People have said Thorpe need to offer more things to kids...

It's just the method behind it... Josh stating the words 'short-term' is exactly the thing, although this is more a problem with Merlin as a whole rather than directly Thorpe themselves...

We want the parks to succeed, but we don't want them just grabbing second hand rides from a Sea-Life, plonking them down and calling it a day...

But then the elder child of the family is bored...

None of the parks in the London area provide for everyone, but only one is semi-trying to do something about it (presumably because it's the only one with any form of investment budget)...

Be that as it may, I still think its a cheap cop-out for Loggers being SBNO for 2 seasons now.

It's nothing to do with Loggers - if it reopens or not will not be linked to these rides.

It has everything to do with Loggers, without loggers and Timber & Lumber, even Slammer, even though its a thrill ride, the only operating ride in the entire area is Rocky Express. Which 90% of the time I just see the operator with their feet up because nobody wants to ride it! These two extra rides are attempting to give Old Town a bit more purpose but are failing miserably.

Rocky gets a steady ridership.  Sure it never has a queue, but rides like Rocky rarely do at theme parks.  It's the same for Rockin' Tugs and Frog Hoppers; you will see them at plenty of theme parks all across the world, but they'll rarely have a queue even in dedicated kid areas at family parks.

These sorts of attractions have a large appeal but their 'popularity' (ie ridership and queue length) will never reflect that, because they're never high up on anyone's list.  They're just rides people will ride occasionally, and the young families will ride in their dribs and drabs.

It might not look like they are pulling in the numbers, but they just there to give younger guests a bit more choice.
