  1. It doesn't exactly take long for them to create mazes, just looking at the way the Americans do it, putting up a few cheap walls and then theming them is a few weeks work... The preview night is actually tempting tbh... At least, for the rides...

It's like Lightwater, the place is so inoffensive it's hard not to like it... It's nothing spectacular, but it does the job and has a lovely atmosphere... Their plans for a new entrance next year should help it even more...

Well that's a surprise when they had to put in mass amounts of concrete into the area because the earth survey people goofed up originally... As we all know, concrete is a natural drainage solution... I swear half of the issues with Smiler have been as a result of the surveyors getting it wrong...

I didn't personally find it excessively rough back at the start of August mind, but I did realise the whole shock that it's not even been half a year... Whether or not it's up to the same levels of Saw, I cannot say yet... Saw was bearly rideable for me in it's first season, so it's all going into personal opinions here... Then again, with the heavy amount of work the cars have to go through on a daily basis, it can't be that big a surprise that they're wearing down a lot faster compared to other rides... Hell, it probably does a lot more work than Nemmie does... But that can't be compared since B&M actually think through their designs... It's a weird one how the two Merlin Gerstlauers are quite bad for roughness, as even Mystery Mine with it's set-square corners isn't awful...

A ride getting rougher as it gets older? SAY IT ISN'T SO! Wouldn't be surprised if the original one or two jolts around the Cobra Roll exit/Inverting drops are the cause of this... Be interesting to see how rough it's gotten...
  6. There is a shuttle service from El Prat Barcelona through the PA website... Park can probs be done in 2 days including shows and what-not... Dunno on the hotel front, the Western one has been highly rated for the theming (IN THE TOILET!), but aside from that I have no idea... Be adventurous...
  7. What would be the point in having Lionsgate turn up and then have a non IP based maze?
  8. Benin replied to th13teen's topic in UK Attractions
If it means having to look at that lovely concept art then I approve

That's ALWAYS happening on Tomb... Like, at least once a year... Or stuck halfway down it... God this park needs some serious investment and care...
  10. *Height doesn't make a coaster better quote*
  11. Actually, the Inferno pathway makes a lot of sense from a logistical standpoint, as they can use the shop as the finale cabin, whilst not having to worry about people tripping over lots of train tracks... Though there is the obvious issue of people leaving Inferno being able to see the maze... So that's something to consider against it... And one would hope they're going to at least cover the Experiment 10 logo... Or at least make it look like a connection of tunnels... Doubting it though...
  12. I can see why they changed it back, that new voice was absolute CRINGE... The old voice also sounds like Vincent Price to me... Dunno if that's right though... He was involved with Phantom Manor so he might have done other work for Disney parks...
  13. They posted a picture of a B&M and as like when they've posted pictures of random rides before there's no point looking into it much... That's my view on it...
  14. It's not like they have over a month to construct things inside buildings which cannot usually be seen from the normal guest perspectives available from the pathways... PANIC!
  15. Paying a £5 fee for riding in the dark is good value compared to being free at other parks?

More like they're expanding the hotel... Because you know, why improve the park?
  17. It is the 21st century... Take your out-dated views elsewhere!
  18. It's back this weekend for all those pondering attending... http://thorpepark.com/prices/reserve-and-ride.aspx?utm_source=Website&utm_medium=FB&utm_campaign=RnR Although the fact that Thorpe used the term "old skool" on their page makes me want to hit my head against the wall moreso...

List of open rides are: Atlantis Submarine Voyage Laser Raiders Orient Train Aero Nomad Thunder Blazer Desert Chase Scarab Bouncers Hill Train Star Wars™ Miniland Experience X Box Gaming Zone That's a big old meh... I remember riding Pirate Falls in winter several years ago...

Was it really? But was it more of a "Old McDonald's Farm, brought to you by Safeway", or Safeway logos everywhere and signs telling you why you should use them for your weekly shop?
  21. At least the animals have found something to do in those busy days... Some PR relating to the annual baby boom Chessie always seems to have...

Plans online... http://publicaccess.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?keyval=MRVOO7PGA8000&searchtype=PROPERTY&module=P3 Not exactly clear if it's getting the rumoured IP brand attached or just getting a massive refurb, but the big thing is the removal of the Tent and a new Marquee in place... Couple more bits of theming added as well to the existing rides, but nothing actually new ride wise being added... Still looking at the plans though... EDIT - Further reading Things to be removed are the Tent and Dung Heap, to be replaced by a new ents stage and assorted play equipment... Defenite IP to be added, but not mentioned to protect the contract... Lots of characters to be added judging by the plans... New toilets which is probably the biggest news of the plan
  23. It's been a while since I've done a B&M variant but I think the only major difference in the restraints is that the OTSRs aren't split up... Still have the burdenous bicycle seat of burden, and unless they can get rid of that, then it'll still be uncomfortable (though nothing will be as bad as Apocalypse and the brakes of genital death)... I don't think Thorpe getting one would affect Drayton's attendance, since they've gone full on towards the family and have the draw of Thomas Land... The two of them both really more focus on the local people rather than nationwide, even if both have recently expanded their 'resort' status... There are just better options that have received high levels of praise across the board from various different manufacturers over a Stand-Up... It bemused me that Towers were looking at one for Katanga Canyon at one point recently, but I guess because of the Varney's obsessive nature towards the GIMMICK of a coaster it's too be expected...

It's popular because everyone loves Lego... That's it really...
