    Slammer

Its got blue tarps over the South side. It doesn't look like its moving for a few days (as a guess).
  2. Bump.Slammer, Stealth & Tidal Wave were down today. Made queues mad.
  3. I have had (not just Thorpe): For sure:Saw multiple times.Inferno multiple times.Loggers...Rumba...Charge...Rage loads.Det loads.X I had with me on one train and a friend on another so we could shout to each other for laughs, back in 2007. But now I'm not so sure if it was me at the back and him at the front of one. ....a go gator coaster :blink:Close to:Rush. Oblivion, just me and my mother, 6 times in a row to ourselves. Kobra at a pre-season media event.Dragster as the second car of the day, 4 people. Stealth, again just me and mother as it restarted. Jumped up SRQ straight on the front. They wanted to start getting it "working up" (4, 8, 12, 16 people...) and we were quick to our seats.
  4. Bloody retarded having 1 train op with queues... but...I don't know why, but I always get the impression that they lower capacity on rides to control crowds? For example, if they know a major coaster isn't ready from the word go. Thorpe's a tight park at the best of times, so how do you control people? Keep them in queues. Makes logical sense to me. Just trying to make sense of what always looks like crap operations...

    Your Thorpe Park

In relation to my post on the previous page, I give you the Final Frontier!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ELxTVa5-lUSet in a modern time Frontier City in the Old West, its a modern take on a Cowboy and Native American theme.Taylor Swift's Change was perfect for this as it discribes the narrative in a nutshell.Ride Stats:Type: Intamin BlitzHight: 98ftSpeed: 50mphTrains: 5, 3 Car Trains with a total of 12 rides per trainTrain Names: Choctaw, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Seminole & MuscogeeDispatch intervals: 1min, 7 secs MINRide Time: Roughly 1 Min Through-put: MAX 1440pph (Average 1080 - 1200pph)
  6. In Lost City I'd be pleased if the music stays different. The ambient is horrible and dull and makes a rather "sweaty" atmosphere, which is uncomfortabe in queues and a hot park. Rather than general Pop/R'n'B though, I'd much rather a defined tracklist and for the audio coverage to be better with high level speakers. They need some 'feel good' songs (not general current songs) instead of comforming music that gives the park a stereotype of 'chavvyness'. I used to love special launch speils, but to be honest they just waste seconds on every cycle that could be put to getting another ride in per hour. I'd probally say the same for Inferno's area. Its so dull. Every other area though... Theme music.

^ Intamin Family Coaster. There are many others around the world with a variety of different styles.
  8. If its like the old (by far better) tune, its like they have set it up so the left channel is the platform/ride and the right channel is the queue. So its all played from one audio track. Simples.
  9. I think it would be useful if the gates would open without having to have all bars up. That would save a lot of time. I guess it isn't as simple as just taking a function out though... I guess its a safety feature, but it just seems more annoying than anything.

    Music

From the amazing Taylor Swift, her new song; Mine
  11. Yeah I heard it working the other day too. It does make all the difference. The police car lights work now too.
  12. I got one suggestion. Put a cover/building over Samurai's queue. It is horrible in direct sunlight. Even low temperatures, the sunlight reflecting off the concrete makes it unbearable.
  13. I went on the 17th and the park was dead. Like Walk-on dead. Even for Saw partly. It only busyed up at mid-day for a short while. RC:Stealth - 9 (1 Front)Inferno - 3 (1 Front)Colossus - 5 (1 Front)Fish - 1X - 1 (Lights on)Saw - 2 Rush - 13Samurai - 2Vortex - 2Quantum - 1Saw Alive - 1Loggers - 1Slammer - 1Det - 1Rumba - 1Tidal Wave - 145 attractions. Thats more like it. Not many breakdowns to talk about. Effects were working everywhere. Saw runs much better when cold and nice to see boxes around the UV lights. All effects worked here including the strobes on the little drop.Plus I rode Rush with Sheridan Smith from Two Pints :DStaff were/seemed happy. Great day to be honest.
  14. Ohhhh. Ok sorry, I think I just got the wrong end of the stick then
  15. Why is my post an example? It was positive, showing it working. It looks awesome. Though now 3 letter have blown...

    SAW: Alive

This was better today. Actors were more lively and the intense music works well.
  17. Colossus didn't have any music today. Its actually is a lot better without it. I LOVE the way the power pole speakers rattle for some reason with every over-bass burst. Sounds fantastic :DSaw internal ambience was working. Good! 1 cannon on Inferno was thumping quietly. It sounded like when someone farts then chuckles to themselves afterwards. Rather dodgy, but amusing.

I don't think you should have to appreciate it for what it is to be any good personally. Ether its a good ride, or its bollocks. It sure is fun, RMT/Flying Fish sorta fun, but its not amazing or mindblowing or anything spectacular. The first section is boring. You don't really feel much movement, its that boring. The drop is the fun part, but it was never put into a context of anything, so it appears as a WTF kinda moment, rather than scary.
  19. ^ Ride in the front! And that goes for all Intamins with OTSR's! Or if you don't want the extra queue, grab the front of the back car, row 13. Arms up. Just vibrates a bit in the back end. Thats all.
  20. My dad lost £10's worth of £1 coins on Stealth. Was really funny as the coins followed the train (just sorta floated) up to the top and then just dropped! Some of them showered the queue too!I've also had confetti released on Stealth while on the decent. Fun being in a cloud of paper. Also someone on the front let go of their phone and a person near the back of the train caught it. That was amusing. As for a really close shave. I was on Rush swing B and leaning on that fence 20 mins before the giant washer fell off on May 27th 2008. I feel lucky...
  21. I wanna praise the staff on sunday. Whoever was operating at the end is great at doing a speal everytime a train is there. And how the hell they manage to get that train out in under 20 seconds 7 times on the trot is amazing. Didn't stack on Lift 2 and fast enough to get lift 1 slowing!
  22. On Sunday (mid-day) the queues were like:Saw - Out the entrance.Alive - First pen full.Colly - Second tunnel.Inferno - Pen 2.Stealth - Near coming out the entrance. Rush - Full queue.Our ride count by 1pm was:Inferno x3 (2 Front)Stealth x2 (1 Front)Colossus x1 (Front)Det x1Slammer x1Loggers x1X x1 (Back thats front)Rush x1Cba with the queues like this so we ****ed off to Chessie.Fury - 25 min with a break down (they were manually pushing cars in station??). Vampire - Near walk-on - 10mins.Rattlesnake - 10mins.Kobra - 10 mins for us as it broke down (shot up to about 60mins behind us).Tomb - 45 mins, it broke down the first time we went to it. Our Ride Count 2pm - 6pm:Fury x1Rattle x1Rammy x1Vampire x2 (1 Front)Mine Train x1Tomb x1Kobra x1Bucky x1Done.
  23. VE of WAVE is blown by the looks of things. The rest works.

    X

I actually enjoyed this more with the lights on today. It was better because I could see something rather than just pointless pitch black where someone might aswell be prodding me up the arse to simulate movement. I have to say, its rather clean and large! It would make a great new arena so they can rip out the old one for a coaster, haha!
  25. Oh this is the only thing I missed today before going to Chessie ...balls. Was pleased about a flashing TW sign though (even though it says Tidal WA, because the VE was blown).Good news anyway even though it just sounds like they swaped it to a different music area.
