Banned for having a stadium full of plastics...

I went today, arriving at 9 to take FULL advantage of this opening 30 minutes beforehand... If only they had two trains on everything from that point really... Especially on Swarm... Not that I went to Swarm, nope, I went straight to Stealth due to my uni project needing data, and arrived as the first two people in the queue straight onto the front row... Attendants began to wait for more but the Op wanted to get going, so only two people on it... Second ride that's happened to me recently, tis good... Honestly, Stealth is actually quite good, I forgot this really... I still prefer Swarm and Inferno, but that's because they have some substance about them, rather than just end as quickly as they start (although some would probably disagree)... After a second go and data collected, we walked straight onto Inferno, which was running well too... Then we wandered over to Saw... As I mentioned in the topic, URGH, this thing is rattly as hell, and I dislike it... Hell watching the drop you can see the kind of whiplash available to guests... Weird how this is by far the roughest Eurofighter I've done really... Meh, it's on my blacklist of rides I won't be arsed to do on my next trip.. As my head was off, Slammer was avoided for Rush, which was running rather well... Very good ride really... Hopefully it won't fling parts at us this year... We then meandered past Storm Surge and it's stupidity back to Slammer, which Nicky had never done before... SO MUCH HEADRUSH! Then it took forever getting back down and as we left an engineer appeared... Wonder if Thorpe will eventually lose patience with it? More meandering followed including a jaunt to Swarm island (not the 90 minute+ queue though) and Sunken Gardens... Lunch was had at the Roast and Relish which was rather nice but needs ketchup as well as all the other random sauces... Tasty beef and nice and relaxing with the sounds of Swarm next door too really... Then we left, not being arsed to queue for anything further and I wanted to process my data... Not that it looks interesting tbh... And Nicky wanted to play Skyrim... Oh well... S'ok day really, would've done Swarm if it wasn't for the data capture stuff... And Colossus can go shove it...

Maybe we're just spoilt, but those trains are ugly... Longest inline in the world though...

Banned for thinking that YMAS are the best British band of all time... Seriously better than Queen? Utter lunacy!
-
Urgh, Saw might not involve head banging the restraints, but it sure as hell rattles heads like no tomorrow... Another ride that I'll never really bother with...
-
Of course, but considering barely anyone on here has done anything not Merlin owned or Florida, I guessed Aussie parks would be even more unlikely
-
16 people at most... This ride is going to have HORRENDOUS throughput considering it'll probs take a fair bit to get to the top of it... Oh wells, gonna be an unique experience if Superman launches along when you're on it...
-
Staff will never give distinct reasons in such a case, so there's not much that can be done about it... Just to keep things from getting over the top really...
-
I trust you pushed her in front of a bus for her ignorance?
-
Hell, keep the guns and call it a "defense simulator"... Which also goes wrong and involves an actual Swarm attack... Btw Thorpe Management, should you wish to use this idea, please send all royalty payments to my offshore bank account...
-
Why when it already has Tomb Blaster? Doesn't need two dark rides where random shooting does nothing Actually... Vengeance being retro-fitted to slot into the Swarm theme? Might not be the worst shout

It's (unfortunately) not that cheap and/or easy to get to... Unless you like Ryanair and can get to Stansted at silly times of the day of course... On my booked trip I'm flying to Basel from Gatwick through EasyJet and booking (eventually) a shuttle to get us to the park hotel... Hotels for 3 nights start from 606 euros for two adults, not including park tickets... Bound to be a few B&Bs in Rust though, where you could probs walk to the park from... HOWEVER, it is worth it...
-
Lookie what I saw on park today...
-
Depends whether they lock during the actual ride...
-
As big as that place is, I doubt they could fit Tussauds in...They also don't own it, as a fair few non-Merlin things have been there for years, including Hotels, Namco, McDonalds, etc...
-
You can see it sitting at the top of the tower, smiling as it welcomes another murderer into the fold...
-
Fortunately having a ride like Terra/Alien Encounter would mean that costs of running it per hour in comparison to Saw Alive would probably be cheaper... Horray for not needing lots of expensive actors!
-
Apparently it can get 850pph... But looking at POVs it just looks boring and very much more a spectator ride... HANG ON! THAT MAKES IT JUST LIKE A TOP SPIN!
-
Never ridden it... Of course, I believe a water ride shouldn't rely on external effects to get you wet either...
-
Someone else has found this, but Merlin have applied for planning permission to add a Dungeons attraction into County Hall, right by the Aquarium and the Eye... This is... strange and interesting for the future of the London Bridge ones themselves, are they to be removed for this version? Or both kept? Can have a mosey at the plans here: http://planning.lambeth.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=externalDocuments&keyVal=LY9MTDBOHV000

For Thorpe or Chessie? As I have a list as long as my arm for the latter... Thorpe, it does need a good quality dark ride, but then again you have to ask if it would suit the target audience? Here in lies the issue really, they've put themselves in such a position in which a dark ride to the scale of say, Huntik (3D and lasers) wouldn't need to be outrageously themed because really, it'd be seen as very much a family esque ride, unless they pulled another Saw (Eurofighters remember are normally 1.2m restriction) or Sub Terra and make it 'scary'... Flat rides on the other hand do suit Thorpe, but there aren't many reliable ones in the world these days that don't already exist at the park... Gotta think in terms of space and throughput, and there aren't very many flats that have a high throughput... Fabbri Boosters have that issue, Huss Topple Towers are unreliable as well as the Jump 2 (one of which is also a boring ride really, dunno about the other)... What else is there? The park needs more throughput munching rides for the busier summer months... A ZacSpin would be unique to the UK and we can see what the fuss is all about, but then what? I have a feeling Thorpe's future is going to be interesting when it's reaches the peak of ability to expand... Probably going to start looking like Blackpool...
-
Unfair to say that there are similarities between Nemesis and Sub Terra because well, they've used an extension of an existing backstory and moved to enlarge it... And tbh, I much prefer Merlin's stories to places like Six Flags and Cedar Fair... At least we get attempts at stories here... Agree with the hype machine for Thirteen though, and the PR stunts which have been completely stupid... (BO, limb loss, etc)...
