At first I thought Towers had made it themselves, not so sure now though. People are claiming to have made it on towers street. http://www.towersstreet.com/talk/planning-portal/secret-weapon-7-discussion-continued/msg40818/#msg40818

Just found this rather disturbing accident, it happened in July but doesn't appear to have been mentioned on here. Basically it looks like the ride car wasn't attached to the arm correctly. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/9437945/Teenagers-hospitalised-after-fairground-ride-crash.html#

If a ride is ready to re-open and there are no staff there then downtime is increased. Increased downtime = unhappy guests which leads to lower attendance and profits. If anything it would look worse if there were no staff there as it would appear that there is no chance of the ride opening again.

They are Bose bass cannons if my memory is correct. I don't think they are used any more but were/are used for creating the large amounts of bass from the Nemesis Inferno theme music in the the station building.

I'll second that, Abraham Lincoln was really good. Also being a bit of a glam rock fan I really enjoyed seeing Rock of Ages and will be seeing it again this week. I recommend Abraham Lincoln to pretty much everyone and Rock of ages to those who like musicals and a feel good film

Yeah, that's the one If you go to 0:44 of the video Luke_A posted you can see that the car isn't rotating at all whereas the other one is, this happened on and off all night. I'm not so worried about the creaking to be honest, I was just mentioning it in case it raised any other points. Just seemed a little weird to me and a tad dodgy And yeah, being upside down for that long left me pretty light headed and gave my friend some lovely red spots all over her eyelids and around the top of her nose which still haven't disappeared

There was a lot of rattling coming from our side of the arm which I haven't noticed on any other KMG Speed that I've ridden so that could be to do with the bearings. I was quite concerned about how there was no quicker way of getting us down as the ride ops seemed to be rushing about but were unable to help us until other riders were available. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up a bit for me.

Not really sure where I should put this so I figured I couldn't go wrong by posting here I went to a local travelling funfair in Ipswich yesterday (which claims to be the largest travelling fair in Europe but obviously wasn't) and rode the KMG Speed ride that they had there. I've rode a few of these so I was a bit surprised when our gondola/car didn't rotate freely on the end of the arm and refused to move. This caused us to be dangling upside-down at the top of the ride waiting for new riders to get onto the other gondola. We were there for a good 7-8 minutes before the ride started and the ride ops seemed to be rushing to get people to get onto the ride so that it could go through its program and that we could be released. I was just wondering if anyone would know what might cause this problem and why they had to load the bottom arm to get us down cos I'm pretty sure it isn't safe to keep anyone upside down for much longer than that.

I hate to think of how bad the throughput will be on that though :/

Personally I don't think this looks very good, it may just be a case of that I need to ride it to appreciate it though. I guess I was expecting more from it.

