I couldn't follow the story that well on Ghost Train to be honest. I might not have fully understood the story as there was a group on the same train as me who wouldn't stop shouting and making jokes so the actors kept laughing and not finishing their lines. I didn't really understand the story of DBGT either, so I guess the storytelling on Ghost Train was a bit better as I at least understood something that was going on. I could just be being too critical since I've had a couple of good runs throught the London dungeons in the past year and was expecting something very similar here.

I'm in the opinnion that it's not loads better than DBGT. Maybe I didn't have the best ride on it, but I just found the whole experience so predictable and not very scary as everything coming could be seen from a mile off. I do agree that it's fun, but I was expecting a new scary attraction, rather than a tame story experience. Maybe my hopes were just too high considering they had to keep the existing ride system.

Definitely seems so. I’ve totally forgotten the roadmap for when everything is installed. Is it supports after all those pins are in place and if so when are we likely to see them being put in?

It doesn’t feel like that much has really been done though. The ride system is the same, the pre show uses the same technology and the end scene is pretty much identical. The only thing that would be expensive is maybe the 1st station where they had to get rid of the mirrors and change that. Now I’ve been able to think more about my ride on it, to me it feels like a cheaper version of DBGT as there is no VR to make the ride feel more novel.

I do agree with that as well. When I was on it I couldn't really hear what was being said from one of the actors in the train, especially as there was a groups of teenagers right opposite me and my mate who wouldn't shut up for the enitre ride and only seemed to know how to shout. Louder speaker would have definitly helped.

I think headphones would just make the ride feel more restrictive. They are trying to go for a realistic feeling train (I think) and having to put on headphones to hear the announcements that would come through speakers in a train would just kinda break the illusion in my opinion. Also like you said they would open up lots more technical difficulties and slow down operations due to people having problems with finding and putting on headphones.

Me and my mate have been bored today and have been speedrunning black mirror. Our best time is 3:40, with the timer starting as soon as the door into the first video starts and ending when you leave the last door after the glass shatters. We challenge anyone to beat out time lol (no running allowed)!

Just finished off on Ghost Train. I'm going to be honest, it was slightly underwhelming. I spent the whole ride waiting for something big to happen, and nothing did, it just kinda felt a bit strung out towards the end. If it was a scene in the London Dungeons and other similar attractions, I’d say it would fit very well but as a ride by itself I believe it doesn’t offer enough. If someone wants to spoiler tag this feel free, I’m not sure how much info counts as a spoiler.

I’m in a pre queue of at least 40 mins probably now. The park isn’t busy at all apart from ghost train. Hoping it’s worth it!

I have applied with Nimbus Disability but they haven’t got back to me yet. Is there anything I can do on park tomorrow morning before I go in to try get RAP or do I have to wait for Nimbus Disability to get back to me first? If not am I allowed to bring something like a chair or stool to sit down on in the queues or is that not allowed?

Hi everyone, I’m going to thorpe on Tuesday and since my last visit to the park I’ve been in hospital and am now on medication for the rest of life. My doctor says that standing in a queue for a prolonged period of time wouldn’t be good for me as it would cause me extreme fatigue and other side effects. How do I apply for a ride access pass so I can queue virtually somewhere else where I can sit down? Do I need to apply for RAP every time I go to the park or is there some way I can get something that allows me to have it every time I visit? Thanks for the help in advance!

There’s no way I'm going to avoid seeing spoilers until Tuesday… I really want to do the attraction without anything being spoiled as I did DBGT after having watched like 3 youtube vids about it and it ruined the experience.

I think that maybe they could go down the route of you 'dying' somewhere in the ride and then being 'rebirthed' later on. Then the shop scene could maybe be some kind of thing when there's a total denial that anything ever happend on the train with you 'dying' and stuff. You're about to walk out then a ghost appeares acting as a jumpscare and also mentioning something about what happend when you were 'dead' and adding extra detail maybe. leaving the ride on a cliffhanger. I hope some of that makes some sense...

Hopefully the park offer spinning seats if it's possible on exodus, I think it would be a unique experience. I do like that thorpe have gone with a unique layout for a hyper coaster in general not just a mack hyper (albeit a bit short). It brings a unique, almost world class element to the park that I think they have been missing for a while. I would have liked to see a new flat ride in the area that exodus is being built in but then we can't have everything can we; a new coaster is still more than I expected!

Have we seen spinning seats on other Mack hypers with similar layouts?

Yh that is a bit odd. Why would they remove them if they were already installed. Sounds like a classic thorpe move to me lol!

Since they are removing all the pc’s that did the vr under the seats I assume they would have the space to put leg ticklers or something similar in the seats. I have no idea how any of this stuff works tho, so they could take up too much space. Hopefully there is something done to the train to make the experience immersive now the vr is gone. I’ve got high hopes for this ride now and I don’t want them to be ruined.

Seat Vibrations, is that new or did that happen on DBGT. I don't seem to remember it happening but I don't know what thorpe class as seat vibrations. By the looks of it though we might be getting a scare maze section with the strobe lighting or something when an actor moves closer in the dark and appears when the lights flash on.

Nice, good to see that when the park get their stuff together they can be quite efficient. Hopefully next season we actually get track that fits, I don't want this mess all over again.

Cool, good to know that the ride has been in safe hands! I do hope that there is a big overhaul to the experience, the park needs a stand out dark ride. If this is a success and when exodus get built, thorpe's lineup could be looking quite exciting.

Awesome! I do hope thorpe have pulled something out of the hat here. I’ve got a trip booked a couple days after it opens cause I have an exam on the 26th :,( The only issue I have with it still is it seems very run by Jack Silkstone, with him having a major role in the project. There’s nothing wrong with him, I think he’s brilliant, it’s just in the end it comes down to him being an enthusiast rather than someone who has worked in this industry for years. But then we were also told MMM has been involved (I think so at least) so that’s always a good sign as we saw what they did with curse.

New promo art for Ghost Train, looks like they are going for a more run down theme. What do we think about the 1.3m minimum height instead of 1.4? I don’t think it means less scary as they are still recommending 13+ but does it imply changes to the intensity? (I know it’s a dark ride so it’s not like intense in terms of forces but I hope u get what I mean)

Yh it’s a bit odd they replaced like 3 bits of track. Hopefully this season was just a test to see if the retrack would work and next season they will do a bigger section. I’m hoping the do the cobra roll next cause that’s probably the most unbearable part of the ride in my opinion.

Is tomorrow a closed day too, cause if so they could probably get the coaster up within a week if everything goes to plan! Looks like I will be able to go on Colossus when I go on the 30th! LETS GO!! I know the coaster get a lot of hate because of the god awful trains (which is justified) but it's not a bad ride by any means.
