If they're mine that I filmed in 1990, then I hope you give credit to me. Ride throughs on Phanton Fantasia and the Magic Mill can be found on my Youtube account, here.. Also, thought I'd upload this character that was put up, turning a fire exit into new entrance and the old entrance made into a picsolve booth and exit.Pretty good when she was animated.

I feel the same way about this forum sometimes.(Only kidding Marc!)
-
Not to mention being the first ride guests will see in the park! Fingers crossed it will look a whole lot better.
-
Silly reply. Alton Towers is without a doubt, the best theme park in the UK.
-
The whole section broke off, fell into the rapids and sailed along the entire course, in full view of guests. No, really, it did. Thank God, it didn't fall on anybody. Shows what a state the ride is in and a reason the cave was re-themed into the rumba shed a few years back.
-
It is! You can clearly see the amount of theming they are going for from the planning applications. The two giant snakes either side are going to look fantastic. I'm very excited as to what the area will look like in the new season. From Circus Land to Beano Land, that corner of the park has always been out of place.
-
Not that I'm aware of, no. The mist was so thick and just hung over the river, it was the like amazon!
-
Did you never see Raging River that was on the Rage site only a few years back then?
-
In my post, I didn't actually mention re-building the rapids themselves, just the surroundings as the plan was drawn. Other people are just throwing their ideas about. If anything, Rumba will be gone, rather than any huge work be done there. 'If it ain't broke, why fix it'?In regard to the effects, everyone knows that Thorpe are awful at the upkeep of these. However, does anyone remember the latter days of Thunder River and the mist they had pouring over the water and all through the cave? That was exciting and made it look fantastic.
-
But you haven't been before, have you seen how it looks? The idea of a paint job in darker blues, rather than the hash Red can only be a good thing!I imagine we will soon start to see some pictures though.

There was a plan to change the entire queueline with a path going around in the other direction and over the rapids themselves, a little like how they opened up Congo River at Alton Towers. The area where the queue line is now was intented to be opened up to become a better viewing area. It's a shame the plan was never put into place, I assume it was due to costs and the fact it doesn't really need to be changed.Another thing I would really like to see is the small square outside Burger King and beside Rumba, become an interactive fountain-for anyone who has been to IOA in Orlando, will have a good idea how it could work, currently, the area is very bland and could use a little life and would be perfect with the Rumba water theme.

God, makes me feel old. Rumba Rapids, Fungle Safari...?! I remember before fungle was re-themed and was Drive in the Country and positioned on the hill that was flattened for X. I remember even before that with the bumper bikes that were up there...don't get me started on Rumba Rapids...Thunder River you mean and JoshC, if the berry people had kidnapped you, I know a lot of people who would have missed you.
-
Also, the water level in the pool can easily cause the ride to shut down if it goes too low, or too high even!
-
Aye, I have never been able to upload a profile pic..

Excuse me, If you are going to copy and paste somebody elses exact post word by word from another forum, please atleast credit them and do not pass on their comments as your own.

Here's a couple of nice Stealth ones..

All of that infomation is taken from OFFICIAL paper work. Argue if you will, that's the official word. Crossbows, or hypodermic needles, I don't care for the effect at all. However, it is known by the park as the NEEDLE PIT and not the CROSSBOW PIT.As far as the drop degree, I believed it to be 100 degree's, but ride paper work says otherwise. However, that infomation could easily be incorrect.

There are queueline scenes, yes and these are known as;Queue effect One; 'FIRING RANGE'Queue effect Two; 'THE RACK', an actual prop from the films.Queue effect Three; 'RULES OF THE GAME', via the television screens up the stairs.Queue effect Four; 'HANGING MANNEQUIN', another actual prop that is from the films. The ride station itself, although themed to be Jigsaw's workshop isn't classed as a scene or an animation.

A sign as been on the cards for a while now and the park tried to up it's profile with stickers for the staff to wear.. A lot of the problem is of course the target audience now. Most people have no intention of riding a kiddie coaster. However, the park will still have families or kids too scared, or small to ride the bigger rides. For that reason, it should be just as important as the other rides.
-
Animation One; 'COGS' divice dispatch-the trap and the game, have begun.Animation Two; 'BILLY PUPPET', here's what happens if you loose..Animation Three; 'SWINGING BLADE', your device slowly heads toward them..Animation Four; 'SPIKE PIT', dropping toward the head chopper, covered in blood..Animation Five; NEEDLE PIT', the hypodermic needles fire at you..Animation Six; 'WASHROOM SCENE', the scene from SAW and the dead body spraying water..Animation Seven; 'GAME OVER', The TV screens at the bottom of the lift..Animation Eight; 'LIFT SAW', the spinning saws at the base of the 103 degree drop..Animation Nine; 'STORE ROOM', the devices re-enter the building full of old gadgets and machinery..Animation Ten; 'EXIT SCENE', and the games have just begun..So there they are. None are very complementry of each other, or work well together. It would have been nice to have had seperate rooms for each scene. The worst part for me is the amount of daylight in the building and sitting on the far right heading toward the swinging blade all you can see is the light and track below you going into the barrel roll. A smoke effect woud block some of that, but alas.

..and so you should! Grammer is awful on these forums as is the use of upper case lettering... Just an observation there young Mac

Except that no one can see it! Even the way the paving has been done, it was just stuck on the side of the path, hidden out the back there. The whole OG area should have been opened up, along with perhaps part of the wall from the beach to create a new plaza. An area for the families, with the headline being the Fish. I love the fish, but it's very hidden and sadly out of sight.
-
Well, bumpy wise, it's the same as it was in it's old guise! There is a lack of theming around the ride compared to the original fish, yes, but I do love the new character it's been given and the audio. I did hear some kids coming off of it a while back, all hyped up and they loved it! Imagine if X was turned forwards and bought outside? Another stepping stone for the little ones before they head over to the bigger coasters.Compared to the old fish yes, it isn't anywhere near as great.
