The News
Never have I felt so ill at being a human being. To know that these riots are now happening only a bus journey away from where I live or 5 minutes walk from where the fella lives makes me feel scared and afraid if I'm honest. Yes the media is feeding this but, I read the BBC news app and the list of places where things are being destroyed, peoples homes set on fire and ransacked, it's too hard to ignore. The worst part is it is no longer about Mark Duggen's death and now its about selfish human greed. It's the police on the front line, its the people watching their 5th generation businesses going up in smoke that are going to be the real victims in this. It's disgusting. We are worse then any creature or being.

Parc Asterix
Very very nice. I like how tight the layout looks so far. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be quite front loaded and then has a crap ending.

The Big Bad Movie Topic
Few weeks later and I've finally seen a recent Harry Potter film. I have to be honest with you, I've only properly seen Goblet of Fire and I haven't read the book since it came out four years ago so my memory was a little bit patchy. Deathly Hallows part two is weird. For most of the film you wonder where are all the characters you know and love. Snape is in it for about 10 minutes maximum. Even if his plot revelation is the main turning point in the film, his appearance just seems tacked on. Deus ex machina esque almost. The same can be said for characters like Hagrid, Lupin, the Weasleys, hell even Ron and Herminone seem strangely distanced from the plot. The film is very good though even if it detracts from the book. Remember, the realms of our imaginations will be larger then budgets ever could compete with. And what is in Deathly Hallows is very good quality (even if certain plot strands don't appear). I liked the destruction of Gringotts, I liked Neville. I'd forgotten how important Neville becomes towards the end of the series and it was good to see him so strong, a leader at the end of the film.Voldemort is very funny. When he starts laughing and going hysterical at Harry's apparent death, I cracked up myself. There is one moment that didnt work in the book and it is even worse in the film. WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS Basically, the end in the book is a bit rubbish. Everyones married and everyones named their kids after dead people from Hogwarts. The film makes this even worse by not even attempting to age up (or dare I say it, recast older Harry/Hermione/Ron) the characters so apparently being old in the Potter universe is Harry with a beard or Ron being a tiny bit fatter. What made it worse is that the audience in the cinema started laughing at it to. Not at comedic elements but how silly it all looked. Shame really. 7/10

Parc Asterix
It's going to be Egyptian esque, hence why I call it European Montu.
-
The News
To be fair though, I'd burn down a 149 bus as well so it doesn't surprise me.Still, its ridiculous the damage this is causing to so many people when its over the death of one person.

Parc Asterix
European Montu looks lovely, adore its colours. Dark blue and yellow go so well. I personally think they should open it like that, would certainly add a gimmick to the ride..

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I'd be surprised if Air was filled with Sand, that makes some cracking loud sounds, far louder then Manta is.

Colossus
Thats two extremely positive Thorpe posts there Benin.
-
Colossus
Even beyond the subjective, Colossus is a success in every meaning of the word. The ride succeeded in putting Thorpe Park on the map, and remains the parks’ main workhorse in that respect. Furthermore, whilst many immediately write off multi-looping coasters, to the public they remain a unique phenomenon, especially Colossus which is quite unlike any coaster in Europe.

Storm Surge
Riding Tidal Wave or Loggers Leap sounds like a much easier option then. Better rides, more exciting, wetter.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
When you say very very parks build coasters year after year. Well Thorpe isn't. I'm not denying we are lucky to have another coaster 3 years after Saw, but what I am saying is that there will come a point when construction at Thorpe will slow.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Nemesis Inferno a year after Colossus is coaster after coaster. Three years is a long time in the coaster world..

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Probably as quickly as 2000-2006 when the park saw three rollercoasters, Tidal Wave and 7 flats added. Lets not jump the gun here, old day Thorpe had a lot of main-land to play with and many attractions which had seen better days. Modern day Thorpe is a park of technology, where the average ride age is very young. It will be a while before Thorpe throw coaster after coaster at the park again.

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
I feel so sorry for Hershey here, quite clearly B&M have designed a ride that has set a far higher standard with their new wing-rider trains and Hershey are left with an Intamin that is trying to improve on Furios Baco by trying to be the jack of all trades and the master of none. I look at that video and just can't quite work out what the ride's main purpose is because Farenheit and Storm Runner pretty much cover all bases anyway.Ah well.

THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Fire would be a good effect to have but even if it was added I couldn't see it being there for long. Before Tidal Wave's fire ball lines were cut, the effect completely stopped in 2004 due to the rising cost in fuel. Whilst they may not effect Swarm in its first year, it could easily come and bite it in the bum later on in the rides like. I would much rather the park added something that will have longevity then a pyrotechnic that will be turned off on the first days of 2013.

Thorpe Park Blows It Up!
I'm guessing Amy Winehouse can't be used as an effigy now...

Agreed with both points. So who do you guys want to pm their choices to

Feedback of the Forums
Indeed. Which is why I think a voting system would be the best way of doing this. Yes this is just a fun little theme park forum but often you guys have expressed how you want the forum to run and how we haven't met your expectations.I think the best and fairest way of doing this is for members to private message me the two members they think would be the best choice to be moderators on TPM. Which means everyone has a potential shot at running the forum, not just the members who post the most frequantly. Will need to okay this with the rest of the moderator team but I think this is the fairest way of doing it.The only issue is it could become a popularity contest which is not what we want.

Feedback of the Forums
My main thought on this is whilst Sheepie is on holiday we trial two new moderators a week. This will give them a chance to mod the forum and us the chance to see how they go about it. obviously, I think the forum should decide on who takes these positions. I'm sure us on the mod team have ideas who we want, but we'd like to hear you guys views first.

THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Agree with Marc here. If there was a relation to an IP surely they'd release that information with the ride announcement.

Random Picture Thread.

I support this notion. We'll start with lost City and Saw.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Ah excellent, nice and original name for the park there. Good video to build up anticipation to. The ride could go in any direction really. Like Raptor, Merlin are definitly going down Nemesis routes with their wing-rider coasters.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
