SpuffySammy
Ooh, what grade? Seeing as your still playing (jumping to conclusions) you play first trumpet and toofpikk (now Heather something) will play second (this is non-serious at the moment btw, it could happen though). Matt, update the list. Another post: Doing grade 7 trombone this term! I've only been playing for 4 years lol, trombone is definitely a natural instrument for me And why is this topic dying? The same can also be said about the 'music' topic. Edited May 15, 2016 by Tom Double posting
Charlesberg
(I apologise for the double post, it was only for the sake of alerting this topic as editing the last post would lead to no one reading it) Just got one of my Grade 8 trombone pieces. It's 4 pages long... To put it in comparison, my grade 7 pieces were no longer than about a page and a quarter.

ThemeParkCrafter
I am studying music theory for grade 5 in order for me to do my grade 6 exam after and I find it very confusing and hard

Just do lots of past papers and you will be fine. I remember I found theory fairly stressful when practicing, etc. But when it got to the exam, I couldn't be any more relaxed. I then ended up with a distinction A pass is about 66/100 I think so the standards of passing are quite low. The questions are basically the same each time except with different notes (and worlds for the song question, which is optional). So you'll be absolutely fine when you get to the exam. Plus, the invidulators are very laid back.

3Dimensions
Spent 4/5 hours in a studio yesterday making recording drums for a sample library, didn't have enough time to record the whole kit (just did kick, snare and a hi hat). punks
I am studying music theory for grade 5 in order for me to do my grade 6 exam after and I find it very confusing and hardMusic is expression, not examination. Just so long as you enjoy it!Unless y'know... You fancy joining the orchestra or want to become a session musician.
ThemeParkCrafter
Well my instrument is not an orchestra instrument, more jazzy. I am in a quartet and large band of brass/ woodwind players

Josh3103
I would never play an instrument they are just too hard to play and anyway I'm not a huge fan of music
ThemeParkCrafter
Don't be put off by how hard the instrument may sound. Saxophone for instance, is not too hard to play and you have a variety of styles to play (from jazz to pop to classical)

L7123456
I can play the piano but very minimillay. Same with the ukulele. I can barely read sheet music. I used to be able to fluently, but I forgot it all.
