  1. Whilst I wasn't saying that staff should be powering through every hour, they shouldn't be praised for batching groups into gates and the like when that should be done anyway... Filling up trains is part of the job description, my point has nothing to do with pushing throughputs...
  2. The idea of "Edir Eht - WAS" horrifies me beyond compare... The idea of actors does not factor logically into not have stupidly long queues... I thought the park were meant to be reducing queues?
  3. They're only doing that for one hour a day? I would be expecting a park to do that as the minimum method of operation... For the entire day, every day...

So NOT really an 8/10 then?
  5. Was the batcher not batching again? (Something that happened on my parents visit yesterday)
  6. And that's even after I attended I too would like to hear more about what rides were done and the situation... Someone else mentioned Swarm had downtime and that was it aside from Tidal Wave... But really, for the 2/3 hours, how could you not fulfil £5 worth of rides when according to many others, the majority were a one train wait? The 4 out of 8 booths is a problem to be fair... Though it's probably the only night they've needed THAT many...
  7. Animal attractions I can let off being closed at times because of the fickle nature of animals being unpredictable... Of course, it might have been closed because it closes every day for lunch...
  8. Attributing the fall in attendance to just the Swarm not being marketing correctly is quite frankly, daft... Not like there was a massive event in London that was resulting in a lot of people fleeing the country and generally not going touristy things... Or that the park had a reputation for being not that great... Or that most parks suffered a decline in attendance...
  9. To be fair, too many people for Chessie is about 7'000 people...
  10. If Liseberg can have Kanonen and Helix then there is no reason why Thorpe (or any park) cannot do the same... With this reasoning, no-one can suggest an Intamin Blitz because it also has a launch... If anything, a Mack Mega would make Colossus (rather than Stealth) pointless, because it'd be simply better in every way and Stealth can still rely on the height being the draw... Considering a Mack can appeal to a wider audience with a lower height restriction as well, which fits straight into the family thrill route the park are taking, it'd be a fab idea...
  11. Hurakan Condor is like, 300ft isn't it? Apocalypse is just under 200ft... Be pointless though, why get rid of a good drop tower for a gimmick? Especially considering the lack of space for Stealth to have sommat like Ka's would result in a lower throughput than Det...
  12. 1 hour for Seastorm? I'd go home... Or the zoo... At least the zoo is ok... Aside from not upgrading the bloody Monkey Garden t'other year... And what are they planning on doing? Expanding the hotel... Urgh, so much WRONG at that park these days...
  13. Let's not forget that a lot of Swarm's cost is the land claiming that was required to actually build it... Comparing costs with American rides is also tricky, since they have a manufacturing plant over there, and even with the one in Europe, UK parks still have to pay for shipping... Would a hyper garner international attention? It's arguable, as a lot of Americans didn't agree with Shambhala appearing in the Mitch Hawker poll so highly as it did, and whilst the Intamin rides are highly rated by several, they're not THAT good... They are very hit and miss rides and certainly won't fulfil the desire for a new intense coaster that Swarm didn't acheive... Besides, if they really want airtime in a tight compact layout, all they need is Piraten... So it doesn't even need to breach the ceiling of the park... However personal preference would go towards a B&M hyper, but consider a Mega-Lite has 1.2m restriction, then it's a clear choice tbh...
  14. Probably why all of a sudden Thorpe have completely changed tact with how they treat the park AND how they treat guests... The park's own image is just as important as to how a new ride is promoted... And Thorpe's image until this year has been pretty crap...
  15. Clearly Heide are trying to get this open for Halloween...
  16. In a complete change to the usual trend of Towers based operating times, they've actually EXTENDED their ride close to 7 for the weekend... *dies of shock*
  17. He said it was just two coasters stuck together to get a record and that they could've easily put in a launched second lift instead because the vertical lift would completely ruin the pacing of the ride... Surprising what happens when people actually ride coasters and can formulate their own opinions... Not that of course you're allowed them on that site...
  18. They didn't say... Probably be the same as the limited time whichever other one went backwards for... Was only a couple of months...
  19. Next year Batman and Colossus are going backwards (for limited time again, random) and an expansion of the kid's area including a new coaster...
  20. Full POV... That random upside down bit looks awful to ride... WHY?
  21. Six Flags do like announcing everything at once don't they? Following on from Magic Mountain's Lex Luthor, and the trend of ugly American rides comes Zumajaro: Drop of Doom!
