  1. Hopefully the park offer spinning seats if it's possible on exodus, I think it would be a unique experience. I do like that thorpe have gone with a unique layout for a hyper coaster in general not just a mack hyper (albeit a bit short). It brings a unique, almost world class element to the park that I think they have been missing for a while. I would have liked to see a new flat ride in the area that exodus is being built in but then we can't have everything can we; a new coaster is still more than I expected!
  2. Have we seen spinning seats on other Mack hypers with similar layouts?
  3. Yh that is a bit odd. Why would they remove them if they were already installed. Sounds like a classic thorpe move to me lol!
  4. Since they are removing all the pc’s that did the vr under the seats I assume they would have the space to put leg ticklers or something similar in the seats. I have no idea how any of this stuff works tho, so they could take up too much space. Hopefully there is something done to the train to make the experience immersive now the vr is gone. I’ve got high hopes for this ride now and I don’t want them to be ruined.
  5. Seat Vibrations, is that new or did that happen on DBGT. I don't seem to remember it happening but I don't know what thorpe class as seat vibrations. By the looks of it though we might be getting a scare maze section with the strobe lighting or something when an actor moves closer in the dark and appears when the lights flash on.
  6. Nice, good to see that when the park get their stuff together they can be quite efficient. Hopefully next season we actually get track that fits, I don't want this mess all over again.
  7. Cool, good to know that the ride has been in safe hands! I do hope that there is a big overhaul to the experience, the park needs a stand out dark ride. If this is a success and when exodus get built, thorpe's lineup could be looking quite exciting.
  8. Awesome! I do hope thorpe have pulled something out of the hat here. I’ve got a trip booked a couple days after it opens cause I have an exam on the 26th :,( The only issue I have with it still is it seems very run by Jack Silkstone, with him having a major role in the project. There’s nothing wrong with him, I think he’s brilliant, it’s just in the end it comes down to him being an enthusiast rather than someone who has worked in this industry for years. But then we were also told MMM has been involved (I think so at least) so that’s always a good sign as we saw what they did with curse.
  9. New promo art for Ghost Train, looks like they are going for a more run down theme. What do we think about the 1.3m minimum height instead of 1.4? I don’t think it means less scary as they are still recommending 13+ but does it imply changes to the intensity? (I know it’s a dark ride so it’s not like intense in terms of forces but I hope u get what I mean)
  10. Yh it’s a bit odd they replaced like 3 bits of track. Hopefully this season was just a test to see if the retrack would work and next season they will do a bigger section. I’m hoping the do the cobra roll next cause that’s probably the most unbearable part of the ride in my opinion.
  11. Is tomorrow a closed day too, cause if so they could probably get the coaster up within a week if everything goes to plan! Looks like I will be able to go on Colossus when I go on the 30th! LETS GO!! I know the coaster get a lot of hate because of the god awful trains (which is justified) but it's not a bad ride by any means.
  12. Thank **** for that. Now let’s hope it fits this time lmao
  13. I have noticed that recently, it's not a great first impresseion of the park, but then I guess it prepares you for the lack of maintainance inside (however that has slightly imporved this season in my opinnion). Like you said, I think just covering it up would be better; nothing of value is showed on the screen. Replacing it would use some of the budget that could be used somewhere else (*cough* removal of Angry birds land and slammer) and keeping the screen just makes the park seem cheap and run down.
  14. I would love a taller drop tower at Thorpe definitely. Detonators great, being pushed down at the top is amazing (I’m not sure if they turned the pistons off though I can’t remember if I read that somewhere), but extra height would add to the experience massively. I think the issue with thorpe and other merlin parks in general is when it comes new flat rides is there is no USP so merlin see no reason in buying them. It is really a shame that merlin think in this way because some new off the shelf flat rides would benefit thorpe (after exodus of course) more than a 7th major coaster.
  15. I think they also may need a replacement scheme for all the lost city flats, they were all built within a span of abt 3 years and are all starting to age. I think I heard somewhere that some of the rides got now motors etc but the flats just seem to have become rundown. I would love some new flats at thorpe but I just don’t think they have the budget for that.
  16. I know but that would have been the logical solution and we all know thorpe don’t think logically lol. This was the worry I had with Taziker doing the retrack. I’m sure they are a trustworthy company, but there will always be mistakes trying to copy something made by someone else, while the original manufacturer will know exactly the dimensions etc, so they won’t make mistakes.
  17. Cool, so we are now actually seeing stuff starting to be built rather than destruction and preparing the ground. Cannot wait for the vertical construction to start, this is the first major investment I am able to witness at thorpe and I'm so excited!!!
  18. Nice! Is it the ground pins next to go in or do they need to do more ground work next?
  19. Awesome, does this suggest lake infilling is nearly done already? I thought the infilling only just began, is it a short process or am I just getting everything mixed up? Wish I could be on the pass-holder group, keep getting declined lol, I asked thorpe park support and they said they can do nothing about it apart from confirm my pass is valid lmao.
  20. Lmao yes definitly, there's no hope of it being open anytime soon by the looks of it. This was why I was skeptical with Taziker doing the retrack...
  21. Damn that's a shame, hopefully it's done soon. I'm going down a couple of days after ghost train opens, hope it's back up and running by then!
  22. Same tbh, Colossus is genuinely fun if you can get your head around it being rough. I just wish they would be upfront about when it’s actually going to open I’m fed up of this it’ll be open ‘soon’ business
  23. I quite like the look of that to be honest. Not sure if it will be in line with the theme but the sign does look clean.
  24. That is so true, instead of re theming to TWD they could have made it an egyptian theme and repainted the pyramid. That would have worked well if they were thinking in the future too, planning exodus to be egyptian themed.
  25. I still think a mountain theme is on the table to be honest. The original concept art that appeared was mostly yellow, which could suggest the gold I guess and it looked very much themed around mountain. I just don’t really think an egyptian theme will do it unless the ride is heavily themed, which for a coaster this tall is almost impossible.
