  1. D'aww, shame really but then it's okay because we're all different and all that. I don't think it's a Nemesis beater but it's a beater of 90% of the Uk rollercoasters. So thats a major plus for it.
  2. Oh Sidders, Inferno ERT is basically going to Thorpe Park and heading straight to Inferno. Just stay on it for an hour. Lush
  3. Thats okay, Marc wears Reading stuff. We're used to it.
  4. Theme Park's facebook pages are seriously annoying."Hannah Severns Would be if it wasn't so expensive"Predictable"Phoebe Love Womack I am but not excited bout the price. :/"Predictable"Matt Robinson Nemesis was the last good ride you built...And that was 15 years ago!"Dull"Manda Jane Halstead thought there was a Nemesis already"
  5. I'm a big believer in honesty from the parks. With this ride, we have to bare in mind that for Thorpe, this is new technology. There may have been a problem with the train which they did not know how to fix or that would have rendered the whole ride un-operational if they had attempted to keep it on the circuit. They did try and get the second train going round and that obviously failed. Whilst it's a pain, the operators don't actually have any obligation to tell you the problem with the train. Technical difficulties covers every aspect of problems with the rides.I agree they shouldn't have kept you in the dark in the way they did. A PA announcement every few minutes keeps you informed without telling you information Did they do that or was it complete silence from the moment the ride ceased operating?
  6. We should count ourselves lucky it isn't one of theseor one of theseOr this evilnesswait a second.

    Samurai

They are all funfair versions. Vortex for example, was the first park built KMG afterburner for example (They typically have 16 seater or 24 seater models). Samurai is just a typical top scan. Hence why it's stacking up the downtime at the moment.
  8. There's always one that comes along and ruins the birthday celebrations isn't there
  9. A big happy tenth birthday to Colossus.

    Samurai

That is what they've been doing since it moved to Thorpe from Chessington. It's been refurbished 3 times since its move I believe. It's got to be bared in mind that a funfair version is taken apart at the end of every stint. They aren't supposed to be active for 7 months of the year, constantly.
  11. Clearly taKen inspiration from Disney then.
  12. I share a birthday with Alan carr and Paul O'Grady. The 14th June is now gay birthday day.
  13. The advert that got me into theme parks. Wow.

    Samurai

Samuai just seems to have become a common name for Mondial Top-scans. Our one looked nothing like that, it looked like this:-Chessington's was also a brand new model, not second hand purchased.

    Slammer

Makes us even more fortunate that we have one and it's only bloody open!
  16. I think it will be quiet to be honest, it's prooven to be for every weekday so far. No fire as of yesterday
  17. Quite unlike any inverter so far. The speed it travels that first half of the circuit
  18. Great advert. No "from the makers of Colossus" rubbish, no overblown hype such as the worlds biggest helix or such nonsense. Just a few choice shots of the story, the ride and a deep imposing voice at the end. Up there with Inferno, Oblivion and Air IMO.
  19. On ride photo with the tent. After extensive research into the known tent, the only ride that doesn't feel the full force of the Marquee is Colossus. And even that is ruined by Thorpe Waterski.
  20. What a fantastic, detailed theme. I just want to see those wheel covers.

    2013 Changes

Ah the Mondial Capriola. It;s a great ride but the throughput would be diabolical at any theme park. Even at funfairs you have to queue a good 10 minutes for it..
  23. You mean like"The Swarm might not be the sort of coaster that makes you go "WOW" when coming off and its quite short but its a quality addition to the park and far better then some of the gimmicky rides Merlin have put in over the last few years. The Swarm is easily the most smooth and most quietest B&M I've been on, its night and day if you compare it to the Furius Baco trains"from Theme Park Reviewor"My view on the ride is that its a grower. First ride was front right side (over the bridge) and although a few nice feelings through the elements it was a bit of a let down. During the day I rode in various positions and now favour front left (not going over the bridge). This is no Nemesis by any stretch of the imagination for me. It doesnt even compare. In my rankings its Number 11 in the UK and 42 in the World. The ride is pleasant, but not intense. Its a good solid ride, but thats all it is."from TTFor"Swarm was nice. Not brilliant, not crap. Nice. To be honest it is a good addition to the park and looks amazing. I would say however it needed to be taller, longer and faster."from Coasterforce.Hardly spell-binding reviews but hardly the torrent of negativity you for some reason are predicting.
