Next Big Thing - 2016 Development ?
Let's not forget that a lot of Swarm's cost is the land claiming that was required to actually build it... Comparing costs with American rides is also tricky, since they have a manufacturing plant over there, and even with the one in Europe, UK parks still have to pay for shipping... Would a hyper garner international attention? It's arguable, as a lot of Americans didn't agree with Shambhala appearing in the Mitch Hawker poll so highly as it did, and whilst the Intamin rides are highly rated by several, they're not THAT good... They are very hit and miss rides and certainly won't fulfil the desire for a new intense coaster that Swarm didn't acheive... Besides, if they really want airtime in a tight compact layout, all they need is Piraten... So it doesn't even need to breach the ceiling of the park... However personal preference would go towards a B&M hyper, but consider a Mega-Lite has 1.2m restriction, then it's a clear choice tbh...

Next Big Thing - 2016 Development ?
Probably why all of a sudden Thorpe have completely changed tact with how they treat the park AND how they treat guests... The park's own image is just as important as to how a new ride is promoted... And Thorpe's image until this year has been pretty crap...

Clearly Heide are trying to get this open for Halloween...

Alton Towers General Discussion
In a complete change to the usual trend of Towers based operating times, they've actually EXTENDED their ride close to 7 for the weekend... *dies of shock*

Six Flags Great America
He said it was just two coasters stuck together to get a record and that they could've easily put in a launched second lift instead because the vertical lift would completely ruin the pacing of the ride... Surprising what happens when people actually ride coasters and can formulate their own opinions... Not that of course you're allowed them on that site...

They didn't say... Probably be the same as the limited time whichever other one went backwards for... Was only a couple of months...- Six Flags Magic Mountain
Next year Batman and Colossus are going backwards (for limited time again, random) and an expansion of the kid's area including a new coaster...- Six Flags Great America
Full POV... That random upside down bit looks awful to ride... WHY?- Six Flags Great Adventure
Six Flags do like announcing everything at once don't they? Following on from Magic Mountain's Lex Luthor, and the trend of ugly American rides comes Zumajaro: Drop of Doom!- Opening Times
Rides still close at 9pm though?- Six Flags Great America
RMC keeps on trucking along... This layout seems exceptionally messed up...- Random Picture Thread.
- Fright Night v's Scarefest Pricing
I don't think there should be any limits on Annual Passes whatsoever, already paid one price for the year, why should someone who only got a Standard not be able to go to certain places whenever they want to? Indeed, the only reason I have a Premium is so I can visit the Midway attractions during August... Not exactly fair though is it? It's simple to check wristbands on people if they don't have 'access' to the mazes... Most mazes last year had 4 members of staff at each entrance, why can't they check? Not exactly a painful procedure, especially as it's simple to show off a wristband to someone... Both methods have their own pros and cons as I said at the start of the topic, but as I'm only interested in night riding things, not having to pay extra to get in as an excuse for the extra charge is the better option for myself... The charge is for the maze staffing, not for the extra hours... Otherwise every park in the world who did this type of Halloween event (I.e. NOT a completely separate ticketed event) would charge people the extra money... Hell even Chessie don't charge extra (then again, it's only 2 hours and all their stuff is free)...- Fright Night v's Scarefest Pricing
Other parks offer extended opening hours without you having to pay extra to enter...- Heide Park

It's daft to compare costs involved because of the countless variants between the two rides and their own individual remits behind their building (as in WHY were they built?)...- Bubbleworks
Bubbleworks has never really fitted, but the original fizzy pop factory theme worked because it had enough sense to semi fit into it with the use of Prof Burp looking like an atypical mad scientist and the Bubbleheads being his minions... It was a weird theme done up because an actual beer brewery was not a suitable theme for a family park... It also had the benefit of being a whimsical British dark ride, which automatically made it immune from theming clash arguements...- Heide Park
Pretzel loop is done, interesting near miss in the foreground...- Next Big Thing - 2016 Development ?
It's not Thorpe's fault directly that they're impatient at instant returns and gratification... Something that can be put at the foot of ALL companies atm...- 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter'
CHOO CHOO!- Next Big Thing - 2016 Development ?
Is Swarm the reason for a better second year? Or because the park has improved dramatically? People are actually in the country this summer? There's a lot of reasons why this year is better than last...- Next Big Thing - 2016 Development ?
All well and good us saying that, but we're not the ones spending millions on a potential marketing flop... Thorpe won't want another Swarm...- The Smiler
