  1. Rode that version today and concur with Flipper. It only did one full height swing and it took a while to get itself going. It's probably an age thing as the two rides were built around the same time.
  2. I hope you listened to her winners speech, that kind of bigoted comment is the kind of mindset she was targeting. It is an ugly coaster no doubt.
  3. That ship sailed at the end of 2003 when teacup twisters became storm in a teacup and all the effects were turned off on Tidal Wave.
  4. Pushing it a bit. It's people's choice to visit a theme park, it is not decreed in law that people have to visit and again you'd have to be an idiot to believe that fastrack is the only way to enjoy the park. I agree that it should be done after park closure but for the sake of balance it is one ride out of 25. As was said, the park was very quiet, it being a dead Thursday in the middle of May and publicity for the park (a show that goes out to 8 million people +) over-rules the 5000 people max on park that day. With all respect to the park it's not the greatest decision but let's not make out that it's daylight robbery.
  5. SO close to warning you both for blasphemy right now.
  6. I can imagine the Aqua Trax being all style and no substance. Another one of those Intamin rides that looks good on paper but is actually rubbish. Like Tornado and Furius Baco.
  7. If they built their own Splash Mountain I would single-handedly get them out of their debt problem. A combination of Tower and Splash less then three hours away by Eurostar? It's a no brainer for Mark9
  8. Smiler I can understand, they were promoting the hell out of it for a good length before it opened and the hype is always larger for a roller coaster then for a land or a family ride. You wouldn't want your one trip of the year to be before the major new roller coaster was added, particularly if you are an adult or a teen. But I can't imagine families thinking in the same ways that older groups would.
  9. I can't believe that the majority of guests are putting off their visits for cbeebies land...
  10. I really like Vampire. It's just so family friendly. Sure it was better in bat cars but it's still a great ride in its current form.
  11. It's original I'll give it that...
  12. I'd say Rameses is more unreliable then Fury. Rameses half the time is just sitting there stationary whereas on Fury it's constantly monitoring up to seven cars, two lift hills, four block break sections and two trim breaks. There is just so much more to go wrong and on the whole, it's breakdowns are just block shutdowns.
  13. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BmqgjX7CYAAD9En.jpg:large Instant improvement.
  14. Either way, park visitors win. Whilst I am not Universals biggest fan, the amount of things they've added since my 2012 visit is quite something. If Potter expansion makes a huge dent in Disney's attendance then they will have to do something that isn't a Frozen meet and greet area. If Disney attendance remains stable then Universal will throw more and more in. Must be great being a park enthusiast in Florida right now, aside from the not quite that good B&M's
  15. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ON DISNEY'S NEW RIDE, HOW CAN YOU EVEN SAY THAT. Suffering from 'Merlin'itis are we Josh? Sometimes all we want is a fun ride, one that it is just enjoyable without being the best ever. If it looks fun then its done its job for its target audience of families and children. Job done in my opinion.
  16. Maybe Alvey wasn't offered enough freebies for him to fully enjoy his experience, hence why he might not look too pleased at the end of his ride..

    This Or That

Neither, boxers all the way Constantine or Kermit?
  18. Low throughput does that.. although I really liked the Parque Warner version seven years ago. Still, Thorpe can do better then something like that.

    The Banning Game

Banned for wanting to go to the meet.
  20. Bollocks (excuse my French but that is the only word I can find) is it. Fury is three adults because of incidents that occurred in the past. Fury is the only Maurer spinner with a permanent three adult rule. Spinball has specific rules in the rain but always runs four adults when its dry.
  21. She may be joking but that isn't how it reads on a forum.
  22. The History that fills the Pleasure Beach is so enriching. Riding Big Dipper or Grand National always fills me with so much nostalgia, thinking of the generations of people that have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) these rides. No other park has that affect on me.
  23. I can't see this reducing the air time much. Just a crazy thing though, there has never been a single incident on any B&M hyper for the seat belts to be warranted (That we know of).
  24. I've heard that Hershey Park and Cedar Point close if storms are within five miles of the park. It can be sunny and glorious over the park but if there is an inkling of a storm, all rides close, even the indoor ones. So in that respect, I think what we have works very well. Rides only close if they absolutely have to.
  25. Shame about Monster not being as extraordinary as Katun, Oz'Iris or Nemesis as on paper it should have everything. You haven't inspired me with this report to go and get my B&M credit, suffice to say I might leave Walygator for a while..
