nothing'? (This should be a no-brainer)
  16. The two times I've been to PA, I got fastpasses both times so I didn't really pay attention to the operations as I was beating the queues anyway. I didn't have much of a problem with the food either. The only issues I remember was having one member of staff at the photobooth on Shambhala and being misguided with how out tickets were to be redeemed.
  17. Shambhala takes it again! We now have the group of Shambhala fans: 'Airtime Falcon' (myself) DeanGaryCox Ryan imindetonator ben199 Marc EC! (granted nothing has changed since California) TPJames Do be aware that I may've not covered everyone...
  18. The height aspect on Falcon's Fury is really the only scary part, the drop is nothing, I personally find detonator "scarier" than Falcon's Fury.
  19. As some of you may know, I was promised a trip to Six Flags Great Adventure (New York is the overall trip) depending on my GCSE results and because the results corresponded with my parents' promise, I'm offically going to this place and everything is booked. I just wanted to simply ask for any advice from anyone who's been here or anyone who knows more about it than I do so I'll put it into the following questions: Do most of the rides have front row queues? If so, do they get very long? Is the Safari Off Road Adventure worth the 40 minutes? (I don't want my entire family to be bored but at the same time, my mum and my brother aren't big on major rides so I want them to be able to do attractions they will enjoy). What time of day are the queues the largest? What are the chances of Kingda Ka breaking down? Are Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro still not allowed to run together? Is this crowd calendar reliable? (If it is, then I'm saved!) http://www.isitpacked.com/crowd-calendars/six-flags-great-adventure/ Is there anything else I should know before going to this park? I don't need any advice about accomodation or travel as that's been dealt with. Don't feel like you have to answer all questions in one post, if you have an answer to one question just post it
  20. I didn't get round to riding either of those two purely because the queues were 90+ minutes
  21. Dark rides don't impress me that much unless there's a great physical aspect to it (such as Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror). Because of this I didn't see the hype in Kong especially when I rode it and it is also why I prefer parks which are all about the roller coasters (and the few flat rides).
  22. Well I'm now satisfied, the last three visits to TP were missing the great adrenalin rush you get out of Stealth (the launch still gets me every time), now I will once again be able to experience that adrenalin rush!
