  1. Young workers (under 18) work a MAXIMUM 8hrs a day, or else the company is breaching Time working regulations.Chessie is now strict about this, just as they should be. It's good for the under 18s, its good for everyone..(this excludes your lunch break - hence chessie does 9am-6pm)
  2. Pretty much every corrie break there's a towers ad. Don't worry, they're there
  3. I have to say, it sounds very much like a "visited towers too often, first time to thorpe" experience there.Majority of the time, the entrance of thorpe takes ages to get into. And it's not like towers.. it's cattlepens. Temporary cattlepens. Temporary which have been there for YEARS. Mmm, lovely entrance .I dunno, visit thorpe enough times and you'd find it boring as well. Everyone I go to thorpe with who live up north love the place, but its the opposite way around if you're down south.I do agree with one point though, towers rides (well, the flats) ARE boring. Thorpe is superior on that front, but thats about it. Food, all you have from thorpe (which is a merlin place) is the mexican, noodles and glasshouse.. all of which is an offering at towers.
  4. What wait... so, in wet weather.. they increase the weight in their cars?Wow. I want it to rain EVERY day now.
  5. I hate stupid bloody school kids.So glad they're all finishing now for the holidays. I couldn't possibly stand another day of putting up with their moronic attitudes and questions.
  6. Thats a generic email which they send if you're declined. If you ask for a specific reason, or hints and tips.. they'll give one.
  7. Seems weird that they've just gone back to 4 per car.. so whatever the reason they had originally has been solved then?Seems weird that other rides of similar nature are still on maximum 3... But hey ho, I can't complain.. full capacity is only a good thing.
  8. Don't be angry - be upset. There'll be a reason why they didn't hire you, and usually good reasons. You can always ask them for feedback, and they'll give it to you.
  9. I'm thinking its them being overzealous though. Why is it only 2 people per car, when other spinners (mauhrer or not) generally go down to maximum 3?
  10. Three things to add/respond to on that thread.Buccaneer restrictions - I've been told, through our wonderful team leader friend, that they've changed their restrictions.. to what huss ACTUALLY tell them to do, not what chessie does. Which is people over 1.3m on the edges, regardless of age. Finally, they should have proper loading on that ride again and back to being able to bother riding it!Disco lights - I remember these being put in 2006, and everyone moaned about them then, as well as the staff, and then it was changed to all green. I honestly dont understand why they cant keep it the same bloody colour, instead of going around in circles. This park ALWAYS goes around in circles. So many times have I seen stupid things implemented, removed due to being ridiculous, then re-implemented by some numpty a few seasons later.Batching lanes - makes sense, but.. lamenated signs, I hate. It's weird that the park allows them to get away with them. Signage at lego and alton have to be confirmed first, and have to be relatively proper. The lack of this process allows for awfulness of that. Although I'd say they need them, they need to actually spend a *bit* of money on it. It's not hard! Get some thirteen style ones hanging from the ceiling.
  11. Shame the best one from oblivion is hidden there - "RITA is a GIRLS name"
  12. It's a general thing that happens. Places pay for IPs.. they use it to bring people to the park/event... the films/IP in question dont use the place to market their own brand. The IPs are far bigger than the places which use it, and therefore pay for it.
  13. The SAW IP has cost over a million to use.
  14. Fred

    Random

Ohhh. I heard this on the radio yesterday whilst going to work, and heard that it was from Maidenhead.Bleurgh life.
  15. The name would have to change, and I'd imagine they'll retheme it then. They wouldn't want to renew it, as the SAW franchise is dead, and therefore it'll become old pretty quickly. Much like.. much like if shrek came to towers really.
  16. Woah man, how slow do your parents drive?! It took me 25mins from Derby everyday.. then again I went with no traffic .A late hello to you
  17. Absolutely love oblivions one - "Rita is a GIRLS name"
  18. Thorpe has a different type of ship, it's not Huss.Towers, nah. It's exactly the same as it's always been, apart from the height changes.Lego.. lego being lego makes it way more restrictive than it needs to be. My only thought is that it the same rules were implemented onto Buccaneer, due to sharing the same rides H&S manager as lego.
  19. 1) Depends. Phone the hotels switchboard and try and book a table, and see what they say. The number is 01538 704600.2) It's worth it, for secret garden tbh. You do get AP discount3) You get 20% off waterpark, and I think same for golf.4) As benin rightly said.. Londis. There's a couple of nice pubs there as well, namely the white hart (which is up the small road with a sign pointing to alton castle).
  20. So, to coincide with the marketing thingy at towers for the top 5 rides, write here what you score them out of 5 - and if you want to put a reason, state why! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Mp6jl5i7A My vote is for nemesis, with 5/5.Air - 2/5Oblivion 4/5Thirteen - 3/5Rita 3/5What is yours?
  21. They've put up banners at the entrances of each ride saying voting - and staff members have badges showing which ride they voted for.Proper rivalry, and will work a treat!
  22. Oh, so an ordinary queue of people down a ramp is better than up to 200 people squished into a huge area with no logical loading?Sense much.
  23. I'm agreeing that it's quieter, which overall they expected (slightly below 2010 is the official expectation), it's just nowhere near as dramatic as TTF people want to believe.
  24. The only time when it's been different was over easter - due to the lack of overlap with school holidays there, which messed things up a bit. That's knocking around in solid written proof.Other than that, it's no different really. Only difference is they increased the staffing budgets from "smalls" that they had last year to no less than "mediums" since easter.
  25. This is where Chessington is stupid. It's not hard to make sure that fire escape isn't accidently opened. They have cable tie things which break when forced properly open.. you could just highlight that its a fire exit properly. It's not illegal anyway. Nothing there (apart from lack of earplugs) is illegal.Batching works, batching works on every coaster. It just needs people who aren't dumb to be able to batch properly, and to be told how to do it exactly. I honestly don't have a clue how chessington can't grasp this basic concept on here. Then again, they don't give a fig about throughputs
