Could well be! It appears as if Google maps has very recently updated its aerial view of the park and that could be an older version of that same area highlighted above. That said I can't imagine anything being able to be built there tbh as that would require an insane amount of tree removal. It probably has no meaning to anything new at all but time will tell. EDIT: Could even be the location shown here but rotated: Wasn't the hotel planned slightly right of this location???

This makes me laugh more than the actual post you have quoted! The forum is a place for opinions and supposed to be a fun place so there was no harm done in saying what was said! Clearly Cedar Creek (and myself) was joking and would not think those things would actually happen!
-
I was originally with the "bring back big top" idea but since thinking more about it, the event just needs a complete refresh. 4 or max 5 mazes that are brand new, well thought out and high quality. Everything already done including popular attractions such as "Big Top" ans "Asylum" just need to be put to rest.

Good shout, I am confident we shall see Slammer, Loggers and CCR return, but seriously no chance of the rest I'm afraid Cedar Creek!

And so it's that time of the year again with closed season upon us, so it's also time to revive this thread! What changes do people think we will see during closed season and into next year?

13 horror attractions!

Everyone is hoping Storm Chaser is a new coaster rather than a retheme, but either way this will be done well. Looking forward to seeing this park develop over the next decade or so.

I can't make too many comments having not been since 1996! However seems a similar story to what happened at Chessington as we entered the late 00s. At the same time, though you give some very valid, sad sounding reasons, the charm being lost may also be to partly do with your age as well, as it's a very different park for an adult compared to a child, and it is far more geared to the latter.

Half term was last week (it's this week up north) . Tickets for Halloween are currently going for £44 and it changes from £33 to £55 depending on how many tickets have been sold. I would imagine it could still potentially get quite busy with many visiting after school and into the evening.

Wow, absolutely disgraceful that they liked that tweet (as great as it is)! Truly shocking!

What doesn't add up in my mind is why Thorpe close the coasters when it is 4/5 degrees yet up at Towers it was 3 degrees maximum and even snowed this morning, yet all the coasters bar Thirteen were open until 9pm.

Apologies for the double post, but cannot get over how insane this was nearly two weeks ago, compared to Tuesday. Literally had two full turns around the top and then lowered again! This means in the space of a fortnight I have had both my best ride ever and worst ride ever! Talk about inconsistent!

Stargazing Pods - New accommodation for 2019
Mattgwise replied to Stuntman707's topic in Alton Towers
I love how this still look luxurious compared to the Stargazing Pods, and these Premier Inn ones are actually cheap to stay in! -
I still can't get my head around how good Samurai was on Saturday. For a nearly 20 years old ride it was back at its best (after years of awfulness) So no please no replacement for now!
-
Worth a mention actually, it sounded a lot better around Tidal Wave and Stealth plaza. Only thing left to sort out now is the third or so queueline speakers for stealth that are not working (and cranking the volume up slightly in the queue)
-
I heard the director in pizza pasta for certain. Not sure where else I heard it.

Great summary of what we experienced. It was so bad it became absolutely hilarious, and as you said, then the highlight of the day.
-
This ride was insane yesterday. Yeah not quite as insane as the travelling fair versions, but it was probably the fastest and most intense I think I have ever seen it since its Chessington days. Many of the group yesterday also agreed. Incredible! Would love to have known what setting it was?
-
Great to see the mist still working so well. This ride is seriously ageing well and had a fantastic ride on it last night. I may be hated for this, but do in fact prefer it to the original Nemesis now!
-
It was horrendous at times but we still got on most of what we wanted. By 9pm some of the mazes queues were down to around 20 mins to 40 mins. We queued for both Do or Die and Dead Creek Woods during this time. The rides and maze teams were not too bad at getting through crowds as quick as possible yesterday. What was unacceptable was the up to hour and half security queue (complaints plaguing social media) and the fact that despite leaving at 1020 some of us still sitting in a long, congested car park queue gone 1130pm at night!
-
Rumour has it Thorpe Park knew they were thinking of removing it, were about to contact them to purchase it as a replacement for Rumba for 2019 and then they went and freaking removed it.

TPM Fright Nights Meet Saturday 13th Oct 2018
Mattgwise replied to Mattgwise's topic in TPM 2018 Meets
Was a fantastic day, apart from the up to one and half hour entry AND exit time it took some of us. Thanks to everyone who came. Highlight of the day certainly has to be Vulcan Peak.- 57 replies
