Doesn't one of those pictures show that some of Rita's track has been painted a green colour?

    Spinball Whizzer

I'm glad that someone has commented on the snew ride audio! It sounds good then PC G?
  3. It's all about the Rush sound effects. You can hear the huge amount of air rushing in and out of those pistons. Slammer is another great one, great feelings too with the boom reaching the top of the towers and locking on before rotating.Alton Towers is great too with Oblivion's brake run sounds!

Although, sickness does happen. Have seen a splatter mid swing, right across the ride platform and operators window that thankfully, was firmly shut..

Remember, they're spending millions on a new roller coaster, they didn't have to even touch Rita. Just shows they are very much into the presentation of their park. With so much being spent on the new ride, be glad they're spending anything more to include Rita. Looks ok in my eyes.

I really am looking forward to this one and with more bits of news filtering through, things are making a lot more sense. "where guests will have to try and escape the all-consuming power of the creeping forest". Well, that explains why the Rita re-theme, the trains have the creeping vines all around and also the hand out reaching on the poster, with vines creeping up the arm. Sounds exciting, oh and Original! I'm glad Alton took this route now and Thorpe will get the prototype for a change!
  7. Tbf, Justin is just as bad!
  8. The ECC is pretty good, good magazine and trips too. RCCGB however, is a nightmare! (IMO).
  9. Best things are of course Rush and Slammer, really unique. The park does also have a good selection of coasters.Worst things are Fastrack and Saw the fun fair coaster; over hyped, bumpy fluff that stinks of missed opportunity!

    Your Thorpe Park

Ah ok guys. That's a shame, no B&M then.

    Your Thorpe Park

Wow, expensive year! I'd bring the coaster forwards and make it a world first B&M. No Splash Battles or flats..
  12. Yes, it's a shame the audio has to rely on staff, even the Tidal Wave church bell can easily be activated, but isn't. I always thought it would be a nice touch for operators to hit that effect on the hour.In regard to Inferno, yes there were general queueline sound effects (which can still sometimes be heard near the Inferno shop), you're right Peter and anyone remember the rumbling effect from the volcano queue line speakers? I hope one day they fix those small details too, as they suprisingly did with the volcano mist last season.
  13. The Inferno dispatch music is not at all designed to be heard in the queueline and general area. The Inferno theme however, is.The problem is that the dispatch track has to be pressed by the operator to activate it as a train leaves the station. This cuts out all the other audio and the pressed track plays instead. It also leaves the track open to operators who can't be bothered to activate the track too.Originally, the audio track was programmed to kick in as a train was dispatched. This is why the audio no longer passes through the bass cannons too,

I honestly don't know the exact reason behind the slight height difference. It could even be down to the ropes the ride uses. S&S Power have delivered completly the wrong size before-rope and thread! In regard to your engineer friend, don't go posting his name here to save the usual staff/fanboy/internet hassle, ta.

^ ..and that is why for the most part, the out of sync problem that the ride has, is a little bit of a mystery! Remember, that it is a fairly recent problem too, it was never that bad during it's first two seasons. S&S Power have been to the park several times to look into it.In regard to the two swings operating together or alone, they both have seperate cylinders that fill inbetween ride cycles and from the air dryer. You may also notice that if the ride is still for a while, perhaps a long time loading, then there is a loud hissing sound, which is the 'pop off' valve to ensure both cylinders have the same amount of preassure in and that they are not continuing to fill. When one side A or B is disabled, it's simply (well, not so simply), the valve to that cylinder. There are hundreds of emergancy valves to ensure either swing does not recieve more preassure than the other. You may be bang on in your post, all I can do is tell you what I know.
  16. Yeah man, it's chav culture innit? Dey bin talkin' to da chav's 4agez now innit, even Thorpe Blast advertised rides and TUNES.Respect bruv.
  17. I like it, always good to see something new. Not as nice as the 2005 site, all very white, clean and modern. I also never understand why the park get missed information about their rides..for example the press pack mentions Rush's height is 56ft (as it did in it's planning application), yet the website states exactly the correct detail I posted yesterday 75ft! Small detail however and nothing 'joe and jane public' would worry about! It's always fun looking over their images too, spotting kids standing up in Rumba Rapids boats and the one a year or two ago the kid swearing on Samurai! But yes, I like it. I'm already looking forward to the new season and hopefully soon a new planning application in regard to the new coaster next year too!Good from me. Don't like the big heads though, but I can live with 'em!

    Rush

I haven't got the details at hand. I have tons of official documentation on the ride else where, so I can look into the speed detail, although from what I know, both swings are run in exactly the same way.

    Rush

    I'm sorry, I don't understand: ??It [the ride] E-stops on 110o if that's what you're asking.

    Rush

Rush’s full swing height can be anything upto 75 ft (23.4 m) approx. The swing height can vary easily due to weather mainly, or how full the ride is, but it’s standard highest swing is usually at 108 o. Anything beyond 110 o and the ride will automatically E-stop itself. The ride structure is 19.9 metres and the pivot point, where the booms swing from is at 18 meters. Work that out and you get the height.Vortex swings upto 60ft (18m) approx. For reference, Rush's slightly higher swing A-nearest the operators console runs on average like this:0 o33 o47 o60 o84 o91o103 o107 o108 o108 o66 o38 o13 o8 o0 o
  21. The ride always has a little TLC during the closed season.
  22. Rush and Slammer are very interesting to Operate.
  23. There we're a couple of pink lights in there, yes. On the rock work and a back light on the waterfall. I have two videos of the ride in it's original guise, one in 1990 and the other is during the rides opening day in 1987.
  24. In the old days, the cave was dark and the only highlight was the waterfall that is still there now. Not much at all, but worked very well without loads of lights and sound effects. However, I do believe the cave was in a bit of a state and was starting to fall down, so was a good idea for the park to 're-theme' it when they did. Shame tho, the cave did work very well. In all, Thunder River was a lot better and the rock theming would have suited it's neighbour's volcano very well indeed.
  25. thorpeparkguide.comBoth different ends of the tunnel and a bad quality image, but shows how much better it was going into a cave, rather than the sorry state shed we've ended up with.
