Probably have to wait till tomorrow for that knowledge... Its annoying given how much is riding on it not having OTSRs, but from the brief glimpses it looks like we'll have Mack style ones... So yay...
-
I doubt an SFC and Jr Boomerang would cost more than £3-4m... Its classic Vekoma though, cheap rides meaning more to spend tarting it up... Got to remember that Cobra and Edge were built before the park had much money... They will probably continue their form of improving existing areas though assuming Lost Kingdom is a success... Which it should be...
-
Dynamic Attractions if involved probably would have only done a minor part of the attraction, there's another company who've done the main showpiece (and most can probably guess who it is, since they've done major work for Merlin before)...
-
Like anyone will call it that anyways... Ferrari Land only having about 3 rides is crap though, must be said...
-
Advert filming obviously... So much green screen, that'll be coming out the £40 eh?

Imagine what you lot would be like at Disney if this is the reaction to some pin badges...

Paultons says hi: Think it's acceptable for people to moan that the theming just isn't all encompassing, especially given the location of the building in the middle of the park... Yeah most dark rides have bad viewpoints (even Potter), but usually only in one or two spots rather than half of it... Like I said, it's very Thirteen...

I wondered how long it'd take till someone noticed the big red shed poking out... It's what makes the difference between a good and great attraction at the end of the day... Attention to detail... Having a red shed poking out behind a nice looking facade can ruin the general look... Think about how bad Thirteen looks because only half the tin shed is hidden as a closer example... It's that sort of decision that makes Merlin's work that shoddy...

Nice to see this place still retains it's playground qualities... Personally I'd knock everyone's head together until some sense is knocked in... Stop being bloody childish...
-
Just to refer back to Josh about comparing to filler, Merlin's track record with multi million investments have also suffered from poor effect maintenance and the like... It's no wonder that there's a nagging feeling in the back of most people's head...

Phantasialand are starting to reveal the train for Taron:

You mean like ALL the queues at FN?

The rules for painting steel (especially treated steel) are different though...

I wish people would make their mind up how much this is costing... So far any negativity around the ride has been rather founded I'd say... After all how many actor heavy attractions can we really term a success in Merlin times? And how many dark rides? To me, this sounds like a bigger version of Ghost in terms of multiple experiences and the like... But is adding actors going to end well? Will it affect other things on park? Can Merlin do anything not involving a disused/abandoned/destroyed theme? Will guests be annoyed if they have to queue for the simulator portion inside? There are a lot of questions over the feasibility of such a ride, especially with Merlin's history of upkeep and the like... That's not moaning, that's an actual fact filled worry... Don't see anyone really defending the concerns against Galatica and the vr issues... The building does look nice, maybe someone took inspiration from Baron's look (or general stations)... Probably the best level of theming they've done...

5 experiences in one? The ULTIMATE Ghost Train? Using the Ghost Train name is interesting, since the general view of those would be cheap fun fair attractions... I wonder when we all needed things to be spelt out for us to know what it is... Dread to think what we're counting as the 5 experiences... Vr? Simulator? Mirror maze? Actors? Sfx? If we're still getting a real announcement I hope they'll actually say what's within hardware wise...

Think there might be some self reflection when this opens...
-
Ironically they pick the one ride to repaint which looks good all run down and rusted... Blatently cos of Air being tarted up a la Oblivion with Smiler... They best actually do the station though, that's the worst part...
-
I wish I could be around for the storm on Monday, but open plan office now prevents me from doing so... I hope they're going to announce exactly what the attraction comprises of... Not just a name and theme... I don't think this place can handle much more speculation...

Alpina Blitz is better in a lot of ways (primarily the restraints)... Can't we be underwhelmed by Derren Brown first?
-
Isn't Toy Story Land expansion going in there?
-
I like how the budget for Thorpe has suddenly raised £10m all of a sudden... £30m for ages, then suddenly £40m... It's interesting on a comparison that we know all the important stats for a ride opening a year later... Including ride type... Shows how dull secrecy can be...
-
I highly doubt Efteling have to worry about giving Mr Brown money and spend half of it on marketing costs though... Project total cost is what Merlin give us, NOT the cost of the ride equipment...
-
Question, why would an adult want to ride a kids coaster more than once for the cred? Just curious...
-
I don't think that this alone will get Towers back to what it was prior to Smiler's crash, especially given the ride closures and what not... They need a whole lot more than goggles to get the public back on their side...
