  2. Still not entirely convinced by that arguement (hence, why has the zoo only days over the winter been reduced from everyday to weekends only now?). I'd like to have seen the jump in attendance if fury opened last year. Different economies, different world I suppose.

Oh so thats how they get the creme eggs into the mcflurrys..
  4. And as for counting their pennies, they'd be counting a hell of a lot. 07 season made £14m profit for them, and 08 is predicted to be in its 30s.Chessington and merlin are fine, just hoping that Blackstone hasn't been affected too much by the credit crunch. Remember its an investment company, which are having to write down their assets pretty much every month, and have posted losses recently due to this!
  5. Oh Ian went? Might've missed out on a decent trip then. Still, towers ftw.
  6. Fred replied to Phyciodes's topic in UK Attractions
Is it? As far as I'm aware its only been last year. Bubbleworks was deffo open at beginning of year of 06 and 07, otherwise I must've dreamt working on them.
  7. Marketing were trying to do a deal with nickelodeon for 2010 last year, but I'd like to hope that they didn't succeed.

As I constantly say, chessington changed their marketing view and the idea of the park last year or end of 07 to a more universal catering theme park. Not that it has been shown much, apart from the dumping of all the childrens advertising such as "under 12s go free", "98% of rides suitable for children under 12" and crap.
  9. Shall not be attending, working followed by going to towers!
  10. Fred replied to Phyciodes's topic in UK Attractions
Alternatively, they could give something to look at up there, like.. to do with the ride you're on, rather than looking into toytown or a metal roof.
  11. Has James ever seen the footprint of Chessington? It is massive! (Can see the proper boarder on the applications for that arena thing). As for fill.. legolands rapids is on a major hill, I think they managed to build it successfully

The ride goes around once, stops, swings.. goes forwards and backwards.. over, water thing.. stopped.. is the setting at the park. That video is near exact to that.. I cant see any major differences, and I hope I bloody know the cycle after watching it daily a year ago.
  13. Fred replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
Thats pretty much exactly how the usual setting is run now?
  14. Makes it easier for the guests to locate, I'm sure staff know where an attraction is without needing to know area names.
  15. X

Fred replied to Garyy's topic in The Past
Not really needed on X when the speakers on the block breaks do exactly the same function.. but actually work all the time
  16. Have you seen Over the Hill?
  17. Fred replied to Mark9's topic in The Forums
How about you post me it in a PM, and I'll delete it without reading.. whilst laughing?
  18. Don't you have a family to like erm.. talk to or something? I'm sure adz does.
  19. Isn't the queueline like rush/stealth style.. but with Colossus type of fencing (ie, crap?)
  20. Fred replied to Theme Park bloke's topic in The Real World
If you lose a child in whatever circumstances and they dont ever come back, dont you just think that in the back of your mind you'd believe/hope your child is still alive and well? However, its annoying to see these adverts etc, because none of us can help and if there are ones who can, have chosen not to.. so its just a waste of moneys.
  21. Fred replied to AltonThorpe's topic in UK Attractions
After emailing Alton Towers, I have received a response in which they tell me that however amusing, the team members name is not called Renny Krupinski and does not feature in the Oblivion Queueline Videos. They also told me that whoever told me is a berk.
  22. Fred replied to AltonThorpe's topic in UK Attractions
Does he? He's a slightly famous actor, got his own wikipedia page and website and has starred in a few well known telly programmes. Cant remember his name though.. Beth'll know!

Adding to that its absolutely pathetic to get aggressive over a bag of crisps ****sake. Eating out of date crisps will never kill you, they just go soggy.
  24. Fred replied to Theme Park bloke's topic in The Real World
Well you were a **** to an innocent member of staff. I hate twattish people who act like that to me, and let me calm you down with the knowledge that noone gives a **** about your complaint, especially when you're a knob to them!
