  1. That's good! Definitely learnt from the days of old, when they hired it for an evening and had something ridiculous like 15k turn up.
  2. Majority of stores operate think 25 now, so even if they think you are over 18, but look under 25, you'll be asked for ID. It's all lumped under one category, as I've been ID'd for bonjela or something which requires you to be 16, and although the girl said I look about 20, because of think 25 she has to use that. But anyway, almost everyone carries ID, and people MUST be used to being asked for ID by now.. so I don't see any sort of problem with it.
  3. Considering they're building a hotel extention slap bang in the middle of a big portion of the zoo.. it does give enough reason for it not to be open. That's the only thing I can excuse Chessie for out of those though. This year has been rock bottom for them.
  4. See, I'm gonna be an odd one out here, but say that I can barely stand riding Vortex - it feels too much like a pirate ship to me, if not worse (the G force it pulls as it's swinging is horrible, particularly on an overcast day). Always come off that ride with a headache feeling sick, much like if I rode a pirate ship any longer than a couple of minutes.
  5. Needs storm surge, I suggest where the entrance is, down alongside the main queue of Rita. Just so people know it's there and want to join the queue to ride it.
  6. Work dependent, I'd love to go. I'll only know closer to the time, need to ensure I'm still employed first!
  7. A hundred new jobs.. from an indoor play area? Not entirely sure how that equates.
  8. Is it just me, or does Blair Witch board say "Some areas include uneven floors and therefore running is permitted".?

5min queues when the ride can only get about 300pph? That's not popular.
  10. You'd save an entire one member of staff. Probably considered unsafe nowadays.
  11. I remember the days of capers never closing. The area has permenant floodlights.
  12. JoshC does. But, by christ, those photoshop skills are impressive.
  13. Wouldn't fit in subs space. Why can't you just scrap the ride rather than give it to another park? We're not in the tussauds era anymore!
  14. The park won't be open 2-3hrs after that at all. Vampire will close with a half hour queue somedays, the park will be empty by 8pm. Bring back the days when you could actually ride rides in the dark, the point of visiting during october half term. All those poor children are missing out on incredible memories (everyone remembers the parks when they're dark!).

    The Smiler

    Back row on smiler? Eurgh.
  16. I'm not going to compare it to Universal, however I'll say that that compares to the "worst" theming we find in the UK independent parks. First impressions do obviously count.

    Scarefest

Read the terms of the vouchers, if it doesn't state you cannot use it (or the voucher is in date) then you can use it. Mazes can be bought on the day at any Sales & Information point.
  18. True, I was comparing the young ones rides though - not rides which require you to be 1m or 1.2m. On that scale actually, legolands Jolly Rocker is god awful, and we all know how utter crap Jungle Coaster was..

I think noone thinks it'll reopen - gone from the map, signage gone, restraints gone. Slightly different pretending it doesn't exist rather than having a sign saying it'll come back whenever!
  20. £9, 3rd edition, presume you can get discount on top of that?! Balls!
  21. Whats with these enthusiasts not liking those queueline tvs which actually relate to a story and give you something to look at for ages? You bastards. You're ruining it for the rest of us. Go to america and suffer all their queueline talking tvs in every queue (ala Universal). Then moan about swarmy.
  22. I'm impressed that this hasn't really gained any sort of attention. Rides, regardless of what rides, are closing earlier and earlier every year. Brilliant.
  23. Oh... so ride close is essentially 2hrs earlier than a couple of years ago. Plus a few rides closing at 5pm, including ones which didn't used to beforehand. So, mazes after 8pm or nothing on a quiet day then? Yay. Ecstatic.
  24. Waaaaaaaaaait. Is this a typo, or are rides closing an hour earlier than originally (I swear it was 9pm ride close, 10pm if busy?)
  25. Yay! I'll be there! Not at the meet, but still. In spirit.
