Agree - I actually quite like Colossus (this is quite controversial but I prefer it over Inferno) BUT in all honesty I can't see them getting new trains or getting a paint job - God knows how much that would cost and if they would even want to invest in it - I'd also like to see the medusa pit looking nice and clean again but its been skanky for years!   My most recent ride on Colossus was beyond painful but then I was near the back - usually I find it much better nearer the front. Would be so much better with lap bars - no head banging!

I'm a big fan of Colossus actually. I prefer it to both saw and Stealth (I know I have an odd opinion). I don't actually recall having an agonisingly rough ride on it - not that that could be said for Saw which seems to bruise me all over.

New trains would definitely be a positive change and one that I'd like to see soon. However, I don't think Colossus will last much longer as it's throughout is low and footprint has the potential for something much bigger and better.

    I give it until 2021...

Must be something in the air since I broke another tooth over the weekend, got any of that valium going spare?

Considering, I'm now convinced my teeth issues are related to the equinox since I always suffer bad tooth ache while the earth shifts on it's axis, never at any other time of the year, anybody got a spare tin foil hat?

    You can borrow one...

  3. I think a dive coaster really suits this park. It'll be the only coaster with a big drop and it's height will look impressive. Plus they reallllly get the crowds in. They are so marketable and if this is the smaller variant (which I think it is), it will probably have a really unique layout.

To me, this coaster suits the park to a tee.

  4. I'm not much of a horror maze guy,so I guess I'm pretty naive when it comes to face it alone. I used to think that the maze and the actors behaviour would be the same as on conventional run-throughs, only with the twist of doing the maze on your own. However, after reading others experiences, I can safely say that FIA sounds like my absolute idea of hell.

I just don't find being scared enjoyable. My fear is probably spurred from doing The asylum 3 years ago. It was my fist ever maze and the whole experienced really terrified me. There was absolutely no let up in the asylum - not time to relax. Actors absolutely everywhere.

Since then I've done Blair, Cabin and Saw twice each. Though I didn't really enjoy any of them.

Well its pretty much confirmed that I'll be heading to PA on a school trip in May, so very excited! Id better get down to Thorpe (or Towers!) And get on a big coaster in time!

Wow! I'm not jealous at all. How are schools able to do that these days?

  6. I've had a bit of a thing for this park since I first heard about it a few years ago.

I don't think it does theming or atmosphere very well, but that seems to be made up by its selection of coasters.

All of them seem bizarre - but very enjoyable!  Especially Dodonpa, that's been very high up on my bucket list for years - as has Eejanaika and Fujiyama and Takabisha!

Got 2 rides on Ghost Train yesterday, each time I'm going on it I'm enjoying it more, however that 2nd VR section is still bollocks.

Operations towards the end of the day were incredibly poor, our group was held up in the area between the pre show and the ride for about 10 minutes, and by the time we got in the train so many people were put in in one go that the operators struggled to find everyone a seat, it was a bit of a mess.

One old guy attempted to sit on the floor as a form of protest but the operators were having none of it as there was definitely a free seat somewhere.

So that's where Jeremy Corbyn's been hiding since Brexit. ;)

Dark rides don't impress me that much unless there's a great physical aspect to it (such as Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror).

Because of this I didn't see the hype in Kong especially when I rode it and it is also why I prefer parks which are all about the roller coasters (and the few flat rides).

I presume that's why you prefer DLP to WDW

  9. But I think there's a small difference between "loving care" and making improvements.

For example, the fact that Rita's entrance and surrounding area was being improved by vines and posters I think was a very good thing to do, and one that the park didn't have to do. Therefore when it was announced under the TLC programme, I wasn't thinking 'why  are they telling me this?'

To me that was a noticeable improvement and one that isn't expected in theme parks world wide.

What I wasn't happy about was that pressure cleaning Battle Galleons (for example) was being marketed as a wonderful thing due to the TLC scheme.

So, sorry if this post sounds contrived and slightly confusing, but my point is that I'm fine with theme parks advertising improvements (E.G Python or Rita) but what I'm not fine with is Theme parks advertising every time they pick up some rubbish.
