I'm hoping for a woodie, but in all honesty I don't mind what type of coaster we get. All I want is for it to put Towers and England on the map for roller coasters. So many British coasters are mediocre and I don't want this to be one.
  2. Good old clamshells.
  3. No, he's wansn't taking the p***, the man in the station was! I presume it's real, otherwise why would you make up such a vile story.
  4. 5ft 6. I'm about the upper quartile of my year's heights. I guess I just have a short year...
  5. Well, I find that the youth of today use numerous words that ONLY our generation would understand. Dank is one of them. The official old fashioned definition is that dank means unpleasantly cold or damp. However, when teens say dank, they use it as an ajective to decribe how the subject is of high quality. E.G: Those burritos were dank (This burritos were really nice) That's a dank top (That's a really nice top) Dank also describes how the subject is aesthetically pleasing.E.G: That's such a dank girl (That's such a good looking girl) The youth also can substitute Dank for either piff, or buff, which both mean the exact same thing as dank. So if when your niece gets older you hear her say " fanta's buff, but coke's danker," you'll know what the heck she's in about, Hope that helps?

I still don't think any of these beat my frog one from a page ago. You'll have to up your game...
  7. I envy your height Miles. What's it measures in? Miles? I'll go off and slap myself...
  8. It's really trimmed, hence the nickname "the world's biggest family coaster!" I disagree with that interpretation entirely, but hopefully Mako will be lesses trimmed.
  9. Doesn't Nitrogenie look a bit weird next to DBGT...
  10. I have recently been deciding whether I prefer B&M or Intamin. My conclusion Is B&M, however both companies could, improve. Firstly I'm surprised Intamin haven't tried to use a model of B&M as inspiration for a new type of coaster. Intamin's coasters are all sitting above the track (bar Volcano and Baco) and the company need to introduce their own invert, their own wing coaster, their own dice coaster ETC. All of which are popular B&M models. In addition, B&M could learn from Intamin. B&M did their first launch coaster with Thunderbird last year. I now think it's time for them to start creating launch coasters regularly. I'd love to see an Intamin wing coaster (again excluding Baco) and I'd love to see B&M regularly install launch coasters.
  11. I'd say not. Others may say yes. Is the layout largely the same for all 3 lanes? If it is then I'd only count it as one credit, as it's basically riding a racing roller coaster which, in my opinion, only counts as one credit.

The Smiler Magic mountain or Great Adventure?
  13. Equoaster never said that Nitro was the fastest hyper, just faster than Silver Star. So he was never comparing the speed to that of Shambhala (the fastest hyper). Equoaster, do you know if they use different wheels?
  14. ^ Yes, it's going to have some kind of coaster themed to Slinky. (Sorry it's TPR!)
  15. At the moment is it only me, Cian, Miles and Jonny up for playing? Any more players?
  16. Last Saturday I got absolutely drenched. I had a great ride too. It seemed faster and less passive than before.

McDonald's. I'm lovin' it. CBeebies land or Cloud Cuckoo land?
  19. I thought calling shambhala shammy b was a thing... I do think B&M hypers look great, but they're not comparible to intamin hypers. For floater airtime I'd take B&M any day, however, intamins such as superman (used to be bizzarro), expedition GeForce and skyrush offer something that I don't think B&M hypers have got. My argument may be considered largely invalid as I have ridden neither a B&M hyper or an Intamin one, but if anyone's ridden a hyper of either manufacturer which one did you prefer?

T-Rex track just seem like a gimmick and I have no idea how riding on it creates a different (or enhanced) experience for riders. At this point in time, my front runners are a GCI, an RMC (not T-Rex track) or an aquatrax. (Why is there so much fascination for aquatrax, it's potentially the least exciting piece of coaster technology in this decade?)

    Hyper. Gravity group or GCI?
  22. CharlieN replied to EC!'s topic in UK Attractions
Joris looks great and is exactly what I think would complement Tower's beautiful landscape. GCI combines traditional airtime focused rides with those more focusing on speed and twisty elements. It's a perfect combination that I'm sure would be a popular investment if Towers ever got a GCI.
  23. I'd love to ride a hyper, but I simply haven't had the chance to do it. I don't go abroad much, so I need the UK to get one for me to ride.

I, too, have never been on a woodie (I'd love to. I've got plans to visit Margate, Lightwater Valley, Oakwood and numerous international theme parks known for their woodies). Saying that, I do understand your point and that question has been asked numerous times by friends. I, however don't really have a good answer to the question... This 'Blackpool' interpretation needs to be challenged and I believe that will only happen when a big park (Towers) gets a smooth woodie from a comany such as Intamin, GCI or RMC. All these companies are capable of producing rides with fun layouts that can make people trust wood again.
