  1. Well, I was just hoping to inspire some discussion about the matter, rather than as you asked, 'just say'..and Mac; There were; their gloves; and they're going..
  2. I must have missed that one! Saw has what the park call 'animations', different story sections of the ride-granted, most of them are very underwhelming and very under conceived. The ride has ten if you want to include the 'exit scene', which is on foot.Animation Five, which is the one you're referring to; is known as the 'Needle Pit' with hypodermic needles on either side of the car.
  3. Ahh, I used to love that friendly little fish fountain! Shame the park just dumped it in a field and left it to rot, rather than give him a re-paint. Would've been great to include him into the new, rather bare looking V2 of the fish what we are left with now.I have pictures that I will dig out and upload. Shows all of the old ride cars dumped there too. Such a waste..

    MTDP

It is amazing how much it's all changed on that side of the park, compared to how it was before we lost it. All of the buildings remain, but the water edge has obviously been made closer. I will dig out some pictures, if allowed..

SAW the ride. compared to names such as Oblivion and Nemesis, Vampire and Colossus.. is crap, however is a personal choice.I'm very interested to see what changes Rita has. Colour and name..
  6. Trappers Trail, was awesome! It was located exactly where Slammer is now on the side of the 'Drive in the County ride' hill (that was flatterned for X). Most of the remaining hill was then removed for Slammer and dumped at Treasure Island, creating the hill there.

    Rush

Everyones sick is different. If you think it should take 2-3 mins to clean, then I challange you to have a go. It's gross and can get everywhere.
  8. Slammer has also been down, but I beleve will be back up very soon. Rush is having some swing issues resolved, as sarcastic as that sounds.
  9. Was my last post invisible or are people still ignoring previous posts here?
  10. I saw a man dragging his leg along the offload platform of Stealth. Completly out of it's socket.
  11. I believe it's being called a 'fault' as it was mentioned THE friend should go to guest services after riding a small amount of rides during her day. However, THE friend decided to queue for the biggest rides first, along with most of the guests therefore, ensuring her low ride count thus, calling it her 'fault'.Glad she had a great time anyway. For some, it's not always about the rides.SO, An Intamin accelerator coaster. 205 feet....discuss here...

    Slammer

Again, it all depends on staffing and how quick and confident you are. I could batch and check bars on the remote side and if there was a slow staff member on the MOC side, I would have time to even batch the next ride too, before they're finished.Slammer is a picky one in regards to it's batching and loading, there are lots of gates to be checked, low down restraints along small foot plates to be checked, not to mention THAT restraint realese key, use it on one restraint and there will be atleast 5 other guests wanting theirs done too...ONTOP of that, the ride needs to be balanced remember and there's always one or two who don't want to ride after they've been batched and wristband holders waiting to ride at the exit..Hopefully, the ride managers are aware of who are fast and work well on the ride. Team those people up and you have some speedy operations. However, have one person who's more interested talking about the social, or counting the seconds to their break, then they can slow up the entire thing altogether.

And oddly, would then be the cleanest seat of all, after the staff have scrubbed the sick off!

    Slammer

As mentioned, Slammer's batching all depends on how many staff members they have. Often the staff member who batches the MOC side will be positioned during the ride cycle between the two exit gates. The Remote Operator, will batch the opposite side of the ride and is allowed to leave that position as soon as the Main Operator has released the restraints.More staff and they could have staff on every corner of the ride, thus making it easier and quicker to batch whilst the ride is in operation.
  15. In regards to Inferno there; there is a speaker ON the volcano (beside the arch on the queue line stairs), which back in the day used to rumble and play some abient sound effects. Interestingly, last time I visited a couple of weeks ago, these sound effects could be heard throughout the area and most noticably under the lift.

