Ian-S reacted to Coaster in Chessington General Discussion
I'm sure it's in the T&C's but nevertheless, the zoo has always been included in the Merlin passes during winter opening, and for people who aren't interested in the Christmas grotto etc, why should they have to pay?
It's just yet another example of Merlin trying to squeeze money out of people who have already bought the passes, and spent money in the parks/attractions.

Ian-S reacted to Coaster in Chessington General Discussion
On a personal level I have no interest in attending Winter's Tale, but this has come to my attention today and I find it outrageous;
https://www.chessington.com/christmas/
So, a passholder, someone who has already given their loyalty (and money!) to Merlin, is now expected to pay £16 for the privilege of a zoo, a grotto (despite the fact they might not even want to visit the grotto) and a few other things. Unless I've missed it, there aren't even any rides open this year so the value has in fact been reduced!
How can they justify this? What about passholders who just want to visit the zoo, and are not interested in the grotto?
Chessington didn't need any more reasons to justify calling it an diabolical park but they've done it again, it's almost like Merlin are trying to go for the worst theme park of 2016 award. You cannot be taken seriously when all you do is continuously reduce the value of the MAP's, whether it be all the cuts to the theme parks, poor management during busy days, and now this! What an awful, awful company.

I prefer the dictionary not wiki but they essentially say the same:
Although I sometimes wonder whether the PR department realise their every word is picked apart for clues and hidden meaning like a Westworld episode is.
Shame, I had a soft spot for loggers, was my first flume ever and I got to share that with a lovely childhood friend who sadly never lived to see her 17th birthday.

Redevelopment and renovations have two completely different meanings.
What is it they are saying now? Redevelopment? Then say your goodbyes now, redevelopment implies being torn down and something being put in its place.

Like Brexit it'll probably calm down once people see sense, but until then batton down those hatches.
Would Trump get away with repealing stuff like Gay Marriage? Any political students in here that can explain American Politics to us? I don't think it would be so simple as him snapping his fingers and it hapenning, it would have to go to the Senate and even though he controls that, there's no guarantee they would approve it and even then the Supreme Court could block it as being unconstitutional. He can't touch abortionn laws at all but if you took everything he said as gospel you'd think he could.
Moral of that story being do your own homework and don't rely on Fox News as your source.
Hopefully if the DNC learn anything from this, it's not to do deals with nasty people and actually put forward your best candidate to win, not the one you want to win.

Perhaps we'll go there next year, we were supposed to go to Alton but couldn't and by all accounts it was just as well if you've seen some of the complaints on fb.

I wish more people shared the level of maturity on display here, perhaps there is hope for humanity.

Why not? Can't be any worse than branding a dark ride around a nonexistent animal.

It's been such a shame to see so much hatred between two opposing views over the last few months. In the past, such events have got to the point of being classed as "heated", but the fact that mass acts of violence (both physically and verbally) have been committed in arguments over who supports who, is very worrying.
It seems that people tend to forget that we're all part of one single race. And that's the human race. We are all members of one body, and we must all care and have respect for one another in order to see anything close to "peace". I'm not an American citizen, however this is a plead to mankind; respect each other, don't bring ideology, race, gender or belief systems into it. We all bleed the same blood. Individualism is the way forward.

They really have started chopping the end of the season off, I'm not sure but I'm pretty certain we were there the first weekend in November last year, for those of us that have no interest in FN, it means the season ends at the end of September for all intent and purpose.

I said sex education as a whole shouldn't be taught to 6-8 year olds (the present proposals), not that LGBT stuff shoukdn't.
When/if you have kids that age, you'll understand

I'm guessing the space will be left open till their next major investment year, which considering DBGT probably cost a bomb being closed for so long, having so many technical issues, and being a bit of a disaster all around, may be a while. I wouldn't expect to see anything there for at least 4 or so years. I hope I am wrong.
Just saying though, I really hope they move that Colossus spinning jump thing over to Old Town and rename it Loggers Leap, imagine the salt that would inspire from the enthusiast community! It would be hilarious!
