Fright Nights
It won't be guineau pigs - they do loads and loads of test runs anyway, and actors being actors automatically know best places for scares and will want to show off anyway. They have staff nights, they've had JLP events before as well

Oblivion
Well they have no stickers now, so they're back to orange. Mmm...

Alton Towers Trip Reports
Air reopened at the end of the day (right at the end), and the last guests were at 8.15pm. Lovely.Good trip report though, towers is a lovely place. However, completely disagree with charlie. People would not be smiling if the lifts weren't so incredibly awesome!

Rant
Well, I'm ever so sorry, but I'm one who says HAITCH.It sounds ridiculous that it's AITCH, course it's haitch. Yes I do say AD haitch D, or haitch tv. As, amazingly, thats how I pronounce the letter.I hate people ranting about utter crap, as to be honest, majority of people I know say haitch. [Oh, and I adore facebook, you'll never realise its benefits until you use it]

Alton Towers General Discussion
Which at the time, thirteen was already ahead, and it made no difference whatsoever to the overall percentage points .It had the potential to cause mayhem to these polls, but infact very very few people voted for it. Erk.

Alton Towers Trip Reports
Interesting how you (kind of) rate the boat ride of charlie, but dismiss the tit-juggler (lifts).I'm completely the opposite there, especially as so much stuff just doesn't work, and the fact it's always become progressively worse than better.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
See, I kinda agree with SAW. I love the internal queue and internal ride area bit and the effects and stuff. I just don't like the ride.

Throughput Bidding
I don't think it was that acceptable, I remember having a grilling for the days throughputs of playhouse being "30, 31, 32, 33, 32, 31, 30".Pure coincidence though, obviously!

Chessington Trip Reports
Mmm yes, I have to say that out of the old branding left at chessington - this is one of the most prominant, and most important to change (before was Chessington shop - glad that got sorted out). When will it get a towers monorail style rebrand? Now that'd be good! And only involve a simple vinyl wrap. Mmm cheap!Good report markus!

Throughput Bidding
Vampire with 1114 or something like that. Definitely in the 1100s.I got 600 on playhouse once. But that was down to magic pen. Does that count?

Chessington General Discussion
Actually, lets point this out, the accompanied rule (or people on outside) is not a recommendation of the manufacturer, it's not in the blade CoSWP. It's not legally binding. It's chessington playing it safe incase something happens. The huss website has shown that recommended restrictions for their pirate ships are 1m. It's shown this for years, I noticed it in 07 and mentioned it on southparks. There is a reason why it wasn't brought in til last year .As for most of the "H&S", it's down to individual parks interpretation as to how they want to play it. Legoland prides itself on being way OTT on it's H&S, so that injury is the lowest of the low. Chessington shares the same H&S manager, and since then they've had more and more stringent (or stupid) rules, which have not benefitted the park or the guests. Coincidence? Actually, no it's not.We could throw ripsaw and rameses in here - why's it slower? It's not H&S.. it's less wear and tear, less maintenance. I can't help but imagine that fury has the same implications, and this vampire thing is obviously to do with maintenance budgets, as chains snapping is not against H&S, nor affects the health and safety of any guest or individual. The fact of life is it happens to most parks each year.Long ranty post. Done.

Chessington General Discussion
Ahh yes, and a chain snapping does what? Oh it causes an evac and a chain replacement. Oh my god.If only all parks run like this, by christ
-
The Smiler
Well that's the thing. I know of many things which a simple replacement would recover it's costs through lower maintenance and running costs, but they don't happen. One of which is Pirate Falls at lego which uses 40k of water a month due to a leak...

The Smiler
I don't say I like it's current re-incarnation. What I'm saying is that (apart from one of the 5 articles) suggests that it's a retheme, not a replacement ride, and definitely not SW7.I'd presume the retheme would involve a part refurb anyway, as all the boats would naturally be replaced, and I'd presume it'd cost not much more to replace the parts which need doing.