The drawings in that picture were done by me for the 2007 Fright Night season. The hopskotch reads from the batching area upwards 'U R D E A D'. There were other drawings around the ride area that all hinted at the various ways as to how some of the ghost children came to be ghosts. Images and drawings were also put up in the 'playground control' of sad children and grinning clowns, all to uphold the theme. I have images of all the graffiti I will upload if anyone is interested.I should also point out that I myself jet washed all those drawings up before the start of the 2008 season. The ride area and queueline were VERY VERY clean. The faded drawings still seen this season, were from fright nights '08, it was fantastic to see the park keep up my initial idea and ride launch track, although a shame no-one passionate enough to find the time to jet wash it for the start of 2009.
  17. Not wanting to tred on anyones toes, but I'm afraid effects are not high on their list of having all rides running all day. Thorpe just need more of them and need to put effects on the list on important things 'to do' and a change in culture to ensure they're seen as just as important. The park would rather have an effectless Nemesis Inferno rather than no Nemesis Inferno at all. Wouldn't you........... ??Saying that I have NEVER seen Rita smokeless, Stealth; it's a treat to see any smoke at all.
  18. When did you see the Nemesis INFERNO effects on? I know there has been talk of it, but I for one still haven't seen them for years. Friday all I saw were some oddly coloured gels over the lights in the tunnel. No mist anywhere at all and a big let down as I thought they were fixed. Of course not! haha..
  19. Well, I think it's a nice idea, remember on Loggers, guests are wet already too, okay not as wet, but I think it's a great interactive thing anyway. As far as the cost, if you don't want to pay, don't! People will pay and be up for a laugh, although I must say, I think it's rather sad the one ride that REALLY needs them on the bridge is Rumba. Hopefully we'll get some soon. A total, expensive re-theme of that is seriously needed, but hey, in the right topic!
  20. SAW THE RIDE???? HAHAHAHAHAHA OMG, u have to be joking me! For the UK, Saw is certainlly 'up there' but my God, Mystery Mine, where let's face our fears; Saw-the ride came from with it's story and fire effects can demonstrate where Saw could have gone. I mean, honestly can you really say the Saw indoor section didn't dissapoint? Did you all honestly come off thinking that was the best the park could ever have done with that? I love Saw and I'm glad we got it at Thorpe, but 'best themed ride'? CERTAINLY NOT.As Markus number Nine said, Black Mamba was pretty damn fine, I don't think I have ever had to pick my mouth off the floor. That station and lighting change on dispatch, not to mention the music and brake run music, yes, an actual brake run track! Was awesome and again as many said, parks away from the UK really uphold the statement directly from Thorpe Park on them being an island of thrills and not a theme park. For me, I'd agree on Revenge of the Mummy and say anything at Islands of Adventure, even their rapids blew me away and of course Disney's Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror is right up there.Saw the ride? Honestly...
  21. We have water guns on Tidal Wave?
  22. Looks like an old photo due to the red sign on the fence. From what I know, a lot of the signage has been cleaned up and so, I'm pretty sure it's an old pic.
  23. It's not about size. In regard to the Dungeon drop, it's a sharp drop for a second, but add music and DARKNESS, you're onto a winner.Saw's 'dark drop' is just vertical, giving it the edge. If the main drop was just vertical as Oblivion (and anyone who's been on Oblivion will tell you how fantastic that drop is!), it would be a different drop altogether. Oblivion makes Saw's main drop feel like an S&S Frog Hopper.IMO the Euro Figher was born from Oblivion, I imagine the company wanted to rival B&M'S expensive new vertical drop coaster, with a steeper drop and (at the time) more thrill elements, they hoped smaller parks who couldn't (or wouldn't) want to pay for the classy B&M title that brings reliability, comfort and ease of use for everyone not just the guests, would roll up for a Euro Fighter.Besides the exterior theming (all good) Saw's ride experience is VERY over rated and a jolty 'fun-fair' coaster. However, not a rant; I'm glad they went a bit further with it's theming rather than give us Rage.
  24. Well, if you guys liked it so much, fingers crossed the marketing team will get together and go in with Kinda Bueno and can put stickers all over the Saw cars and funny posters all in the queueline and station.

    Logger's Leap

If you jump into a roller coaster ride area, you get such a rush of wind as it races by.Please remain seated, or you will end up in the Sun; 'young boy falls out of theme park terror flume ride' and worse, your death will mean Loggers downtime and probably the addition of an uncomfortable restraint system for everyone else, not to mention, you will never see the next roller coaster addition at the park.
