  1. Forbidden Journey also cost a darn sight more than £30m... Let alone the fact that it was done by Kuka... Granted apparently Simworx do have a robo-arm thing on a track too, but has another park actually built one? Do we really want another prototype ride with Thorpe's reliability? It'll probably be an experience type ride which in Merlin speak is 2/3 different ride types glued together...
  2. Even better news, Scenic will be opening this weekend on the 16th (according to the email I got this morning)!
  3. Problem is in these situations is what can the 'normal' staff member do? They're not trained to deal with guests of certain natures, and usually the only solution is to call TLs or Security so they can deal with it instead... Having discussions with aggressive/demanding/idiotic guests can ruin a night completely for the staff member, especially as you can't really trust the clientele at Thorpe not to do something outrageously stupid... The other year weren't there a few security blokes stood around each maze? From an external company if I recall too, that's probably the solution...
  4. People do buy any old ride related merch though, especially if they can show it off within their enthusiast circles... *looks proudly at my Baron 1898 soap bar*
  5. Runnymede's influence stretches far indeed...
  6. Saying that B&M Stand-Ups are the smoothest isn't saying much about them, rides like Vortex or the formerly titled Iron Wolf are regarded as bloody dreadful... It's a position thing, that can't really be solved by restraint methods... Their future what with Mantis' refurb seem very much in doubt...
  7. Is it really a surprise Big Top isnt great when they only just barely got it open for the preview night and the actors have had barely any preparation time? Everything else (reliability, Fastrack), is just classic Thorpe...
  8. Well now it's just not worth going then is it?

    The Flume

I assuming the third closed ride is Sub Terra? Yeah, that's closed for actual reasons, rather than just being broken... 3 closed rides is Jamie's limit then, poor Thorpe...
  10. An SLC and a cure for insomnia masquerading as a hypercoaster isn't a great start to a ride lineup... For sheer volume of rides, perhaps its the best in the UK, but quality over quantity is what I say...
  11. This isn't a SFX coaster, the size of the track alone makes the building too small...
  12. The way some people are reacting to unwanted metal being on a scrapheap you'd think the ride was going for good... Hell they probably got decent money for what's being chucked, more than an auction might produce for certain...
  13. I've now ridden Baron, and hence all the European B&Ms... Y'all just basic to me now...
  14. Shame they'll be another £10/£15 on top per person...
  15. Usually those errors crop up because you haven't extracted the folder correctly and the game cannot read the files properly... Need to double check that the RandomThings folder isn't hiding in the RCT3/SCENERY/THEME directory via another folder, because the game cannot read it like that...
  16. Because the two As can be ignored because they're capitalised correctly... Even then, it means nothing... Just another puzzle piece that doesn't fit the jigsaw to keep the enthusiasts wanting...

    The Smiler

As mentioned, the HSE report will take a rather long time to be completed, if any company had to wait that long before they could do any work, there would be a lot of empty factories across the country... Whether it will actually be open today, is still anyone's guess...
  18. The irony of you calling anyone else basic is amazing... But I bet you'll be bragging how you're 'trolling' another forum on your Youtube channel over something that is quite stupid really...
  19. *looks at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory*
  20. I barely remember it tbh, which is usually a bad sign (arguably worse than remembering a ride for being dreadful)... The one at Great America was really dreadful though, mainly cos the ride ops locked the seating way too early, but that's a flaw with the stand-up design really... And Mantis was quite bad as well (hence why they've converted it since)... I'm currently listing my B&Ms and it's actually really difficult because the mid-card is still really strong... Is Medusa better than Kraken? Is Diamondback better than Silver Star? So many questions!
  21. Imagine what some people would've thought about 2005-2009... *shudders*
  22. Do I see someone bragging about their coaster count when they've only done their first wooden and foreign coasters this year? Also, B&M standups are dreadful, like, really awful...
  23. To be fair, the highest dispatch speed hasn't been used since it first opened and ran 8 cars...
  24. I might have to do a list of European B&Ms after I ride Baron next week and I (once again) complete the set... #everyoneelseisjustbasictome
  25. To be fair, the lake where the (not-so) Splash Battle sits is pretty much sitting on several houses...
