  1. I'm going tomorrow too... Realistically I can't see it being much busier tomorrow... May get busier after 5 though once people are back from school and perhaps come to FN for the evening.

    Slammer

What's the deal with Slammer at the moment? It's reliability has to be the worst in the park this year.
  3. Thanks for that... Stealth does like to misbehave when Fright Nights are due to start...
  4. To stop any worries, construction on site is near enough on schedule - and the current hot weather (and forecast going forward) is going to help immensely to get up-to-speed (after poor weather earlier on in the year).Still some footers to be poured/placed as stated, but that doesn't mean that site won't be able to start installing track where they are in place
  5. Joking aside () anyone know what's up with it? I'm off to Fright Nights on Friday 7th... Thorpe Park without Stealth is just wrong I would hope it gets sorted within a week...
  6. There's not a heck of alot more reinforcing steel to go in - about 75% of it is already on site! All being well - what with the weather - it should be complete by the end of September.
  7. I work for a nearby reinforcement steel company - there aren't many of those about so you can probably work it out :blink:If anyone is vaguely interested, a lof of the steel left to produce will be delivered "made up" in to cages that can simply be dropped into place, instead of being supplied in loose bars that they then tie into cages on site... saves time!
  8. I'd be pleasantly surprised if this was the case...
  9. That was probably one of our lorries on site today with more reinforcing steel :blink:Sunken Gardens being closed off is purely for marketing purposes at the moment judging by the plans, a fake entrance if you will - maybe they'll change their minds though and have two access routes to the island?
  10. I reckon the "highlight" on the R is actually rifle crosshairs, I wouldn't read too much into it.Love the shot of the park at 4 seconds!!
  11. Thanks for all these amazing reports peeps - makes good reading! Some fantastic photos too!!I think my favourite quote was "Coming in 2012 - Fastrack for Fastrack" - don't tempt them! That mini Amity Water tower is v. cute haha
  12. I work for a steel reinforcement company in Chertsey :-) my FB is facebook.com/mathewwood ...I do like my job, speak to quite a mix of people :-)

  13. Queue jumpers ruin or at least taint peoples day out - so I don't think you over-reacted or did the wrong thing.
  14. Lol, glad to hear it! It does fascinate me having drawings etc for it at work :D And as I'm such a Thorpe fan, I do like being "part of it" - even in a small way lol. You on FB? :D

  15. Is it lame that I'm excited to be involved with supplying *foundation* steel for LC12? haha. Such a fan boy!!

  16. Rumour has it Thorpe Park is still standing... for now.
  17. I'm now a "member" again anyway :)Thanks for fixing the chat settings!
  18. Good to hear the smoke is back! Still haven't been to Thorpe this year, think I'll hold on until the Fright Nights or the Not-Fright-Nights in October!
  19. Is it safe to say Thorpe are having a pretty good year for reliability?
  20. "[#CHAT-02] You do not have access to our chat room. "How comes? Is it because I'm somehow in the member group "Gone Away"?!
  21. Welcome along Louise! :)There won't be a heck of a lot more to see just yet... as I say, more concrete going in over the next few weeks as more steel reinforcement goes in for the station - the whole job has about 200 tonnes of reinforcing steel, which is a lot more than SAW had.Site have some reinforcing mesh on site for various slabs, that's what you may well have seen (the "netting") - sheets about 2 x 4m, with square holes.
  22. Indeed, concrete footers don't arrive... they are poured on site! Those two drills are piling rigs - site were waiting on those to arrive :)Lots more reinforcing steel to come on site over the next month - so you'll start seeing more concrete appearing.
  23. I think this sums it up perfectly - such a contrast between it's neighbour Colossus, and it just literally looks like it's been plonked down in the park, and left wherever it landed. That path/tarmacing looks absolutely awful, I only hope it's going to get sorted this week. In the grand scheme of things construction wise, that costs peanuts - but it's a finishing touch that makes such a difference. That obvious leak in the video is a touch worrying already
  24. Oooops! Sorry sorry sorry! (It is so good though!)
  25. Ooops, sorry! I assumed it'd be in the "past" section if it had been posted
