I could be mistaken, but I am also guessing that how you use fastrack isn't restricted to one per haunt?? So in theory you could just stand in the regular lines for those that usually get short queues like Cellar, Creepy Cottage and the Circus of horror without wasting a fastrack and then potentially use two on the likes of penitentiary and hayride which are usually full to the rafters. If that's the case then that's not too bad a deal I think. EDIT: just watched the announcement video and that is exactly how you can use fastrack

As great as the event is, I very much feel last year was where they did expand too much. As you say, unless you went on a quiet evening then if you didn't have at least a fastrack package then you probably more likely than not would not have got a sniff at getting all of the haunts done. This also inevitably means missing out on the general atmosphere of the place outside the haunts as you find yourself rushing to the point of not being able to enjoy it fully. To me, 8 haunts max is plenty especially given the sheer length of most of them. Although maybe it's all a big incentive to get people to go back for a second visit during the Halloween season.

VIP to exceed £100 on all dates and the other takeaway is it looks like all tickets will entitle the holder to unlimited goes through each made. Doing away with the whole "1 go through each" Part of me feels that having every ticket entitled to unlimited goes could very well lead to a disaster for the event in terms of queue management especially if the fastrack/VIP line is long for any reason.

Wonder if the beautiful smell of weed you get across Thorpe park will be featured in the long run!! 😮

Well the positive is visitors in theory will no longer have to sit in the car park for the same length of time it takes to sit back and watch Empire strikes back!! A good move from Thorpe.

For it's age, Magnum is one brilliant coaster and one of the coasters I most look forward to whenever I visit the point!! Such a pioneering coaster for the industry and that is so often overlooked in the community. Hope it has a long future at the park.

Double post but oh well I find it amusing how many are reporting the ongoing technical problems with rise of the resistance. Makes you wonder what people expected from a highly complex/technologically advanced attraction that is a couple of weeks into it's opening. Other news: water is wet.

Exactly I like to think the mood on a forum dedicated to any park would reflect the current state of the park in question. If Thorpe park was doing brilliant like it was from 2000 up until the swarm with a promising future ahead of it, then these forums would be buzzing!! The reality is that with the park being right in the doldrums and has been on a massive decline for years with poor investments, along with no clear direction in terms of where the park is going, aswell as rides just abandoned unfortunately will lead to negativity. Hardly surprising when arguably the most enjoyable thing the park has given their guests since the swarm is a damn bouncy castle. Just the nature of the beast. I refuse to believe that there is some form of witch hunt towards Merlin because when they get it right with things like Wicker Man and scarefest at Alton Towers then people will praise them with the praise they deserve and likewise when they mess up then they will get the criticism in the hope things get better. People don't complain because it's fun or in fashion. People (myself included) do so because they know that Thorpe Park can do better and in those golden years I mentioned HAS done better.

Thank christ there's a Tesco not too far away from the park!! Love those sandwiches!!

So long as it actually reopens and they don't lie and say it's going to make a return and then keep it closed for years before finally announcing it's dead after it's been rotting away for a period, I'll be happy as Larry. Although I can't see ANYONE being that unprofessional to do that.

Halloween Fright Nights - Walibi Holland
Martin Doyle commented on JoshC.'s blog entry in The C. View
Another very good write up Josh!! The quality of this event and in particular, The Clinic and below is absolutely wonderful!! Scare zones are also well done and the four standard mazes also are very acceptable attractions. In terms of the crowds, I was there on a Saturday and it was manic with Untamed clocking in at just under 3 hours at one point. I would highly recommend fastlane. I bit the bullet and got the Platinum (or whatever it was called) package that knocks 90 percent off the queues and managed 12 goes on Lost Gravity, 8 on Goliath and a whopping 30 on Untamed so it's very good value for money in the sense of how it works and how quickly it actually gets you on the rides and especially good for those who love their rerides particularly when taken into account the sheer length of queue each major ride amassed. The RIP pass is also something I would recommend to those wanting to do the mazes. Each maze had queues of atleast an hour when I was present so the RIP pass was also worth the price. Not keen on upcharging for mazes when the gate prices have already been increased for Halloween but with the quality each maze had, suppose I could justify the upcharge. Crowd levels aside (which is to be expected on a Saturday in fairness), a truely wonderful event and an event I would recommend people visiting if the opportunity presents itself. -

Apparently it costs up to quarter of a million a month to run and takes up a third of the parks power supply. Don't know exactly how accurate that is though. I do hope when it does reopen, it somehow can achieve both being more financially reasonable on the park whilst also not overly diluting the experience. Not that it can get much worse given Valhalla has gone to the dogs in recent times sadly.

While the ride wristband is good value for money, pleasure beach really shot themself in the foot when they introduced it the year after Valhalla opened. The ride would have near enough paid for itself had they had stuck to tokens a little longer given it cost the same to ride Valhalla as it did the big one although I could be mistaken on that last part.
-
Given the pleasure beach financial figures coupled with how expensive Valhalla is to run, I honestly would not have blamed them if they just cut their losses and did away with it altogether. It would be a shame to lose it but buisness wise it would make sense. Lower ridership for it goes against it too considering it only ever gets major queues on baking hot days which is hardly ever taken into account this is Blackpool we are dealing with.

H Hotel is probably your best bet. Its a bit of a walk from the park but usually is decently priced!!

Well to be fair... I was going to change up and go with a euro sign to commemorate today's historical events in parliament....however I figured that may have been controversial and just stuck to the old classic cliche of using the pound sign 😛

I assume by "remove" you mean "close it and just leave it to rot"?? 😛 Would be nice to see some form of work done on the rapids to freshen it up a bit but I can't see that being a priority for Thorpe at the moment. Especially if money is tight as we have been led to believe.

Not liking/hating a ride purely because it's "overhyped"/ "overrated" Never was able to wrap my head around this one. Usually when it comes to me not liking a ride, it's down to things that are the fault of the ride. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure its not a rides fault if people hype it up too much. Nemesis and Millennium force being the two main examples I can think of in terms of coasters that fall victim to this. It just comes across that those that do this usually are just basing their own opinions off of somebody else's judgement.

Bouncezilla permanent addition if we are lucky enough!!

I wouldn't say that out loud if I was you!!!
