For some rides.. a good few hours of nothing does a load of good. If engineers left griffins or vampire overnight or for a few hours (went for lunch), it would sometimes start working like a dream after they come back!

Good people leave, new good people arrive. Always the case!

Yeah, another thing was trying to find the actual assessment building.. I know they gave you a photograph thingy, but still.. wasn't comfortable lol(and the fact they sent it to me 2 days before the assessment.. no wai)

I'm surprised. Southern went through a complete blanket ban of employment recently.I got offered an assessment and I didn't turn up, I got 4 booklets of information for something I thought would've been relatively simple. Scared me off. Hopefully it aint affected my likeliness of being given another assessment in future!
  6. Its slowed down in recent years, but its not going down the drain. I love the other UK parks trying their best with investment trying to match or beat merlin, its fantastic. As for recesssion? Recessions kill off mostly firms which were financially unstable in the boom periods. Will our parks suffer? With a favourable exchange rate (into the UK), and people preferring to take holidays at home because its becoming a cheaper comparison plus they'd rather a day or two instead of a week abroad? I think not.Gerr.

You saying I do it just because its alton not thorpe?I hate fastrack. I hate hate hate hate hate it, the more expensive and off-putting the sodding better. Don't give a damn what park its in.

In otherwords, unemployable in merlin.. and picsolve phoned me today to say they had around 70 interviews for only 28 spaces. Made me feel better

Alton does it almost perfectly though, even if I do not agree with them bringing in unlimited. They barely ever have the system running, if it is.. its for the high throughput rides, and barely anyone seems to use it. Expensiveness? Bloody do it.Don't moan, or else I can lump you in with the other fastracking morons.

No, nor do I particularly want to.But I was in the same situation last year, when I really did want to. So I know how it feels!

The business doesn't care about training costs, it costs them nothing basically, considering they pay near minimum wage. It ain't considered when inviting people back, trust me!Ahh wells, time to move on perhaps? Noone needs them
  12. I have a dog.. called Audrey. After Audrey Hepburn, James' mum.She doesn't like cold paws:
  13. Get an assessment, go there via public transport, and then consider whether you want to do it daily. It cost me way more than sheepie to get there (well, £14 a day to be precise). It was definitely worth it, a full days work is like £30! After food and stuff I got around £10. I wasn't there for the money.
  14. Yeah well done guys and good luck, I hope you have fun. I did, for a bit.
  15. I use duel soundtrack as my alarm tone

What do I do if I'm not at a theme park? Hmm.. work, or sleep.. or plan on visiting theme parks. Socialness is seasonal for myself.Oh, I am an avid fan of trains as well lol, not that I go out much to look at them
  17. I'll be driving through junction 14ish when the park closes next week, I'll shout out the window and hope you can hear me

Its fantastic is what it is. The best thing is the sound system has the entire 8min track in there! Hence me using purely the 8min track on repeat with no announcements. Lovely!

That completely explains why the train used to stop on just entering the trims, and was changed to stopping almost in the station in 07! Two different sets of breaks. Noice.I wouldn't say aspergers is a reason for a disability pass, I've never used it for my brother, however there are plenty of guests who do it.Another major difference between Chessington and Alton, is alton has an extremely strict 2 carers per disability person (so a single rider takes up that additional seat), whereas if more than 4 people turn up at Chessington you have to let them on (or otherwise, they'll go away and will end up getting an exit pass or a manager to allow them up - however it didn't stop me refusing). Different attitudes, and extremely major different effects!

Hmm, wheres my disciplinary letter?! None of my stuff ever mentioned the stuff I yelled at guests. As for disabilities, my brother can get the disabled pass because he's got mild aspergers, and some people in the disabled queue have less of a disability than that (and boast about it). Some say its the whole disability discrimination act gone mad, some say Chessington is stupidly weak and feeble with their disabled policy. Answers? Find a huge disabled queue at alton. Go on.
