Park Music
The musc on loggers was playing slightly too fast on Friends and Family day - so much so that my mate was convinced they were cover versions

SAW: Alive
When does the SAW IP end? Will SAW Alive be back in 2013? Doesn't bode well with selected opening, but as has been said, the quality of actors/scares in the maze varied wildly with it being open "24/7"... maybe the area will have a flat ride once "SAW" leaves Thorpe Park?

THE SWARM: In The Media
Just posted the link on Facebook for the official advert to impose it upon my friends, and I reiterrate here what I posted on Facebook - In my eyes, Merlin have not a put a single foot wrong with The SWARM, with LC12 teasers/viral marketing at the start, to Les Coogan and the "Police" on park last year, to the epicness of the ride and area itself, and finally this advert... fantastic. Not cheesy, just classy. Spot on.

The Swarm
Ditto, I feel priveleged to have ridden it 3 times as Merlin Studios intended! Can I just reiterate again just how amazing the whole island is? Yes, I think I can. I just don't fancy being in that queue when it gets big (which they obviously anticipate!) - it took long enough to walk round it empty!

The Swarm
Sam - you made me jump out of my skin when I was in the Church today, I had no idea you had appeared behind me, brilliant. Thought you played the character really well - cowering in the corner, blessing people with your crucfix and such! Really really added to the whole SWARM (NB. Must be in capitals!) experience... fantastic stuff. Loved the army dude in the photo above below Les too, he shouted at me for "wearing the colours, but not willing to fight!" as I had a greenish coat on. Brilliant. To echo everything that's been said - The SWARM is bloody fantastic. It doesn't rip your face off as has been said, which is fine by me - it's SO smooth and my personal highlight is the swoop around the helicopter, it's just sublime! I noticed the LCXII above the toilets straight away haha, and it's little touches like that, that make all the difference. Seriously impressed with the SWARM audio around the park interrupting WWTP radio. The news reports/audio on the TVs in the queue isn't cheesy at all, very very professional and slick - which really sums up the whole area and ride experience. Absolute top banana!! And meh, it broke down, but it was fixed in 15 minutes. Apparently that's the first time it has broken down too, so I think that's a case of sods law! ^_^I can only imagine how big the queues will get on a normal day! That cattle pen queue line is quite a walk when none of the shortcut gates are open - but you don't mind when you get to the front and it's walk on! Must also reiterate how good the ride ops were at loading!PS. My girlfriend wanted to give Les Coogan a hug because she felt sorry for him!PPS. is it widely known that LC12 = Long Coaster 2012 now?

Fright Nights
I'm going tomorrow too... Realistically I can't see it being much busier tomorrow... May get busier after 5 though once people are back from school and perhaps come to FN for the evening.

Thanks for that... Stealth does like to misbehave when Fright Nights are due to start...

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
To stop any worries, construction on site is near enough on schedule - and the current hot weather (and forecast going forward) is going to help immensely to get up-to-speed (after poor weather earlier on in the year).Still some footers to be poured/placed as stated, but that doesn't mean that site won't be able to start installing track where they are in place
-
Stealth
Joking aside () anyone know what's up with it? I'm off to Fright Nights on Friday 7th... Thorpe Park without Stealth is just wrong I would hope it gets sorted within a week...

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
There's not a heck of alot more reinforcing steel to go in - about 75% of it is already on site! All being well - what with the weather - it should be complete by the end of September.
-
THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I work for a nearby reinforcement steel company - there aren't many of those about so you can probably work it out :blink:If anyone is vaguely interested, a lof of the steel left to produce will be delivered "made up" in to cages that can simply be dropped into place, instead of being supplied in loose bars that they then tie into cages on site... saves time!

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I'd be pleasantly surprised if this was the case...
-
THE SWARM: Construction Updates
That was probably one of our lorries on site today with more reinforcing steel :blink:Sunken Gardens being closed off is purely for marketing purposes at the moment judging by the plans, a fake entrance if you will - maybe they'll change their minds though and have two access routes to the island?

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I reckon the "highlight" on the R is actually rifle crosshairs, I wouldn't read too much into it.Love the shot of the park at 4 seconds!!

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Thanks for all these amazing reports peeps - makes good reading! Some fantastic photos too!!I think my favourite quote was "Coming in 2012 - Fastrack for Fastrack" - don't tempt them! That mini Amity Water tower is v. cute haha

Queue Jumpers!
Queue jumpers ruin or at least taint peoples day out - so I don't think you over-reacted or did the wrong thing.

Good to hear the smoke is back! Still haven't been to Thorpe this year, think I'll hold on until the Fright Nights or the Not-Fright-Nights in October!

Is it safe to say Thorpe are having a pretty good year for reliability?
