That it will all be over in less then 16 seconds?

Egg on Thorpe park's face when several amputations take place on the first public ride on Swarm.

People who are inpolite.People who don't know how roundabouts actually work.People who deliberately drive onto motorways at 30 miles per hour. That part of the A22 that no matter what happens, without fail, I will always get stopped by the red lights.People that drive at 50 on a 70 mile per hour road. The same people that drive at 50 on a 30 mile per hour road. STOP BEING SO CONSISTENTLY BAD AT DRIVING.

I voted good. It remains the only ride that I am scared off, Marc will back me up when I say everytime I ride it I do end up screaming just that little bit and no matter what I do my eyes end up closing. It's probably just the un-naturalness of the launch that does it.Sadly Stealth has a fundamental flaw that its ride time and length is so short. Rides like The Incredible Hulk, Shock and I-Speed really show that a launch should be followed up by something far more substantial. We could argue to the end of time that Stealth doesn't need more track because that launch is memorable. The problem being Stealth was outdated by Storm Runner, Kanonen, Xcelerator and Superman Escape before Stealth even opened. The general public, it won't matter. As an enthusiast its quite a flaw. And the theming is rubbish. Things that have been abandoned and a giant tyre do not a theme make.

I think the rides staff are the most miserable of the Thorpe staff actually, sure you get the few good eggs but majority they are the ones sitting in their cabins or chatting amongst themselves. It's the F&B and retail staff that really shine as they always attempt a conversation with you whenever you try and purchase something. Particularly in the shop next to Detonator, they always give a pleasent experience.

Really is a work of beauty. Such effort has gone into the look.

Get me to the Beemers :wub:I also approve of the hand drawn look of the map. Tis all pweety.

That's excellent. If I recall, last years main problem at Thorpe was running out of food on AP day, the rides pretty much behaved themselves. It's good to hear that most things are ahead of schedule.

I plan to ride it in the mind that it was only the second B&M in Europe when it was built and that in 1995 it was the worlds first eight looping rollercoaster. Kraken, Superman de Acero and Incredible Hulk are going to have to sit at the back of my mind.

Will the UK ever produce another world class coaster?
Mark9 replied to mccoaster's topic in General Discussion
100%, fully agreed. It's hard to understand these days what a revolution Oblivion actually was and the impact it made on the UK coaster industry is huge. -
Great find Peter! I remember following that site religiously back in 2005/2006. Hard to believe Stealth is entering its seventh season already.

I'd rather have a short but sweet rollercoaster like Swarm, then one that rambles on for two or three minutes doing nothing in particular (The Big One, I'm looking squarely at you).So now the roofless station becomes clear, seeing that train rolling above you is going to be yet another amazing feature of this ride. It's taken what Nemesis does so well (when you are sitting front row and see the train coming towards you and over the station) and given it a Thorpe Park twist. Wonderful stuff!

Going back to this post from November because as more and more of Swarm has been shown, it's quite clear that it has the potential of being (if not world class) then one of the best themed rollercoasters in the UK.I find the analogy quite interesting. On paper, Nemesis is about as average as they come. Not very high, only four inversions, not much of a first drop. Nowadays it has been eclipsed by more intelligent versions such as the Dueling Dragons, higher and faster versions such as Katun, was basically ripped off in Black Mamba and even spawned its own sequel with Nemesis Inferno. If Nemesis hadn't been the first of its kind in Europe and indeed one of the first B&M Inverters in existence would it have the same reputation that it currently holds? I've seen many a people say Oblivion is better then rides such as Griffin and Sheikra despite Oblivion being shorter in length and height. With Swarm, it won't have the benefit of being the first in Europe and Raptor has set an incredibly high bench mark for Swarm to beat. I think Thorpe can pull it off. Whether it will be as good or better then X-Flight and Wild Eagle is up for debate. -
There are so many rides throughout the Merlin kingdom that needed some kind of refurb or work before Rush Mr Kabz

Pretty much confirms everything that I thought about the ride. Nice and speedy through relatively straight track and overbanked turns whilst going through inversions at a snails pace so you really will feel the wing-rider position properly through-out. That first inline off the lift hill is going to be immense. And that roar. Now we know fully that B&M is back with a bang. What a sound. :wub:The next two months cannot go fast enough in my opinion.

Bit confused what you mean when the wind from the rotors and the speed in the helix may present no change in effect. Do you mean you won't notice it when you are on the ride. In which case that doesn't matter, as Marc pointed out, Saw's Saw's spin and make no difference to the ride but it gives a good bit of interactivity and look from a spectator point of view.

Ooh I dunno, talking about Swarm and locusts seems rather apt to me.
