They don't need your pity. The problems they have created are of their own making and people are within their rights to complain if the park isn't delivering because of its own errors. 2 hours and 40 minutes for Vampire? Get out of here there isn't a hells chance I would waste a third of my day waiting for an 'ok' family rollercoaster.

All I can think is if they are selling 50% of a rides throughput then they are over-selling the product massively. They could easily increase the price, reduce the amount sold and then please a lot more people. Why aim for 50% happy people when they can go for 100% of people?

I agree partially. It is the Summer Holidays so there will be queues. What is compounding the problem is with no Runaway Train or Rameses, the other rides with their lower capacities due to Chessington being incompetent/stupid/dumb mean whereas in 2008, they could cope, now they can't. So when they say, they only got on two rides I can see why. Especially if things like Monkey Swinger is getting 45 minute queues or Kobra at 2 hours (WHAT?!) then clearly there is massive issues going on at the park, something poor planning will make even worse. People shouldn't have to plan their days to military precision, some families do go just to chill out, something that is hard to do when you're queuing long for flipping diskos or trashed dark rides.

Count me amazed that people visit Chessington in the first place.

Thanks to Theme Park Review. So the new rollercoaster is a Gerstlauer family ride with forwards and backwards launch sections and will be called Firechaser Express. The park has also announced it is building the Dream More resort with hotel and other amenities.

Thats okay we trust you. Its standard Chessington, not that I am making excuses but ever since the emphasis has been on friendliness and customer service, the operational side of the rides really isn't good enough. With no signature ride that can get over 1000 an hour and two rides down for the rest of the season, it's not great. An hour for Truckers is standard fair, one of the problems for being a low throughput ride (200 people per hour) and being on the main pathway in the park.

You mean the Disney thats invested 2 billion Dollars in Fastpass+ at Disney World which will require vacation guests to plan their fastpass rides months in advance?

Have lunch? It is a trial Benin, I understand the downers and even expressed some of these thoughts to Marc but it iss just an experiment. If it fails, we can go back to overselling fastrack and queuing single file. If it works then Thorpe will need to work out what to do with people if they spread it among more rides and there is no queue guarantees for everything. I applaud the park for at least attempting to do something to help queues which is something a lot of parks seem totally ignorant of at times.

On the contrary, we don't have cookie cutter rides like the majority of the rides in America because Towers can't just throw a ride at a place, they have to carefully plan them out to the letter. That brings out far more imagination and creativity in the designers then just throwing a ride at a plot of land imo.

That's just what the layout reminds me of is all.

Based on German fan websites it will have five inversions, a starting loop like The Swarm, at least one inline twist, an immelman loop, a zero g roll and possible an inclined loop (again like The Swarm). http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dheide%2Bpark%2B2014%2Bcoaster%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Den%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1455%26bih%3D886&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&sl=de&u=http://www.az-online.de/lokales/niedersachsen/heide-park-stellt-neue-achterbahn-wingcoaster-3065201.html&usg=ALkJrhiy9el0OB55FjvY2tXMCJP-XKoakw Looks incredibly similar to X-Flight actually. The odd small difference but basically the same. Colour me only slightly disappointed that it wasn't a bit more daring.

There is no reason given by the moderator/admin who deleted your post, the same with the other posts that were deleted. I can't find your other deleted post either. I can only find one of your posts deleted in the moderator section. What else of yours do you think has been removed? (The Deleted post)

Old Chessington or the current Chessington?
Mark9 replied to BigBobJones's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
I can't really compare like for like because the new versions of rides such as Bubbleworks and Vampire are just bastardized versions of what went before. What I will say is when I was a four year old, Chessington was this magical, spell-binding place where you journeyed into Television sets, were transported to Ancient China and every 90 second a Vampire bat flew over the cobbles of Transylvania. It didn't matter that the majority of rides at the park were very standard, dull rides because the theming and effort that went into each ride was above and beyond anything we had seen in the UK. Now all I see is a load of rides that have been ruined, the original designers efforts destroyed because of a lack of care, a lack of love and a lack of interest by higher management. The way I see it, it doesn't matter if Chessington's current managers have these big ideas and ambitions as they will never be allowed to go above and beyond. It's all restricted by minuscule budgets. Sure they have a 5 million budget for Runaway Train + Falls + Park wide improvements. But that isn't enough to solve a terminal problem at the park.- 18 replies

Before Chessington screwed up Buccaneer, the throughput was around 900pph. But back then it had air gates so people could batch themselves whilst the ride was moving. They also were able to have children sitting at the end of rows. With that luxury gone, batching takes far longer then it ever needs to so I'd say its throughput is closer to 300 people per hour then the projected 900 that Huss says it can get. That throughput was based on Fury running 8 cars which it hasn't done since 2006. It's throughput now is far more like 450/550 (550 is very optimistic) an hour which for the parks second main roller coaster is dire. Still, could be worse and be Rattlesnakes 350pph an hour.

Alpine Express, Euro Mir, Euro-Sat, Poseidon, Pegasus, Silver Star, Wodan. Just some other rides that are so good they are worth going on at least ten times. If you can

Really because I thought Nemesis was at Alton Towers and Nemesis Inferno was at Thorpe Park. I'd understand if we were talking about Batman the Ride but not when its two different rollercoasters with two different names at two different theme parks. Then again I said we should agree to disagree and you just wanted to carry on with saying I'm wrong about Saw when its quite clear that it's a mixed opinion as shown by people who have posted on here. Then again, you seem to be conducting most of your points through GIF's and memes which was funny ten years ago, not so great anymore.

Its funny how busy low throughput attractions look ain't it.

Outstanding.

Really, because Matt Creek got there first and seems to agree with me. Maybe we should just agree that we disagree and just try and spell Nemesis Inferno correctly in future ey
