  1. Hes not wrong with Saw. its an absolutely atrocious ride.
  2. Thats no way to talk about Depth Charge and Rumba Rapids.
  3. Which to be fair, at the moment is far more likely at Towers than it is at Thorpe. Hence probably why Thorpe is still only seen as a one day park.
  4. Nemesis was sold on it being Europes first inverted coaster but their aim was to big it make the Jurassic Park of 1994. They aimed high and I think they delivered on every level. But back then this was a balanced theme park with a large array of rides for a large age range. It's not balanced anymore. They've fallen into a similar trap as Disney where everything has to be the next big thing, No warm up act, only the main event. I personally did not enjoy my trips last year. Massive queues, everything broken down. every area looking tired and run down. Chessington and Thorpe, for my money, are far better right now.
  5. Ah okay, I just read it as a flat ride thing. It's still a hard disagree for me here though and I think Towers are really stuck now. I'd only really consider Spinball & Rita to be a plus in the last twenty years, as you say Wicker Man replaced Flume (wicker with lower capacity), Thirteen replaced Corkscrew and Smiler replaced Black Hole. So we've actually lost a lot of capacity to get these coasters in, hence why we see situations like last year where everything is either broken or at 80 minutes plus wait times. Hence why all this talk about maintenance bills is a bit of a red herring, the maintenance at the park has been awful over the last two years. Crazily, I really really think Towers need to do what Chessington are doing (and what Thorpe did) and plussing the support ride line up to help the rollercoasters and to spread the demand.
  6. I'd agree if that was true. But it isn't. Each time we've lost a flat ride over the last twenty years, we've gained empty space not a new rollercoaster. Ripsaw - Nothing Boneshaker - Nothing Dynamo - Empty space for 9 years, it's replacement lasting only 2 and a half years Mushroom Swinger - Nothing (although I'm still not sure if that twister is a permanent addition or not). Enterprise - Nothing Submission - Nothing You can count the temporary retro squad if you want, I don't as they are literally desperate additions to spread the ride line up. Towers is full of these empty holes where rides used to be. None of the current rollercoaster line up were made possible because a flat ride left the park.
  7. Enterprise has officially gone with its hole now filled (no jokes, please).
  8. It's been completing its full test runs as well. It's exactly what I expected it to be and yet that giddy thrill of a real, proper, big manufacturer modern rollercoaster at Chessington just fills me with pure joy. I love it
  9. I thought it looked faster than I was expecting which is weird to be honest. I'm frankly amazed it makes it around the track.
  10. And yet you willingly included your email address in a post and got signed up to lots of porn accounts. Guess you can't see everything. What would you like us to speculate about? The comedy duck from The Flume being included here because all manors have ducks? Maybe they could include the giant blueberry girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All manors have blueberry bushes.
  11. I mean, she had such a huge impact in Haunted House and Duel. Pivotal almost.
  12. I can't believe the ride that everyone hates is being adjusted and everyone hates its even more.
  13. I mean, it's cool that it's confirmed to be a Mack. All we need is an RMC next year at Drayton and then the UK is back on the world stage.
  14. I'd rather the deconstruction was happening on that ride to be honest.
  15. I mean it could be better than Phantom Manor but basing it on marketing alone is a bit odd. We know what Phantom is about, we've had four years since it reopened. We don't actually know anything concrete about the new attraction.
  16. So where are you going this year. The world is essentially back to normal (lets avoid talking China) so rollercoaster season is back on the menu boys/girls/everything in-between. For me May - Poland for Energylandia and the other one with Lech coaster June - East coast trip for Kings Dominion, Busch Williamsburg, SF America, Hershey, Dorney, SF Great Adventure & the big Mall place in new Jersey. I've tried pushing for SF New England but I don't think I'm going to win my corner as it takes us way past New York and the Hubby is resisting my need for Batman. August - Back to Florida to get on Tron, Guardians, Pipeline, Ice Breaker, Tigris and Iron Gwazi Somewhere in-between, money dependant, I'd like to out to Parc Asterix for Toutatis, Madrid for Batman, Finland for Taiga, Germany for Mythica Coaster & Norway for Speed Monster and the new Gerstlauer. And naturally my sights are fully on Mandrill Mayhem at Chessington. I wont be going to Towers, without Nemesis it's almost completely pointless and Thorpe I'll go because I might finally get a second ride on whatever becomes of the Ghost Train. So how about y'all?
  17. How will I found Sj95's instagram now?
  18. Alton Towers and Thorpe in competition to make the most misersable theme parks in Europe. Looks intriguing. Let's see if it retains the reridability of its previous incarnation. Duel famously would be walk on when the rest of the park was rammed soo.....
  19. It will be horror themed, people love doing horror film rides over and over and over and over and over and over again.
  20. I can't believe that most parks are making really amazingly paced rides with interesting layouts and Thorpe were like 'lets go really high' 😅😉

    Rocky Express

My favourite memory of Rocky Express is a South Park meet in I think 2005 where 38 adults attempted to get on the ride. Good times. Surprised the thing moved.
  22. Along with the Loggers Leap destruction, Nemesis track being scrapped and now this, it's been a really eventful closed season. I can't help feeling a little sad. And old. But mostly sad.
  23. What flat rides should Thorpe bring to the table? I'd argue Thorpe's flat ride collection is only second to Canadas Wonderland so I'd be interested in what the hole in Thorpe's line up is (breakdance). Dark rides yes. It's silly that there's one dark ride that isn't really to me a proper dark ride.
  24. I'm very excited for this ride despite all the obvious problems it's going to have with capacity and (probably) reliability this year. It just feels like Chessington is making a statement with first this and then the water park expansion.
  25. 'Here we have this huge warehouse space, right in the centre of the park. Prime real estate. Let's only utilise it for 20 days in the year'
