richy2001
there have been alot of rumours flying around that The Vampire ride is soon to be leaving Chessington WOA.now this topic is open, hopefully we should be able to get to the bottom of the rumours and find out the truth........... Alex
Vampire isn't going anywhere. Removing it would be a pointless endeavour, because nothing could be built in it's place.
iCharlie
Possibly tell me where your getting all your 'information' from? Just because your last few posts have been all 'out of the blue' and have had nothing to back them up? & also, if there is a 'lot' of these so called rumours, how come I havent heard anything of them? richy2001
I was reading a report on the vampire ride, not sure what site it was now as it was quite a while ago, but they said something about it either being moved, replaced or just taken away? iCharlie
By any chance was that report on them changing the actual seats?

richy2001
no, they were talking about possibly removing the ride!
Mark9
Of course its posible, every ride has a limited life span, based on popularity and reliability. It's those two reasons which convinces me that Vampire will not be removed. Even with Fury which is significantly better, Vampire still gains the larger queues. Also it is technically a more reliable ride then Fury with very small downtime ever since its systems were redone by Vekoma. Not many people will remember how shocking the original Vampire's reliability was and how dangerous it potentially was. Vampire won't be removed for a long time as theres simpy no reason in removing a very popular rollercoaster.
Zebraman
You dont go to cwoa and not get on the vamp, it wouldnt be right. I think if they were to consider removing it the majority of cwoa fans would be against it.
Fred
I had a TL who was fond of spreading this rumour, that it'll go in a couple of years time "due to H&S".I believe its got a fair few years left in it - its definitely quite reliable at the moment anyway. (probably jinxed it now )
Whiteknuckle
I don't think Vampire will be going anywhere for a few years yet. If they thought it was going to be replaced, they might not have bothered with the Vekoma upgrade, but that's just my opinion. It's one of the main rides at the park, and the only coaster I can be bothered with. Mac
Peter, I'm pretty certain the TL you know is the TL I know....So yeh, a few more years, look at the ride, it pleases everyone, looks great, nothing wrong with it (par the apparent H&S problems), it's too much effort for them to remove it any time soon anyway.Btw, a Vekoma Launched would fit nicely in that space. Marc
I expect it will go... just like samurai went back to cwoa this year.... 8-)
Rich
I honestly can't see the Vampire going for a few years yet! It's reliable, it gets big queues in the summer, they can't really put anything else in its place and Chessington need to keep rides like vampire because it has a low height limit unlike Rameses, Dragons Fury & Rattlesnake. Rich
WHAT? SAMURAI HAS GONE????It's called Sarcasim (rumours going around last year that it was going back to CWoA) and please don't spam this topic, you could of at least gave your opinion if the Vampire was going to be removed. MikeC
Vampire won't go for another good few years IMO. It's a great ride, at peak it always pulls in queue of an hour, more than some other rides in park. It's incredibly reliable, and the ride and theming and general (what is left) is in tip top condition. And Rich, please stop spamming the thread by telling others to stop spamming

dj olly c
I like looking at the "bubble gum tree" in the que-line lol other than that I think its had its time, mabie a few more years left 4 it
Thrill Seeker
I used to enjoy The Vampire, but it has become rather too much of the same thing. My estimation is that they'll improve and revamp the ride, for health and safety reasons, and keep it at Chessington for another few years.Rides like The Vampire, Dragon's Fury, Rattlesnake and Ramises Revenge are all that Chessington has left, if they were to remove The Vampire, the park would start to become rather dull.
