  1. You'll be fine. My friends accidentally wore his glasses through a ride on Rush and they stayed on his face so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yes they are. I've got to say I much prefer the unique ride experience when the lights are off, but it was great yesterday and very interesting to see the track and ride housing etc.

    Don't forget Rocky Express!
  4. They must have been friendly staff, on most of the T's & C's on the tickets it will say 'Only one voucher per transaction'. Or something along those lines anyway.

Granted, but he's never wake up to meet you. I wish I could teleport.

    Corrupt A Wish

Granted, but one of your original arms doesn't work anyway. I wish I could eat pizza without stopping.
  7. Noticed that today, great little touch.
  8. Went to the park today, had a great day putting everything into consideration. I'll keep the report simple: good points, bad points, queue times from the day and a ride count. Good Points- Being just my second visit to the park this season, it was great to see that the general cleanliness of park had been maintained from the start of the season, and most of the signage / area features were looking clean and fresh. - The vast majority of staff were happy and friendly. - Ride availability was good. Rush was unavailable all day as advertised at the park entrance, and although there were rather a lot of breakdowns of various attractions during the day, all were minor and took a matter of minutes to resolve. - Sound systems park wide seemed to be working fine, and I didn't hear of any missing or broken links which was nice. (Rumba Rapids theme playing in the Nemesis queue last visit wasn't what I was expecting )- Ride staff were working efficiently and dealing well with large visitor numbers in ride queues. - The majority of ride effects were working well. (It was fantastic to see such thick mist with orange atmospheric colour washes in the Nemesis tunnel, which really added to the atmosphere creating a better ride experience). It was also nice to see that these effects have been maintained, and haven't just been lost again. - The chart music playing at the entrance has converted me now. As much as I love the 2009 entrance / bridge theme playing at the start of the day, it is so much more appropriate I feel to have chart music playing, as it does appeal massively to the target audience and really creates a buzzing atmosphere. It also allows guests to dance and really enjoy themselves, which the old themed music didn't really offer. Bad Points- Some staff members were a bit rude and didn't really seem to care about the guests too much. Not a great thing to see. (For example, Colossus was at 90 mins roughly with an almost full queue line for the majority of the day, although at 2pm we queued less than 5 mins). Although it was quite busy, the ride queues weren't too bad, and I would strongly recommend going this week if you can.
  9. I have a bit of an embarrassing problem that I should probably go to the doctors about. I really don't care about talking to the doctor about it, it's just talking to my parents about it first that's the problem. :/ I'm so embarrassed when it comes to things like this. But it's something I've researched well, it seems quite common and there are many quick and simple ways to treat it. I would love to go to the doctors as soon as possible and get it sorted, but every time I go to talk to my parents about it I just can't. I know, it's so stupid! :/Could anyone who has perhaps been in my situation give some advice? Or anyone for that matter
  10. Just sifting through some alton towers archives, I've found what I remember watching as a superb attraction, 'Boneshaker'. I never rode it, but wow it sure does look like a fantastic ride. I'd love to give that a try if it were still here.
  11. Wow those queue times are very surprising!
  12. Hmmmm I hope the queues aren't going to suddenly soar up next week
  13. I hate it when relationships are broken up by one side because of the reason that 'the other person is too clingy'. They're too clingy for a reason, you're perfect and they never want to let you go. Have complete honesty in the relationship. Tell them that you think they're a bit too clingy, and if they love you as much as it may suggest, they'll do what they can to change and make things better for you. Just don't go out with someone and decide to end an otherwise good relationship because of that. It's a stupid reason.
  14. But from recent mid-week trip reports the park seems to have been pretty dead all day long....
  15. This is probably a stupid question, but does Chessington get many school trips this time of year? It's just that I've always read threads about Thorpe Park heaving because of school trips, but never heard the same about Chessington.
  16. That's true, and it's a hard contrast to make. The music needs to be intense and intimidating in order to build up tension for the ride, which it does perfectly in a 10 minute queue. But it's often the case where the queue is looking towards 70+ minutes, by which time the music has turned from building suspense to a meaningless drone in the background. It's a shame different parts of the queue line don't play different loops (different dialogue etc) and create a story as you move through the queue line building up to the ride, which in my view, would be so much more effective.
  17. That's a great price, even though it is unlikely that you would return for a second day. Saying that, I did the season before last and had a great time.

Anyone watch the Isner / Mahut match? Just incredible. For those that haven't, play has been suspended to Day 3 where the same match will continue tomorrow morning. The score is currently 59 games all in the fifth set, and the ace count is in the 90's for both players. So many records have been broken today, it's quite unbelievable.
  19. Well I got this quickly from wikipedia when it popped into my head but I've read it on 2 or 3 other sites as well....Lol, I also think a soundtrack would be great with Rameses.... the ride has great potential to build a lot of suspense whilst queueing, and I think that a soundtrack would really help do this.
  20. Could you provide some average queue times from the day?
  21. Wooooo finally I've got my first visit to Chessington of the year next week! We won't be there for the full opening time but hopefully the queues will still be short next week.
