Ditched you at the last minute? 2 days in advance is 'at the last minute'...?I've only ever been to Thorpe by myself once. I was meant to be meeting a friend at lunchtime, so got there an hour early to do Stealth - he hates the ride - and to take some piccys. Ended up that he couldn't find his Annual Pass and couldn't go. Thought I may as well stay for a while longer whilst I was there. It was naff to be honest. Just don't do it; really no point..

I must say I was slightly shocked when I saw 4 actors going into Saw yesterday! And if we want to get into ride counts for Saw; 29...

I'll think I'll be giving Storm Surge a miss first thing now..None of the effects were working. At all. The shower didn't come on, the water canons weren't working (even when people were trying to use them), yet they were fine later. So yeah, kinda put me off going on first thing.Slightly unrelated - but I saw Ricky there too! I was going to say hi, but after his ride on Surge he disappeared somewhere.. Typical

In my eyes, there's not much - for me - to discuss about either of them.Raptor - everything looks amazing. The ride seems just amazing. Everything seems to flow so well. Yeah, I could spend a couple of hours trolling through the internet to try and find what I think is a flaw, but that's just way to time consuming. Basically, what I'm getting at, is Raptor looks incredible. But I can't discuss it further than that. I can say, it looks amazing, seems amazing, etc. But what use is that to a discussion? Practically nothing. Sure, I can look at it, add the additional comment / info, but that's it really.LC12 - I know more about it, so I'd be able to 'chip in' a little more for discussions, be it with facts or something else. But at the moment it is dirt - just dirt. What else can I discuss? Nothing. So yeah, I can't really discuss either of them, but I'll post more in the LC12 topic, because that's what I know more about.To be honest, when it comes to the stage in life where people I being told what should and shouldn't be talked about, I just don't bother either way...

I may not know a lot about IBS or what mental disabilities are, but IBS sounds more like a physical disability to me. You say you get worried / paranoid over it, but that's not because you have IBS - not the IBS causing it. I totally agree that you don't need to be physically disabled to be entitled to a disabled pass, but there's a point where you have to draw a line. I've seen it get to the point where people with mild ADHD have been able to get disabled passes. I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. I agree that people with mental disabilities should be able to have a disabled pass, but a firm line must be drawn...

Well, in 2006 when it first opened, it was advertised as 0-80MPH in 2.3s.In 2007, it was 'upgraded' to under 2s (1.9 as RCDB states). It was never modified, just Thorpe changed where they were measuring. I think 2.3s is the time from the beginning of launch track to the end of it, 1.9 being the actual reaching to 80MPH.So, in other words, pretty sure it's 1.9s - though not 100% sure

I do believe it stated on the plans somewhere that the 'up to 50m coaster' (that was stated to be on island C) could be built in 2015 (in either island A or C) and that this coaster is actually just going to be the 'up to 40m coaster'.But either way, height doesn't mean that much when it comes to most rides...

It's an old ride. In my eyes, I'd expect to see some leaks here and there. Yeah, it's not the greatest thing to happen, especially when it can leak on guests, but there we go. Loggers Leap leaks, Tidal Wave leaks, Depth Charge leaks - it happens. It's nothing really to worry about...

CCR doesn't have a tunnel.It's a fake route; the 'tunnel' (I believe) is an entrance for engineers for Loggers Leap's tunnel. So simple, yet so effective.EDIT: Tidal Rave beat me to it

Rode Inferno today - mist and lights full blast in the tunnel.Must say that the hissing from the mist really adds to it as well!

I completely understand it when people are upset when they didn't do as well as they thought they did - most people are like that.But when it all boils down to it, if you've got an A, you've got an A! It's hardly like an A is bad; yes, people may have wanted the A*, but like Ellie said, GCSEs have little worth if you do A Levels. I'm not going to lie, I got an A in GCSE Maths and I was disappointed with it. But an A is still brilliant, and it's not like it's stopping me from doing anything.And when it comes down to the idiots who feel the need to resit exams when they've already got 96%, then it just shows you how 'clever' they really are. In the end, school, college or uni, you're there to do the best that you can, not to be the best there.

Nope.The general idea with Thorpe is that a new roller coaster is their main advertising point for two years - the year it opened, and the following year.I quite like the advert. It ended up being how I thought; Storm Surge being 'just another ride' included in. I like the idea of people being in a warehouse trying to have fun, then the whole cutting to Thorpe and that. The voice is annoying, but bearable I guess. In other words, JoshC. likes!

To be fair, if Alton had marketed it as what it was meant to be, then there'd probably be less moaning about it. This. If enthusiasts, the group of people who care about the parks the most, can't even get excited / anticipate / speculate new additions, then what is the point?

It's hardly cold here at the moment. It rained for about an hour today, quite lightly, and there was the first Friday of the season where it rained - those are the only two 'bad weather' days I can recall. It's in the low to mid-teens weather wise, and I'm seeing people leisurely strolling about in shorts now. So yeah, no need to 'turn them off'.Also, can the weather be blamed for a broken handle (which I believe has happened to one of them?)...

Because that's Dollywood. Dollywood could probably open a new set of toilets and get a huge press opening...Most of parks wouldn't get big press openings like that unless it was a major addition. To be honest, I'm glad that recent British rides (Saw, Th13teen) haven't had huge openings - they got a nice bit of TV time, with POVs, reactions and the like and really got it in the public eye quite well.

I have a couple of old Chessie stuff.I've got an ORP of Dragon Falls from the late 80s early 90s (when it was called Dragon River I believe) tucked away. Been meaning to upload that for a while now myself. ;)And I know I've got a recording of being on the old Chessington Train lying about somewhere - I just don't have a clue where!
