  1. Oh don't get me wrong I totally agree with you - but on the other hand I totally see / understand why the victims would not want it to reopen.
  2. I don't think you can blame any of the victims for wanting the thing torn down - it's easy to judge when none of us can come close to imagining the trauma these people have been through. The mirror are twisting her words for a sensational headline though which they will always do - it's probably best to get it all out the way now so the park can get on with the season and opening Galactica.
  3. I doubt it will mean more cuts - Merlin no doubt will have expected this and will have been in mind it's budgets.
  4. ^This it will be a great loss if PETA get their own way with seaworld, but it wont stop there they wont be happy till we are all vegetarians! Its a bit like the Asylum no we had here at thorpe (all be it on a much larger scale) I find the thought of visiting seaworld and skipping the shows madness, they are a huge part of what Seaworld is, the B&M's will be there for years to come, the shows might not be so if your at Seaworld see the shows, there is plenty of time for rides after!
  5. I thought this was only as San Diego and Orlando had no plans (for the moment anyway) to do this.
  6. I dont think they are going into it blind - it will be thoroughly tested - I cant really see headsets breaking etc being an issue, they will no doubt have spares. AS for the VR section going down- if there was to be a problem I expect that would be a shutdown like a technical problem on any other ride and closed to be fixed.
  7. I expect we will see a huge ramp up in the marketing when there is a confirmed opening date for the ride.

Stealth is more forgiving then say Colossus -- All the coasters have test seats you can try out, aslong as the seatbelt goes in you should be fine.
  10. I'm pretty sure Summer Nights was on the list of events from the start - I remember being pretty surprised they had returned and how many there was.
  11. Sorry but I'm not sure I agree, summer nights were just as quiet in 2014 - if not quieter when it was only Summer Nights without Island Beats attached. As for them announcing it after the MAP sale, The TP website has for a good couple of months had this years events on there.
  12. I really don't see how tickets were confusing? If you wanted summer nights you bought a summer nights ticket, if you wanted island beats you bought an islands beat ticket. It was also free for premium pass holders making it even easier. As for guest satisfaction id guess if anything the event ran at a loss many of the nights when there were barely anyone there, which is why they will be scrapped
  13. I'm sure its more the picture than the track - and if it is I doubt it will open like that!
  14. as much as they were fun - I don't think sending around trains with 2/3 people most nights (bar 3/4 maybe) can ever been seen as a sucsess. When cuts are being made its things like this which will obviously be affected unfortunately. For some reason our culture / late night theme parks just don't work, I remember back in 2006 when it was open till 10 throughout summer, the park was rammed in the day but gone 7 it was totally dead.
  15. They could use HTC Vive which is what DBGT will use which also has cameras enabling you to walk whilst still experiencing VR
  16. Personally doubt it's wide spread enough knowledge to really made a difference- maybe more to towers passes though

Of course they could be bored and this all be one massive troll!

http://www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk/news/29-01-2016/Speculation-Swarm-To-Run-Forwards Speculation at the moment but the signs are all pointing that way!

I'm not sure if I buy the "they are unpopular" line often thrown round. In 2012 when saw alive was closed it was closed because it's an easy thing to cut when the entire park was sturuggling - 'not because saw alive was unpopular.

They have escape rooms all year round across the country... They obviously received good feedback during fright nights which is why they are bringing it back. I honestly don't see why anyone could be against them bringing an attraction to the park, if it's of no Intrest ten don't go through it!
  21. ^Glad I'm not the only one heard this has gone up to £40. They are certainly trying with this one hopefully it pays of!
  22. I think its hard to judge what Merlin can do here - this is as far as I can think Merlins first big budget dark ride, the theming what we've seen so far looks good and of course the majority of it will be within the building.
  23. Thorpe park gives us some of the best theming we've seen in the U.K. In a long long time and people moan. I think it's important to remember Thorpe are not trying to rival Harry Potter land in Orlando here... And most dark rides have a bad angle to look at them from!
  24. Yeah they are - they tweeted a link to this video earlier saying it was part of the theme too!
