Yep, only small investments really however they do intend this to be their flagship park so who knows it might get a bit more development than other parks in the chain, but yeah don't expect to see any huge coasters and expensive manufactures being used. As its part of pre pack administration I guess all the debts from before get wiped so may be easier to start making a profit. Interestingly they've kept the original owner on as MD.

To be fair it is only walk on because everyone goes on it first thing (that Or Saw is what most head to these days) and once its done the area is a dead end so thus no reason to go back resulting in quiet queues post 4pm almost every day. It is popular among GP and most non enthusiast groups I ever go to have to be talked out of riding Swarm first!

The 'Definitely 100% Totally Going to Happen' London Resort
Mattgwise replied to Liam T's topic in UK Attractions
Surprised nobody has even mentioned this, quite a popular discussion point on other forums. I know many still don't think it will ever happen but at least a form of progress has been made. Consultations are now open and regardless of your belief for the project I think it would be in all best interests for us to be positive and support it. If many of us send positive feedback on the proposals that will help those NIMBYs and few people that will try and stop it and prove their is a desire and want for it to happen. https://consultation.londonresort.info/surveys/50 -
I was told regarding the drinks that only the one in the dome would be used for the foreseeable future to ensure it is cleaned properly and often. Later the same day the Rush one appeared to have opened but with one machine and fewer options. I guess this is again to reduce use and be able to clean it much more easily. You're activation is only today. It will rest at midnight. You can reactivate it in the island shop for £6 or a £4.80 with MAP discount. I really like the system and when it's not got supply issues it works really well, just a shame more can't be open for now but understandable. I do find it odd that they are all being used at Towers and Legoland (I believe)

Nothing at the weekend either. Very odd!!

@Ivsetti did you know there was a stabbing in a hospital in Brighton yesterday? So do you think all this time they were uncaring to their patients/visitors and therefore clearly not doing enough to keep them safe! I don't know how you can blame Thorpe for this. I thought all aspects of customer service were fab on Saturday!

Odd to hear. I was also on park yesterday and joined a long compulsory queue to get in where bags were thoroughly checked. I believe they do take security seriously and have done more than is usually needed. Only exception was no bags meant you walked down the middle, but even then there was a security member with a table set up doing random searching. Whenever I have been to Chessington or Towers the system was the same with only bags being checked. I think it always seems busier as more turn up at once in Thorpe. Chessington it seems people's arrival is more spread out and the gates usually open very early, whereas Towers have the monorail usually to space out guests arriving at entrance. Would you be searched going bowling, to the cinema or shopping? No and the same thing could happen there. I don't think it's fair to blame thorpe for this personally.

It's true, was at the park today and caught up in the lockdown. The incident took place on the bridge. Staff handled the situation as well as they could and coasters stayed open. We were allowed out from around 630 and had to leave on the right side of bridge on the raised bit with the rest of the bridge taped off and many police stood adjacent to the tape. Blood marks could be seen on the floor. Thorpe have since issued a statement on socials.

Getting there slowly Any ideas on the freestyle machines? Towers have been in use since Tuesday?

Yep It still needs a minimum of 15 to ride. But one reason is to stop it getting stuck in the position shown in the video. 15 or more is supposed to make it weigh out to the 9pm point from what I remember. So not sure why it's gone to the 12 o clock point.

A woman has died after she fell from the Formula 1 coaster at Parc Saint Paul in France. Seems its not the only time someone's fallen. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8490215/Woman-32-dies-falling-Formula-1-rollercoaster-Parc-Saint-Paul-theme-park-France.html

I think you have hit the nail on the head there. It's exactly why the forum was thriving ten years ago! If Thorpe announced a total multi million pound refurb, major new coaster or even a new buyer then conversations may be different.

To be fair the entrance looks a lot fresher, even just the bright orange and yellow banners on the hideous metal fences makes a huge difference. Even the dome and Infinity restaurant look modern, sleek and stylish. BUT for a theme park it's all soul less and bland. It is not theme park material. Fins at least aimed to fit an "island theme", which the audio and branding was changed to. Now yet again we have a mis mash of themes and nothing makes sense. By the time the park gets updated to its new brand (how many brand changes have there been in the last decade or so?) it will change again and there will be a mismash.

You forgot to mention the lovely landscaping in the queue to that sinking boat. Courtesy of Theme Park Guide. 😂

Haha! I'm sure it will be sorted. Is the green light fixed more importantly? Hope you're having a great day.

Yep I guess so. Well looking positively at least people have something to read on their Saturday afternoon 😂
-
haha, I won't continue, I will accept I am wrong and that there is potentially huge love for the ride and if I ever get on it I will THEN give my TRUE opinion 😂
-
So people don't share opinions and discuss things people say the TPM forums are dead. We then discuss things and people share views (which is what this place is for) and people don't like it. I give up and will say no more.

TBF it doesn't look like they are ready, there was nothing at all in prep for covid 19 measures in that JS video only filmed a few days ago. But I suppose on the other hand you could argue that in fairness it's more sensible to hold off all the signage/markings what with the high chance of the measurement dropping to 1m. Would have been a pain if they'd printed and put signage up with 2m guidelines to then have to redo it all if it does drop to 1m.

If it's your thing then fair enough. Doesn't do it for me and until I have kids I won't be making any effort to ride it unless it has a very short queue. Aside from the station, its a very dull layout, has a poor queueline and ride area of soulless. I just feel it's a bit disappointing for Efteling personally. But I suppose when you think of the plans they had with their expansion not being able to happen due to the planning getting rejected I guess its a decent enough addition/replacement.
-
You can go with Matt then. You'll have a grand day out haha. I'd queue no more than ten minutes personally, although once I have children of course, I'd happily queue for it
-
But you are looking forward to riding it haha! The station whilst good doesn't look as great in comparison to some of their other attractions (although still knocks the socks off of a lot of stations of course). I think for Efteling personally all aspects are just a bit disappointing.
-
Matt! Yes decent enough for any children out there. Not for you! What looks great?
-
This is EXACTLY the phrase I have been using the last few weeks! Totally agree. Just wish some of the members here would realise its not worth queuing for more than ten minutes unless you have children!

TBF Blackpool has the same average temperature in December as in February (technically better as day time temperature the same as February but night temperature 1 degree better) so if it manages February just fine I'm sure December will be also fine in terms of temperature. Precipitation however, significantly worse and the west of the UK gets enough rain at the best of times!
