  1. I'd love to ride a hyper, but I simply haven't had the chance to do it. I don't go abroad much, so I need the UK to get one for me to ride.

I, too, have never been on a woodie (I'd love to. I've got plans to visit Margate, Lightwater Valley, Oakwood and numerous international theme parks known for their woodies). Saying that, I do understand your point and that question has been asked numerous times by friends. I, however don't really have a good answer to the question... This 'Blackpool' interpretation needs to be challenged and I believe that will only happen when a big park (Towers) gets a smooth woodie from a comany such as Intamin, GCI or RMC. All these companies are capable of producing rides with fun layouts that can make people trust wood again.
  3. Cian the deer whisperer. I feel as if over the course of your holiday your naturalist knowledge has quadrupled to the level that you could now lecture me on how to speak to deers.
  4. Yep, the webcam mysteriously went black for 10 minutes, it's now back, but not facing valravn...

It didn't look like much of a coaster... Currently, I'm so much more hyped for this than DBGT. It's probably just due to the fact that I'm a coaster man. I don't think the problem with wood coasters is that the GP think they're unsafe, it's more that people think they are boring. I know many friends who think that there is no need to create coasters out of wood when steel is clearly a more versatile material. This common interpretation that wood coasters can't be thrilling, needs to be changed, and I believe Towers is the park that can do it. RMC for SW8!
  6. My entertainment for the past hour... I have to say, this coaster does look very impressive. I can't wait for the floor to be sorted out because it's still a right mess!
  7. Yep I agree, was great fun last time.
  8. 1/10 Billy scares the life out of me!
  9. So, today I discovered why my friends class me as a nerd: I spent an hour watching the live webcam of valravn to see if I could catch it testing. It didn't test, nothing moved, just the clouds. It's now that I realise that I have been staring at the equivalent of a photo for an hour - an hour that I shall never get back.
  10. They are really weird! Might be due to H&S or just unuasual theming.

Air wasn't a world's first either. It was Europe's first flying coaster, not the world's.I suppose you could argue that air is the world's first B&M flying coaster though! The longer we wait for an announcement, the more I pray that SW8 will be an RMC. I'm sure AT would settle for a Europe's first with an RMC too. E.G: Europe's first launched wooden coaster or Europe's first wave turn Etc. Also, it makes me laugh how Google maps has already labelled SW8 and this picture shows off the space AT have to work with.
  12. I have a mild Gatekeeper obsession.
  13. Shakespeare. Schools jump to straight to big bill and skip Dahl and his fantastic novels.Whilst this investment does not excite me, it looks to be a positive investment for the park. Well known (ish!) trademark too.
  14. Yep. The winner gets to go next although I forget this rule last time... Sorry Matt Creek!
  15. I have to agree with Tommy here. UK theme parks do make mistakes and they all could undoubtedly be better, but if it doesn't stop people visiting then the issue will be low down on Thorpe Park's agenda. You're not going to avoid going to Thorpe Park because Colossus is on 1 train operation are you?
  16. I was in the queue for Zodiac when it broke down last week. Worst though was Storm Surge closing while I was literally in the raft... I know it will improve, but it needs to improve soon. We're 2 weeks into the season already!
  17. https://www.change.org/p/merlin-thorpe-park-bring-back-summer-nights-thorpe-park-please It's not my petition but it's exactly what we wanted! Let's get it to 200 signatures.
  18. According to the Galaxy Gear VR website, the headsets have a 96 degree field of vision.
  19. I honestly only think the reason the headsets are compulsory is to achieve a worlds first. The New Revolution is already operating, therefore this could not be claimed as the worlds first virtual reality rollercoaster*, but it has to now be titled worlds first fully dedicated VR roller coaster. *worlds first virtual reality coaster with no additional costs for guests.
  20. That attempt at mild humour at the end made me feel sick. Seriously AT, pull yourself together.