Just got back from a a couple of days at Alton Towers with my two sisters and mum, report may contain spoilers. I arrived at the Towers Hotel at about 4 on Tuesday to be greeted by very helpful hotel staff. Because it takes ages to get to the towers from where I live we decided to stay a night before we went to the park itself. Day 1 - After breakfast we arrived at the monorail at 8:30 to catch the first monorail towards the park entrance, which we got on. Unfortunately the monorail wasn't up to taking us all the way to the park entrance and decided that it would like to stop midway through the journey right outside Nemesis. After about 15 minutes of a technician trying to fix the problem we got evacuated car by car from the monorail and were told to walk along the metal mesh between the two tracks back towards the hotel. Once down the stairs where the two tracks split again we were greeted by some park staff with forms for us to fill out about our evacuation and then some fastpasses to be used for the inconvenience and us almost missing all of our ERT. After walking to the entrance we rushed straight to Nemesis which I managed to get a couple of rides on using our ERT and a parent pass. The rest of the day was fairly family orientated although I made sure I got a ride on Sub-Terra with my mum which I found to be really good fun, my mum was terrified as she was unaware about what was going to happen within the ride. I was unaware of the effects in the ending lifts which break down and become engulfed by the nemesis creature at the end which also seemed to scare most people that were there. The Phalanx control team were very in character, especially one of the actors who sorted us out in the pre-show before the first lift. He singled one guy out for "sounding like a woman" and made him stand in the corner and then proceeded to shout "right you motherfuuuh athers, sons and daughters" and after explaining that ranks 1&4 should enter the lifts first followed by ranks 2&3 "right you rankers" was shouted at us. Something else that I noticed was that SW7 signs are now up along the construction walls in the X-sector, this may have been posted somewhere else but I havn't had a chance to look through the forums properly yet, not been home long. Day 2 - Monorail worked, got into the park and headed straight for Oblivion for ERT as its my sisters favourite, it was being advertised as open but turned out to be closed and remained closed for a large part of the day and opened at something like 3 O'clock. Nemesis Sub-Terra was also down for most of the day, but eventually opened at about 4 O'Clock. Not sure what was wrong with Oblivion or Sub-Terra, will be checking the forums after I've finished writing this. Anyway, ERT consisted of Rita followed by a walk on Nemesis and a ride on Air at 10 O'Clock when the park opened. Ridecounts for both days below, not as high as I would have liked but we ran into our fair share of problems. Nemesis - 4 Sub-Terra - 4 Air - 2 Thirteen - 3 Hex - 1 Duel - 1 Runaway Mine Train - 2 Congo River Rapids - 2 The Flume - 1 Sonic Spinball - 2 Ice Age 4D - 1 Charlie - 2 Oblivion - 2 Rita - 2 Thanks for reading it all

I'll be on park when this is supposedly happening so I'll keep an eye out and get some photos if its true.

I just saw it on Comedy Central, finally I feel that it isn't actually that long until the open season.
-
The new Deadmau5 DVD arrived today, think I might be in heaven
-
Saw the Woman in Black today but there was no advert either, I'm quite disappointed with my trip to the cinema now
-
Yeah its fixed, looks so much nicer than before.

ManiaHub looks all nice and blue before I log in but once I have I get the old Mania Hub layout but in a really dodgy form, is this the same for everyone else or not. By the way I have tried loading the site on chrome, safari, firefox and even the dreaded IE but all of them produce the same thing.

Agreeing with Benin here, most of the coaster sims contain almost the exact same process which I find to become quite boring after a while of playing. I find the harder sims more fun to play regardless of the ride, if there is more to do, and by more I mean several previews (possibly several separate rides e.g. Tower of Terrors 3 lift shafts) as well as the actual ride operation I have to force myself to pay more attention to the game.I, for one, am quite interested in Sub Terra and am eagerly anticipating experiencing it for myself regardless of the fact that some people are under the impression that it is just a glorified frog hopper, which to some extent it is. The mystery of what may happen within Sub Terra is what is making me curious and excited about it, not the fact that the physical ride is nothing more than a small drop in the dark.
-
I think Sub-Terra would provide more enjoyment due to its possible complexity compared to the simplicity of dispatching The Swarm.

Funnily enough I too saw Skrillex last night at UEA Norwich which was amazing, Alvin Risk is one of the best warm up acts I've seen, he really got the crowd going.A guy called Dr. Drew performed a DJ set just before Alvin came on, he was quite good, hilarious to watch, but still made my night one of the best that I've had.

Then you'll be very pleased to know that their site is back up and running then

Neither do I, its probably just someone impersonating them. Still its a bit odd for them to be hacked at all.

It looks as if anonymous have taken down ThemeParkReview.com, the site is currently unavailable and earlier the main stories on its home page all read "We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us."I should have really taken a screen shot before it went down but completely forgot.Have a look for your selves http://www.themeparkreview.com/

Me and two of my best mates have Cineworld unlimited cards and so go to see pretty much everything (apart from the kids films because I can't stand them). So today me and one of my friends totted along to the cinema and saw the new Mission Impossible film Ghost Protocol which was surprisingly funny thanks to Simon Pegg. I don't want to give away too much about the film but there is quite a twist during the middle of the film and another one near the end. The action scenes were well done but sometimes felt a little too short and a bit rushed (some slow-mo like in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows would have been appreciated at points). Overall I really enjoyed the film even if the ending was a little tacky, but that's to be expected.8/10
