  1. I preferred it in the days they used the midnight syndicate music. For several years every attraction had a different track. It's very generic audio wise now days and reduces the atmosphere greatly IMO. You couldn't beat humpty dumpty on Detonator! I still thoroughly enjoyed platform 15 and, Big Top last season and am still looking forward to FN this year.
  2. Must have been a throughput day (Do they still do those??) Remember back in the day the had those and would play non themed music (chart) to motivate the staff to get through as many people as they could!!
  3. The park will still concentrate on promoting it after the summer is it the way, regardless of whether anything new is announced or not. Why would they advertise FN now whilst trying to concentrate on getting people in during Love Island Lates?
  4. It's still early days and not much mentioned as of yet. It will pick up after summer gets out the way.
  5. Wild mouse cars are being sold on ebay. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wild-Mouse-Car-Mousey-No-2/153119357669?hash=item23a69ffae5%3Ag%3AhR4AAOSwgetbRb60&_nkw=Wild+mouse+car&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p2380057.m4084.l1313.TR6.TRC0.A0.H0.XWild+mo.TRS0 Missed it thoroughly on my first visit since it had gone last weekend. Still so sad to know it will never run again but feel privelaged to have ridden it several times over the years.
  6. Chessington works well with contactless readers on the barrier ticket boxes. This would be a far more efficient way of dealing with the large number who forget to get a ticket.
  7. Again!!!! It hasn't been £7 for that long!
  8. Fantastic write up there! Have to agree with almost everything you have said. I enjoyed the park and Icon so much I'm already eager to return!
  9. I just find it boring now anyway whether it works or not, as you know what to expect. I feel these experience attractions can only be done so many times. I will go on if others in my group want to but I'd be happy just doing it once a year to see if there are any updates or changes.
  10. Of course one of the tabloids pick it up and make the situation to be worse with some false information such as... "other thrill seekers were stuck at the top of Stealth" ?? https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/6871730/thorpe-park-power-cut-leaves-dozens-stranded-on-rides-in-scorching-33c-heat-and-others-in-huge-queues/
  11. Have to second that Marc, was really enjoyable.. Icon is definitely a back row coaster and really does have a lot more airtime than I was expecting, given how slow it looks offride. A fantastic coaster and recommend going to ride it if you haven't done so.
  12. My top ten UK: 1. Icon 2. Wickerman 3. Nemesis Inferno 4. Stealth 5. Oblivion 6. Swarm 7. Nemesis 8. Grand National 9. PMBO 10. GalacticAIR (NON VR)
  13. Cheers, Still silly that it's not just on the ticket selection page! A lot of people will miss this with it being on the event page rather then general ticket page! Also, when they first went on sale they were 4pm to 10pm, then changed to 5pm - 10pm and now are just 6pm to 10pm. Still amazing value regardless.
  14. Does anyone know why the evening only ticket has disappeared from the ticket selection page of the Thorpe Park website?
  15. Admittedly I have a friend who said the same about last weekend but I have not had any major issues on the 6 visits I have made this year. Hopefully it will be sorted soon!
  16. You must have gone on a bad day as my recent visits have been great. Swarm and Stealth regularly dispatching in less than a minute (40 seconds on Swarm in several instances) Nemesis Inferno admittedly has been slow for a couple of seasons now. Really shows how every day can differ.
  17. As much as queuing is a pain, I think I'd get bored pretty quickly if I always had fast track and barely queued.
  18. Hilarious! Also hilarious that it says this... Scott Montague asked why Samurai was running with '20 seats unfilled' and thirty minutes later returned to Twitter to report a break down. A blatant lie considering it isn't allowed to run with less than 15 riders!
  19. There are plenty of parks in the UK that operate with open crossings so don't think that is due to health and safety being more relaxed in Germany.
  20. Correction. The "old and more suited" Colossus theme...
  21. Correction. The "old and more suited" Colossus theme...
  22. Oh dear, how disappointing! Such a shame when the new station/dispatch was so upbeat and tense! This is just like Colossus area, too calm and fantasy like for the ride. Ah well might as well get used to it
  23. Absolutely incredible considering this was the root cause of the fire as well. What a phenomenal company and family!
  24. Ahhh sorry to hear. It was great meeting you and glad you enjoyed it. Keep an eye out for future events and hopefully see you on another later on in the year or next year.
