    Jobs..

I'm currently unemployed. Not that fussed at the moment though to be honest; I couldn't handle it. Summer job it is
  2. I honestly cannot recall the last time you said a negative thing about Thorpe. Nor can I remember the last time you didn't defend the park when someone made a negative statement. And if you find Chessington and Lego a bore, and would have bad things to say about them, you can hardly criticize people for having bad things to say about Thorpe, can you?
  3. I partially agree with this. As ever, it's the minority ruining the majority. The organised planned it to be peaceful, and that's all they did - a peaceful protest. And, as Outfit said, everyone has a right to be involved in a peaceful protest. Many other people also participated in it as well. Yet, some decide to go against this to make it 'front page' news. And, as for what Jack said above, I disagree. Peaceful or not, this protest would have got a lot of media attention. It was talked about a lot before the protest actually occurred, and - even if it received little attention now - it would always be referred to. As for the actual thing they're protesting over, I'm sort of in two minds. I am down right against a raise in tuition fees personally - life is expensive enough as it is. And the fact that it will likely come into effect when I start uni makes me doubtful of it all the more. However, as some people pointed out to me today, the raise in tuition fees will put some people off going to uni - thus meaning a degree becomes slightly more meaningful, as less people have them. It's just a shame that the people it could be putting off are those who come from poorer backgrounds.
  4. So it was my fault then? *Note to self: don't freak out the Templeman *

In no way am I criticizing Thorpe; they've done very well this season. It's just that whatever way you look at it, for a ride to be down for a month and for it to be labelled 'good' or 'an improvement' isn't very reassuring - whatever the ride or the park!
  6. ^That is just ludicrous on so many so many levels, it's unbelievable...

^For a ride to have a month down, along with having a few 'extended' periods of downtime during one seasons, and for it to be classed as 'one of the best' in regards to reliability is slightly sad for any ride...Yeah, Thorpe have improved reliability very much so this season, and I don't disagree with that. Just sad to think that a ride that's been down so much is on a better season...
  8. Yeah, that was it. I just like scaring people okay? :P

And no Keith on Vampire next year? That wouldn't make it worthwhile lmao!

  9. I too thought it was something along the lines of a virus swept through causing the attack of the undead in a ride graveyard... Nothing about dead girls in purgatory or stuff...To be honest, I think the main downfall of the attraction was the fact it was so maze like. When I thought of a 'scare zone', I thought of just a walkway that had actors in. No 'route' or anything, just a path with actors. However, it was much more maze like, which I think is making people compare it to the mazes more than anything...And the attraction isn't THAT bad. Of course it could be better, but it's another attraction that provides a 'quick scare'. It will probably develop over time too.The whole 'scariest thing in the world' thing doesn't help much either...

Which to some extent is rather sad...
  11. Keith.. My total Vampire ride count this season is an almighty... 2!! :(

  12. Despite the fact Stealth is there... :(Rode Stealth over 50 times during the past season, I think. And therefore needs a brain check for thinking the ride is so good...

^ On Saturday, shortly after it had closed, I overheard an engineer say 'looks like the compressors have gone again'.Hasn't been the best of seasons for Slammer, but was great to see it at least up running during FN!

To be honest, I was surprised Vortex was that low; I always thought theoretically it was 500-600. Feels a heck of a lot quicker than 350 max too..
  15. My last ride ended up being X:\ No Way Out... Now that truly is WTF...

No way could you have been there that long; huge exaggeration! Probably felt that long, but probably wasn't. I think it depends on the number of trains as to when each train is released. The less number of trains, the longer you spend on the break runs.
  17. I'd more like the zoo to have a universal theme in some ways. Like have each part represent a different continent like the park would. I think it would work better than trying to shoehorn every part into one continent. Though that would prove very hard in practice.. :/

Theoretical most probably. I really cannot see Slammer getting 500pph.
  19. With rides like Depth Charge, I doubt it...And it was fine for me yesterday, and on a long cycle...
  20. Well, this is what'd do over this close season:Some repaving. Couple of parts which are unsafe for wheelchairs.Toilets refurbished. They need it.Things happening to Toytown that could make this rumoured 'Every land represents some continent' easier to do.And from there:Vampire and RMT tune up. Just need a bit more TLC really. Rattlesnake should stay more or less how it is in my eyes. It's fine.A new family roller coaster in the near future (2012-2014) of large scale and throughput. Two family flats. One 'more adult' flat (1.3m / 1.4m restriction) so the older generation are still appealed to. Safari Skyway extension. 'Every land represents some continent' idea put in place.Basically, that and a bit more zoo expansion over the next 6-8 years would make Chessie practically perfect.

There was definitely new audio in both the exterior and interior queue lines, and pretty sure new audio on the ride. However, I didn't hear this screaming girl. I definitely think that the ride would prosper with a retheme per se, which drops the computer virus theme and stick to a slightly more generic 'No way out', with a rename to plain old No Way Out.
  22. How many coasters have they had to re-track / add trims to now!?!
  23. ^To be honest, I still think Bubbleworks is relying on memories for the GP as well. I'm pretty sure some just don't care about the branding of it and just see things as 'the carnival scene', 'the flashing lights scene', etc.
