  1. Seems weird for an operator to need to see the queueline though? Must be like one of the only rollercoaster which can see its queue.
  2. Or once again, talk to someone who knows what they are talking about. The local buses do fine, its way cheaper than a taxi, some are even coaches going from theatre street (basically down the road from riverside, and just ouside central station). Plus it gives you more options on the way home. Considering I used the buses fulltime for most of the year, I have to say they're not unreliable.Walking could be done and takes 30mins, but you really need to know where you're going. And it makes no difference which station considering you can walk between them both within 3mins.

    Legoland

Or lets have an accurate future of legoland, eh?Rumours were it was Jungle Coasters last operating season, making way for the hotel in 2012, however it may be kept for an additional season. Hopefully it'll have gone, and good riddance. As for carparking, no way. They have not even hinted towards this, let alone any amazing rumours come out. Dunno how this person has heard about this.New for 2010 is Pirates Landing. Pirate Falls is having a refurbishment, with some interactive parts in the viewing area and the viewing area itself becoming more mutiny bay style. Rat Trap is being refurbished and the old disused area is being transformed into a lovely play area with "sunken" wooden pirate ships to play in. The pirate ship is appearing on the old picnic area, an exact replica of Chessingtons. The queueline is going where truck stop was. Finally, another thrill seeking ride! Poor old spinning spider is now apparently in the Land of the Vikings area.. however not rethemed. So the only ride to remind us of old Wild Woods it seems! The MTDP was released halfway through the year, with something like 8 new attractions in the next few years. Includes a sealife in the creation centre, extention to skyrider, a launched rollercoaster (believe it or not) from the miniland lawn towards hill train, a couple of family rides mainly around the pirates landing/knights kingdom area.
  4. How thoughtful of you. Kinda weird considering you dont exactly need to log in to view the forum?

    Legoland

Barely any have music there - I think Dragon is one of the only exceptions. Otherwise I seem to recall no music like anywhere.

Unfortunately for Georgie, I shown her that posts in random topic do get deleted, regardless of how random or not they are
  8. I'm just gonna say my throughput fact again, because it should shut everyone up (although it wont).Mack Seastorm advertises its throughput at 1,200pph. Would it ever honestly get anywhere near that? (http://www.mack-rides.com/lang-de/c140/default.html).EDIT: OMG IT SAYS 1,500pph LOL
  9. Mack Seastorm ride advertises throughput at 1,200pph. It just will never ever happen.

    Rush

For some rides.. a good few hours of nothing does a load of good. If engineers left griffins or vampire overnight or for a few hours (went for lunch), it would sometimes start working like a dream after they come back!
  11. Good people leave, new good people arrive. Always the case!
  12. Hello bubbly, and welcome to this wonderful forum

Yeah, another thing was trying to find the actual assessment building.. I know they gave you a photograph thingy, but still.. wasn't comfortable lol(and the fact they sent it to me 2 days before the assessment.. no wai)

I'm surprised. Southern went through a complete blanket ban of employment recently.I got offered an assessment and I didn't turn up, I got 4 booklets of information for something I thought would've been relatively simple. Scared me off. Hopefully it aint affected my likeliness of being given another assessment in future!
  15. Its slowed down in recent years, but its not going down the drain. I love the other UK parks trying their best with investment trying to match or beat merlin, its fantastic. As for recesssion? Recessions kill off mostly firms which were financially unstable in the boom periods. Will our parks suffer? With a favourable exchange rate (into the UK), and people preferring to take holidays at home because its becoming a cheaper comparison plus they'd rather a day or two instead of a week abroad? I think not.Gerr.
  16. You saying I do it just because its alton not thorpe?I hate fastrack. I hate hate hate hate hate it, the more expensive and off-putting the sodding better. Don't give a damn what park its in.

In otherwords, unemployable in merlin.. and picsolve phoned me today to say they had around 70 interviews for only 28 spaces. Made me feel better
  18. Alton does it almost perfectly though, even if I do not agree with them bringing in unlimited. They barely ever have the system running, if it is.. its for the high throughput rides, and barely anyone seems to use it. Expensiveness? Bloody do it.Don't moan, or else I can lump you in with the other fastracking morons.

No, nor do I particularly want to.But I was in the same situation last year, when I really did want to. So I know how it feels!

The business doesn't care about training costs, it costs them nothing basically, considering they pay near minimum wage. It ain't considered when inviting people back, trust me!Ahh wells, time to move on perhaps? Noone needs them
  21. I have a dog.. called Audrey. After Audrey Hepburn, James' mum.She doesn't like cold paws:
  22. Get an assessment, go there via public transport, and then consider whether you want to do it daily. It cost me way more than sheepie to get there (well, £14 a day to be precise). It was definitely worth it, a full days work is like £30! After food and stuff I got around £10. I wasn't there for the money.
  23. Yeah well done guys and good luck, I hope you have fun. I did, for a bit.
