TBF Merlin could not do anything more to disrespect the classic Professor Burp's Bubbleworks.. Honestly I would like them to just change everything, theme to it robot aliens and it'll make more sense than a Imperial Leather factory with ducks in the middle of transylvania? The Original was classic and somewhat worked, but Merlin have ruined it, why just change it with something new? As BubbleWorks in its current state is 5 minute boat ride advertisement for Imperial Leather..
  2. I've done both multiple times, and Sub Species is way scarier IMO. Though the final 5 minutes of Chop Shop is manic, and the theming is pretty amazing. And on another note Pandaemonium looks very intresting, Tulleys seem to like changing there Clown Maze yearly. But this will probably be a massive change to it though, and the 3D element is gonna be very exciting to see how they utilise it. It seems like they ditched The Volt in a heartbeat though, which is understandable.. Still puzzled why they've kept Hellements, its starting to get dire beyond belief..

TBF I think the atmosphere of the X Sector is more disturbing than a vague logo for a horror maze. The logo has no gore/blood in it, so why would a kid be disturbed?

To directly quote it from the website: Sub Species-"Only suitable for those aged 15 or over" Skin Snatchers- "You must be over 15+ years old to enter this maze" TOTT- "You must be over 12+ years old to enter this maze" So it seems like Sub Species will be somewhat advisory, but with Skin Snatchers it seems like a restriction.
  5. Usually its very busy around the October Half Term, but the first weekend should be alright. But OH god avoid Halloween like the plague, then its practically 3 Hours for any Popular Ride/Maze.

Molly Crowe was probably my least favorite last year, but it was pretty great. If Alton fit the hood element in with the story, it could work. But Hood mazes are very hit/miss, and I would prefer something without the hood gimmick, unless its for a short period of the attraction as @MilesK said. Looking at it, Skin Snatchers is advertised as the only maze with 15+ rating. Which maybe means its going to be very graphic? As the theme is very grim, and I can see it being very gory.
  7. Merlin is pretty good with food IMO, Thorpe in particular has pretty great food. Alton Towers being pretty decent also, (well Burger Kitchen is...Meh.) I gotta admit when I was at Six Flags Over Texas the food was unbearable.. Like it took ages to get the food, it was overpriced, and ended up being worse than McDonalds..

Yay. I'm gonna miss all those people moaning on social media though.. Thorpe's Facebook made a good comedy if I was bored..
  9. When have the Operations at Merlin Parks ever been good?
  10. I don't know how TBT will work round the MBV area.. The only good thing about TBT last year was the outside and the atmosphere with amity beach. Also does this mean something else going to Amity Beach? As I highly doubt another maze coming this year. And I don't know how there gonna fit TBT into that space, MBV (a fairly small maze) barely squeezed into that space.
  11. Maybe there turning MBV's shipping containers into Fastrack Booths..
  12. I think Big Top had a lot of potential, the exterior was great, but it was just poorly executed.. The first tent was the main reason Big Top gets a lot flak, which is one actor pointing you to a twisted maze of black felt walls with no theming whatsoever.. The second tent is not bad, but throughout the maze it seems to lack actors. There are some decent scare tactics, but there are so many clowns mazes out there, Big Top being one of the weaker ones..

I personally wouldn't like it to have a hooded section. I suspect a mine-type theme, with a MBV type approach with a cannibalistic feel. As MBV is gone now, I wonder if there gonna reuse MBV's theming?
  14. Well this happened in Castaway Camp (A Playground)... And the assault could of happened in seconds, most parents will have a quick look at there phones.. And BAM, the incident happened.. Also some parts of the playground are out of sight for the parents, so I don't think its fair to blame the parents.. I think we should stop shaming the Park/Parents and start to focus on the real person to blame here..
  15. When people leave a facebook comment on the awful incident that happened at Legoland, and blame the Parents and the Park and not the offender..
  16. Things like this make really appreciate Europa not having a fastrack system.. And now its even easier to buy fastrack...
  17. Being creative is good, but it has to be effective.. Sometimes you can be totally unoriginal but if you do that maze to a high standard it will still be good. Big Top is a total example of that, it is a very unoriginal idea, and even worse done to a poor standard.. Containment was IMO very mediocre, some puzzles where too complicated, some where too easy.. And the intro was a bore, I also didn't get a single scare. Clown Mazes are good when there done well, Big Top was poorly received due to lack of theming, and some exceptionally poor scenes.. Like the Clairvoyant Tent, which you walk straight into the tent, before the actors points you into the next section.. Which is loads of black felt walls, no theming, no actors in this section. This scene alone gives Big Top a bad name.. Well Fright Nights has fell behind the market recently.. There's so many events right now in the scare industry, Screamland,Scarefest, Sceamfest Burton, which all wipe the floor with Fright Nights.. Thorpe's mazes are usually very short, and with the popularity of the event, waiting three hours for a poor maze like TBT is not worth it. I like Frights Nights, but thinking about it, it was a massive joke last year. The event could/and has been so much better.
  18. TBH Fright Nights hasn't been been all that good recently.. When the market is ever so growing, and scare events are coming up with amazing ideas, Fright Nights just seem poor.. Thorpe need to do something amazing, something like Experiment 10, something which pushes the bar of Scare Attractions.. Instead of sh!tting out unfinished mazes like Big Top.

Its kinda boring though, there's loads of pointless turns.. But that giant duck though..
  20. I think a reason a late opening wouldn't work is due to the lack of live entertainment around the park. For example you could spend 2/3 days at parks like PA or Europa as the shows break up time. But a fireworks event like they do at PA would be nice in the summer, but I just don't seeing it happening..
  21. Why just standing? How about Standing and VR? If there going to make it insufferable why just ruin the throughput while there at it..

New for Fright Nights this year: The Cabin In The Back Of X- Face unused parts of Q-Line, as you navigate piss-poor theming and good actors. The Bear Witch Project- You know all those bears from CCR? Well they've been let loose. Will you get eaten alive? No Because Health And Safety.. The Big Flop- Do you like blank felt walls? Do you like no theming? Well, this the maze for you. Saw Alive- Do you hate how Merlin add "Alive" to every attraction. Well this is just as bad. Platform 100000- Adding random numbers to mazes make them scarier.. According to Merlin anyways.. Containment- Do you like paying extra? Do you like paying extra for something which is not worth it? FASTRACK BOOTHS- Wanna enjoy your visit without fainting in the three hour ques? Well come and buy your expensive fastrack here, we offer some of the best customer service. And it will only take a hour to get your fastrack!
  23. Well guys, its still a better concept than a Vekoma SLC. The first drop will be probably give too many G's for a human being to endure,(I'm no engineer so correct me if I'm wrong). And after that you get a overdose of hangtime, before bashing to the ground and having serious head injuries TBH its too similar to Colossus, the head bashing, the overdose of hangtime..
  24. Yeah Skyfly's aren't the best with throughput. But Slingshot/Skydivers throughput is intolerable, maybe even worse than IAC.
  25. But aren't those types of rides pretty tall, I doubt it would fit in the height limit. Plus the throughput is pathetic, unless they make it upcharge. I place my bets on a Gerstlauer Skyfly, or maybe Merlin will pull a "Six Flags" and add Larson Loopers and market them as coasters..
