  1. I think all the theme parks have done there best so that their cut backs dont affect the guest experience, Alton tested the waters with closing rides / closing at 4 but with the backlash they thankfully went back on this, the reduced hours there / closed food outlets probably are not a huge effect on peoples days. Thorpe closed Saw alive, which even when it was open on the busy days this year was very unpopular and will probably close at the end of the year, again the open hours are not a big deal, especially when the park usually will open 30 mins earlier on weekends.
  2. They are all on our facebook https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151462836740624.839834.283706330623&type=3 - Should be the link!

    The Smiler

Thats not what I said, but id say its more likley we are to see a very well themed ride when the ride hardware its self is much cheaper than if it was a B&M. Of course with the exception of Swarm there all out side of the UK, and Merlin UK's attitude towards them things are significantly different.

    The Smiler

I guess rides effect people in different ways I'm still fairly surprised theyve gone down the eurofighter route, with the amount of problems Saw had (before it was even handed over to thorpe, so no blaming thorpe !), although hopefully with the cheaper ride hardware than if they had gone with a B&M / Intamin hopefully we will see some decent quality theming

    The Smiler

Maybe just personal preference but with the Colossus v Saw roughness, on Colossus if I actually brace my self against it, then I dont hit my head and I'm fine, with Saw no matter what I do, I will come off with a serious headache, my head dont even hit anything its just the jolts around the track which do my head in.

    The Smiler

Some would say a 10 looping one, not built by the people who brought us Sore - The Ride does so too
  7. Yes, Hand Of Sean you can download it here: http://www.dafont.com/hand-of-sean.font
  8. I'm not bullying anyone, just thinking of the good old days
  9. Obviously not, or we would have a song Show me the way to thorpppe parkk, dreaming dreams of thorpe park.... etc etc I'm sure Kabz will remember this
  10. I find thorpes security the best at this, I have seen and felt more intimidated at Alton Towers than I ever have at Thorpe, especially during Altons Halloween event

    SAW: Alive

We have been sent this from the park.
  14. Yeah maybe that didnt come out quite as I meant it At the end of the day nothing can come before health and safety and if its that age range of guests causing the most issues then personally I see no issues with it being limited to adults and familys until things are in place to avoid future issues. Id much rather they do it this way than close it personally.

    SAW: Alive

Just noticed that on the website that Saw Alive is now closed until Fright Nights..
  16. Josh, in my eyes that covers it, I guess at the end of the day when your on the parks property there in charge so to say, rules like this have been around on Fungle and Carousel before, and are enforced if the staff think its needed to do so. Because its the "people like you" (not you! ) who ride the ride, mess around causing problems, rides are very dangerous, even more so rides like rumba rapids, people messing around could very easily cause serious injury on the ride, for that reason they have decided they need to limit it for the time being for the safety of all who ride. To add to that , when I rode yesterday there are new signs up reminding people to remain seated and those who dont will be ejected from the park, I'm guessing somthing must of happened.
  17. I dont see how limiting a ride is discrimination, its in the interest of health and safety for all their guests. I doubt it will even stay like it very long anyway till a better solution is implemented.
  18. Can you really compare that to a riding a ride at a theme park? Thorpe's T&C's cover them selves regarding this, comparing it to giving out driving licences / knives IMO is a whole different extreme.

Your safe now tbh, I think the bottom 3 will stay as they are. Despite everyone telling me were up, I'm still nervous and not fully convinced!

At least they will be at one promotion party next Saturday..... hopefully!
  23. Fire effects have been installed for months, just waiting to get approved, the water effects have already been raised to get the soak zone wet.

    Rush

Both swings are decent and forceful now (null)
  25. I see your point, but I dont know what happened and I doubt many here do, the only people who will know about any incidents will be the park, if the majority of these incidents are caused by what they define as "adults" and choose to restrict the ride for a short time till measures are in place to improve this then thats ok with me.
